Thank you Dave for being honest, sincere and direct

Why?

What is the difference between something that is a simulation and something that is not

Never in my life have I changed my mind, because someone was trying to be nice about it. Nor have I changed my mind without an argument someone had. You need a precise argument and you need principle.
4
I think people are trying to be happy and to be happy you have to be adored and often we tend to adore people who are useful. Religion gives a false sense of usefulness, because it promises you specific things, but doesnt really tell you how it will give you them or how to get them exactly.

Dave thought "Science as a mythology" must have been a joke, Pilgrim just smiled and started indirectly explaining that it was a serious idea. I felt like Pilgrim just ignored what Dave said as flat out wrong and smiled along, it would be nicer if he just asked why Dave thinks that.
3
@blanktester Yes, except we need someone as blunt as Dave I think, Pilgrim like Jordan Peterson sometimes tries to "bridge" his ideas with Dave's as if he is avoiding being wrong, while Dave says what he knows and says it clearly and precisely, so you can show him evidence against it.
3
@blanktester I hear you and I would say, when he is being extra rude, its definitely for entertainment and should not be used as an example of how to have discussion.
3
@zeven341 Yeah its just poetry obv, Science isnt THE TRUTH, its the best process we have by far for acquiring knowledge.
3
They were descendants of the local fisherman, just like kings of Asur lived in hutts, Kings of Sumer were descendants of fisherman. If you want to know what they looked like, they created art that resembles what they looked like and they look like middle easterners to me.
3
What they miss is that, some people are too lazy to actually check the science so they just go along with media, some people have "Faith In Media", which just like religion is asking you not to question it, science is a method that is the process of questioning exactly.
2
Conspiracy theories arent "bad because they are theories", they are bad if they do not have verifiable facts and fallacies
2
Problem with questioning science, is then you have to replace it with a different philosophy and I think science is easier to understand, due to its material nature, than any other philosophy, trying to explain the world.
2
No one discriminates you and yet your life is still worse than Jews, so youre jealous
2
You may understand aspects of politics, but political philosophy will always teach you something you did not. Just like any other science, on the surface it feels useless.

@barco99 Humans are few too but Im happy we exist and its enough 🤷

The amount of mispronounciation/misspelling was crazy, clearly he is learning these things as he is making the video, also Taybetans is crazy

You are claiming, there already exists AI tech, that knows how to generate energy to power itself?
1
@thefoolishthinker7007 You said there are Youtubers that are immortal, such as the ones that are AI. But being AI doe not mean you are immortal, because AI needs power to run and power runs out.
1
@thefoolishthinker7007 You were right
1
You are right, this is exactly what made me feel uneasy, I think Jordan Peterson has a similar problem, where you have no idea what he actually believes and he tries his best to make it vague. When Pilgrim said "I follow Daoism" Interesting question would be: How do you follow it? Why? Another interesting question: "Which scienticsts and science deniers do you personally know?"
1
@ Quit meandering and lay out what you meant in the last paragraph about "women having a stranglehold" hehe
1
@ Yeah I got that, but can you elaborate on "women having a stranglehold" and "monkeys"?
1
@ Go play by yourself, if you cant discuss your actual beliefs too bad
1
I agree
1
"Process isnt progress" this cant be true, because an process implies time and over time things progress, even in the beginning of the video, Dave mentions the Aromic theory and the "progress" of it
1
Finally Pilgrim says something that I can check with a scientific method, but then he says "but dont use me as an authority on it" it is offensive to hear things that not even the speaker is sure of... Religara does mean translated literally to "re bind", but I cant find anything on what Pilgrim described that it is tying back of the "most beautiful and something else" 38:46

Science is not a "theory of everything" Science is a process that can be applied to anything, even Religion, how far you go with that process is up to you. Religion is not a "theory of everything" either, because Religion is given to you as a fact, given from god, something that does not need to be checked, in order to change religion, you have to claim that god was part of your process, but that process isnt based on evidence or efficacy, therefore it is not a scientific process and honestly its either hallucination or deliberate lying.

I don't think they want to challange authority, because men are usually the highest ups in authority, but men are known to feel confident in their ideas and be assertive, I think man or woman the average person knows about science just as much as any flatearther does, but flatearthers are the confident ones, who are very sure of themsleves.

To be fair I go to uni, but I still need the Professor Dave University
1
Most languages have their intrinsic math also. Even the word "most" describes a type of calculation, right?
1
@MariaTorvalds What is it a tool for?
1
It is impossible, for a CEO to work as hard as all their workers, so lets be honest, capitalism does not value hard work every time, but it does value it sometimes.
1
Oct 2023, west virginia couple arrested for trafficking a Black child, did you hear this news? If not ask yourself, do you ever hear or learn anything that does not make European Americans look good? You dont have to, but its something that I have thought about
1
I thought Marx wasnt an idealist... why do you claim he had an ideal world? I am curious, I don't know about this.
1
@airiquelmeleroy By "idealist", I meant "someone who thinks an ideal form of something exists". I was wondering, did Marx describe what he would like society to become?
1
It is a real word, yes, Dave is wrong about that
