I've lived in China for a decade and before I ever heard of demographics or Zeihan we, as in our social circles, we were figuring this out simply by seeing it on the ground and in our lives. In particular, by around 2016 we started seeing first waves of villagers being repatriated into the city. I am NOT joking when I tell you they arrive on buses and subways with their watermelon (no, seriously, they were given watermelons) and seriously, they are baffled and amazed at lights, automatic doors. Wave after wave were moving in and yet:
There was no increase in traffic, in shops, there was no increased 'population density'.
By 2018 we were all aware that nearly ever skyscraper was 90% empty. the 10% are almost exclusively various local/provincial government things 'youth sports committee HQ'. and as far as we can tell 100 of them don't actually 'do' anything but occupy an entire floor.
in 2018 i was surprised when a Party member was the first to tell me that it was the 1st year there was, officially reported, more deaths than births in China PRC! (so one could easily believe it was much more ration and earlier than official govt reports).
Villages are interesting, by 2019 some are as unoccupied as they were during the great migration of younger villagers to the coastal factories however there is this: actual villager-villagers remain gone but properties are being bought by wealthy retiring (usually party members) from cities. The Chinese version of retired 'Boomers' buying cottages they visit on holidays and weekends.
the new arrivals became the odd stragglers and ever once in a while you'll see a 'Borat' or two arrive (they are Xinjiang Muslim people and they've finished Re-education are then assigned to jobs in the cities. they are dispersed so there is no possible 'enclaving')
We live it. We see it on the ground.
During covid in 2021 we routinely walked the dog past entire neighborhoods where you'll see massive new homes and barely anyone lives there and sometimes they're only occupied by the migrant workers who built them and just stayed there.
It's actually a little 'bizarro world' too because we recently saw them complete a massive highway (GDP bloating, bridges to nowhere) and it opens and there is just the odd light traffic. A year later it's still relatively light traffic. we've taken high-speed train and there are routes that are so weirdly empty. 5 of us in a car that could seat 50. Eerie.

So far, these are my best explanations:
- Population shrink is greater than anyone is letting on. There are, literally, physically less people.
- Far far more grandparents and old aunties are dying off and many of those in their 60s.
- At the same time, the vast overbuilding of GDP bloating communities has dispersed the populations too far away.
- in 2025, its not just that younger people no longer like Spring Festival or have less aunties and grandparents to visit (or none to visit) or that there are far far more divorces making family reunions uncomfortable OR that many are uncomfortable returning somewhere to be humiliated by a lack of family, marriage, no children (this is a massive deep issue at Spring Festivals) but they are really in 'Survival Mode'.
They have to go two full weeks, half a month without any earnings. They are actually in Beijing but they have set up two bowls of rice, don't use heaters, blanket up, keep any expense to full minimums, eat a little meat and just try and get through the financial darkness and hope to climb back out after its over. (then they are 2 weeks behind on basics).
They are in an apartment trying to go without 2 weeks worth of income.

That's actually a pretty darn amazing moment and although I'd seen the speech video and clips I never noticed that he was actually clapping his shoulder. Enthusiastically too. My wife is quite obviously disabled and from a world where you wouldn't believe how oppressed she really is, at times, by some people. It would be almost impossible to try and explain to her that a wealthy comfortable young man at a wealthy UK elite college (or any college) who's in perfectly good health BUT declares he really wants to _ another man's wiener is "A Victim of Oppression". Actually, I don't believe this could make any sense to her. She might assume this is a kind of western comedy bit or a joke. I don't think she could comprehend how a rich privileged 25 year old Uni student at Oxford is actually in a law suit, suing the school, crying, becoming a 'Victim Star' on campus because she thought she overheard a student calling her a 'Paki'. My wife could not comprehend this as real life. Often, real life disabled people, meaning, they are actually physically disabled for real, they do NOT have a lot of patience for these stupid woke-world 'victim status' weirdos and this victim-status madness in society.

I've seen all this happen in mainland China some 10 years ago and the consequences too. Yes, around 2013 I was working on college campuses and it happened that young women were launching very high standards for men. In 2013 China was still peaking and there was an expectation men ought to be more successful than ever, climbing the ladders, landing tech jobs and in particular buying a home and a car by age 26 because those were the requirements to marry a woman.
We're now a decade later and I still keep in touch with many of those (then 20) now 30 year old Chinese young people and we already went through the 'naked wedding' (marriages without expensive weddings) then the 'laying flat' youth movement. This is where young people just give up on life and in our parlance someone might say 'couch potato' but the meaning is give up trying and lay on your bed. There was even a 'Let it Rot' movement which is just more the idea, don't try and don't even try and preserve or maintain. The broader meaning is that they have no interest in marriage, family, jobs, buying homes building a life and further more don't even try to stay in shape, physically, don't care if you become fat, old and your beauty rots away. This "dropout giveup life" fully spread among young men and has now spread among young women everywhere.

I've often thought China was 50 years behind in 'culture'. Even today, I hear many 60 year old building managers talk about who has the tallest buildings? How CHina has even more 50 floor buildings that the USA! Another was disappointed as he thought Europe was so advanced but when he visited there were only a few skyscrapers, so few, so poor!?
but as this video shows us, in fact, high-rises and skyscrapers were a thing of New York (or other modern nations) in the 1970s era but by the time the Twin Towers were finishing - Americans were already complaining about them. more writers wrote articles on how socially unhealthy these 50 story buildings were. People who had money did NOT want to buy a 30th floor top apartment but (as noted in the video) would spent their money on a 'brownstone' 3 floor 'walkup' and renovate it.
In fact, much of Europe has really 'banned' buildings past 20 or so floors. They found they block the sun and create a grand 'darkness' for everyone else living outside the 30+ floor giant monoliths.
Yes, they look 'cool' and in the 1970s it was like a 'show of your national wealth' or some kind of fantasy of the 'tallest in the world' was some bragging rights.
but China is still in this '1970s' phase where that's the highest number one thing! Its the 'highest money lifestyle!' thing.
and its true that across North America and the UK you notice, these days, the highrises are for the poorer people, refugees, the poorer working class folks, not because they love it but that's sort of the lower rent living places.
*mind you, New York still builds exclusive skyscrapers and their primary buyers? wealth Saudi Arabians and wealthy Chinese mainlanders! They are not actually that popular with native-born New Yorkers.

A tremendous number of people. nearly any North Korean that can flee and get into the USA to ask for Asylum (or just live illegally), around 60,000 Mainland Chinese manage to get into the USA illegally and declare and ask for political asylum. Pretty much the people from 170 countries in the world - if they can find a way - they want to live in the USA and they try. Here is a fun fact: 100% of 100% of all kinds of Visas to live, work, study or immigrate to the USA are 100% full in 100% of US Embassies around the world. Realy, its like 300% which is to say 3-years backlogged.
This may well surprise people but 100% of ALL visa applications in the British, Australian, German, etc embassies are always 100% full.
You would, given only 1 choice of a nation to live in for the rest of your life, you would choose an American passport and citizenship.
That's who.

Chang was mostly correct though. In his 2001 book he figured the economic collapse would start around 2011 and he was almost correct, that is when it was collapsing but was bubbled up with massive GDP-Bloating games that actually DID work to keep the thing propped up!
HOWEVER, as Chang and others pointed out, the problem with such things, GDP bloating 'bridges to nowhere' is that you're now putting it off for a while but making it come all the more badly when that runs out.
The artificially extended peak economy came and went around 2015. Some say 2017 but from there they tried to 'GDP Bloat' again (hey, it worked the first time?) but thats when you knew things like the Evergrande Collapse was now guaranteed and worse.
So, he did have it too early.
Also I'm not sure why you're sayhing "it is still in one piece". I'm not sure what that would describe because it can't really be broken up into different pieces. it will just keep deflating, more unemployment, less capital investment money, more companies and stores will close, fewer cinemas and hot pot restaurants and more wumao-dog meat skewers etc.

The problem is that you've done a college girl 'NOt ALLLLLL hmmm????'' You've also done the dumb thing of finding 'hobbies in China' on an app that is going to, obviously, find you all the exceptions. then your brain went 'SEEEEE ahaha .. and he said there are NO hobbies yet here are 1000!!
What he really means (and yes, technically HAHAH he said 'no hobbies' in one sentence before clarifying) but as a broad rule, Chinese mainlanders do not really have near the interest in hobbies as you'd find in the UK and USA (which I suppose is the cultural context and audience he's speaking in).
in fact, this has actually become a common criticism of English Testing systems in China where they frequently ask the Chinese test taker about 'Hobbies' and they had to preplan a made-up 'hobby' just so they could demosntrate the English.
(ask me how I know this if you want).
In fact, about a hundred Chinese have told me that Chinese didn't even have a word-for-word translation of 'Hobby'. You see? The concept, in the Anglosphere's definition was foreign or 'non existent' to Chinese but they can translate it into 'Ai Hao' which is something like 'things you love to do'. (not quite but like that) or 'Hobby'.
So that said and modern interpretations adjusted..
... generally speaking, and this is like 95% of Chinese still won't have a 'hobby' in the Western sense of some dedicated luxury time projects.
But.. well its true that most of the farmers will finish work and then meet and drink rice wine and play cards. so.. I guess you can say that it their 'hobby'?
Students will meet their friends and play basketball but may also go ride bikes but also go with their parents to a tourist site but also..
but it will be RARE you'd find a student who's engaged in *hobby, western sense where as an example: He spends his spare time dedicated to collecting and fixing up bicycles, following the world of bicycles, building custom bikes and he does this for the sake of loving it for itself.
It would be amazing to find a farmer who doesn't just play cards at night but he has a 'playing card collection' on a wall and his proper hobby is finding vintage cards, he is part of a playing card group that trades and discusses and searches out rare cards.
You see the difference here.
but yes, its true, and often in the bigger cities, you will find something like motorcycle hobbiest club. You would find 10 people who meet up and their hobby, a proper definition, they like to create miniatures for the sake of it, for the passion and as a 'pasttime' hobby.
I hope that helps you stop snickering and guffawing for a while?

It's worth mention the title choice: Capitol "rioters". the VAST MAJORITY did no such rioting, nothing even close to the definition of 'rioting'. The running joke as 10 different livestream angles were broadcast to millions on social media aligned with Norm MacDonalds tweet "I like rioters who follow the velvet ropes". Because 99% of them who even went past the foyer ACTUALLY did follow the red roped-off tourist path. Really. They didn't even knock them over. Yep, several took and held items to chants of 'DO NOT DISRESPECT OR MOVE ANYTHING!!!" shouted almost everyone. (In fact, the only seen example was Viking hippy who did in indeed do a circle with a podium saying it how it belongs to 'the people' in some hippy symbolism and he put it back".
Yep, around 5 people smashed in a 3 separate windows. They vandalized and can be called 'rioters' if you really want.
The VAST MAJORITY were, at worst, guilty of "trespassing on public property".
A reminder that entire area is usually open to the public (hence the arguments with capitol police who temporarily opened it).
Almost ZERO were 'Rioters'.
Even more insane in terms of jailing people: nearly HALF the people charged and jailed and convicted were, literally, people who popped in to the foyer. Literally people like 'Vloggers' or just concerned citizens who, long after it was opened, stepped into the doorway and foyer area and asked police if they could help or simply asked 'what was going on' but themselves not participating in anything.
Nothing I'm telling you is some 'conjecture' but was livestreamed from SO MANY CAMERAS that channels couldn't fit all the livestreams into the split-screens.
You can, no exaggerating, you can actually watch so many angles with so much audio covering every split second of nearly every single person from that day, from entering, to where they walked around, to every word etc.

Once spent some time in my life dating a model, hanging out with models, even vaulting my stupid face to the level of an embarrassing modeling photo I hope has vanished from existence:
Maybe I was just lucky but almost all those good looking models I got to know to some degree - they were great. Really nice young people. Most of the young ladies were ... here's the expression: They were "In on it'.
They were fully aware of what this is (and is not). That this is a 'gig' they can do with their face. I have no idea why everyone around me referred to this recent model on set as 'arrogant'? He was absolutley NOT arrogant at all. He was fully 'in on it', he knows what this is, he is, like everyone else, happy to get another gig, a job, he wanted to earn some money. Yes he did work on his 'Abs'. He isn't vain, he is fully aware thats the job. its really his work obligation, his work duties.
It's nearly the opposite side of 'vanity' and 'arrogance', and btw he laughs and 'cringes' at the stupid cool guy model hair he had to wear for this 'cat walk' clothing modeling thing he did.
The women were just legit nice young women, I like one said she would stay in the city because they asked for another fashion show and "... ok, well they decided im pretty so..."
She's aware this is just what people decided is a beautiful pretty lady.
She didn't say that. She has no 'need' or lust or anything about herself being pretty.
China?
The mailand of China is rough. This lady is not wrong that there is a kind of (see 2:00) there is thick world of harassment, ugly sexual luridness and then they get very cynica and jaded, a kind of off-put, soured attitude creeps in.
but again, she is 'self aware', she knows this is a temporary job, she isn't asking someone to 'tell her she's pretty' because shes vain and needs attention.

It's worth mentioning China has never been thought (not by any serious source) never 1.4 billion.
That is India.
For some reason, just as everyone said 1.3 billion it just 'became 1.4' like China now went from 3000 years of history then 5000 and now people start saying '6000'.
ok that aside,
revised numbers (so, careful about believing official CCP numbers) agreed to round up to a peak of 1.2 billion. Which was probably overcounted, 10 years ago.
There is absolutely every reason to believe that is below 1B now and for 2024 (so, you can say the 2023 counts) by independent sources, by the Shanghai Data Leak combing, by the many 3rd party nation who monitor things like salt imports etc: 970 million. not more than 970 million.
Yes, there are some serious estimates, not goofy online theories but people who very seriously work on numbers, yes many insist its as low as 800 million as we hit 2025. Some say 900
The only people who insist its still 1.2 billion seems to be the official Chinese CCP govt. (even those are weirdly vague and open-ended counts).
And again, India is thought to be around 1.4 billion. Not China, the '4' was never China. the '3' was corrected due to overcounts and revised to 1.2 at peak.

The average Westerner works with, knows, goes to school with, lives among hundreds of Chinese from China. There are 'Chinatowns' in every Western nation, there are Chinese television stations and if they went out, be it London or Toronto or Los Angeles, they would come across Chinese tourists, students, Chinese storeowners and Chinese restaurants, Chinese immigrant workers, Chinese would be seen in pubs, restaurants, workplace events so frequently as to be normal daily life.
If this vlogger was standing in Richmond, BC he'd be one of the few people who ONLY lived 10 short years in China and most others would have lived in China far longer than that.
Many many 'Westerners' will have visited China, some part of it, at least once in their life.
---------
Very few Mainland Chinese will have ever been to a Western nation. The ones that have may have gone 20X.
Very few Chinese in China will spot a "westerner" in public (tho, in tourist areas its more common) and fewer will ever work with them, talk to them, few Chinese will engage in any social media where 'Westerners' are part of the circles, throughs and comments. Every "Western" social media platform will have, as normal life, always, routinely, have Chinese netizens.
(here is an example, here on youtube, we are proof of that).
Chinese will often know so little about the west that they believe and speak as if there is a nation called "The West" and a people knowns as "The Westerners". There is no such thing
The average Mainland Chinese will have more misbeliefs about 'The West' and often stunningly wrong beliefs than the other way around. As a recent example, some Chinese (all smart normal people) were absolutely amazed to learn that there is no USA Police Force, that most police in the USA states are not 'White men' and that of the 10 controversial arrests in a year (out of 1000s of violent arrests) only about 10 involved a 'white policeman' shooting a black man. Most of those have some reasons too.
They were utterly convinced that in the USA, there is a 'USA Police Force' which is mostly white men and that they murder 1000s of innocent black men every year. They were sure I must be lying because they KNEW for sure in the USA a 'white police' force goes around murdering 1000s of black people.
I've found almost every Mainland Chinese believes these kinds of outrageous things and I cannot think of as many parallels in (for example) the USA.
I have very intelligent friends in Mainland China who are absolutely convinced, as if they KNOW it for a fact, they believe in "The West" they also have an internet firewall that blocks the Chinese internet, they also block Chinese news, CCTV, they block Weixen and Alipay and Weibo etc.
They totally believe it's a "parallel" and of course that is not true at all.

@fwfeo The USA has a population 10X the size of Canada's population and many cities more populous than Toronto and yet, a Torontonian could cross the border into huge swaths of Detroit that are just about abandoned.
It's not only that though - there are vast brand-new suburbs of the USA where with 'ghost suburbs'. They aren't really ghosttowns but huge real estate deals that will fill up over 10 years.
Despite having a population 10X the size of Canada, nerds points out that every house, building, including parking lots, parks, schools and people of the entire USA could (in theory, if you wanted) all would easily fit in New York state alone.
however, having said all that - something else is going on in Mainland China.
It's something you can find in select parts of the USA and may be dubbed a 'Bridge to Nowhere'. and as some example you could be vacationing in Alaska and all of a sudden cross a rather impressive new bridge, a remarkably large bridge and indeed your the only car on the entire bridge at any given moment. It's notable since there is a popular of 5000 people who'd use the bridge. Meanwhile, over in New York City an area with 500,000 people only wish they could get a bridge like that! they wish!
Of course this 'Bridge to Nowhere' exists through some wacky federal and state budget schemes for the sake of getting some kind of funds and some economic purposes.
China is something much more like this.
They aren't totally crazy either. around 15 years ago China had a big lull in economic growth and launched massive 'make-work' GDP-bloating projects and it worked! The outside world, 'the west', they saw that and invested in China's surge of massive growth. That's around when you first started hearing of China's "Ghost Cities' and if you watch a few videos of those cities you may even spot me wandering around a 'ghost mall' aha.
In fairness, those are closer to that sprawling empty US suburb and unsold gated communities.
Where China went mad was trying to 'GDP Bloat' themselves out of the 2015ish lull and really just wouldn't stop doing it everywhere.
Which would be fine IF China's population was growing. An empty highway outside a rural village could be just fine if we all knew it's going to be filled by population growth over the next 25 years.
Instead, if anything, there are less villagers this year than there were 5 years ago.
The 50 floor skyscraper with the LED show on the outside is fine IF that city has population growth for decades to come.
Instead, its just 40 empty floors and this year 41 empty floors and soon 42 empty floors and a bus stop outside that is passed by so often for the lack of passengers that it nearly confused me when one day the bus stopped to pick up 2 office workers at the supertower bus stop. the bus never stops here what?
As Zeihan often points out, one of the main biggest and unique things with Mainland China is not just a declining population. Indeed, a city in China may have 7 million people today as it did in 2013.
The remarkable story is that the population is almost exclusively replaced with aging rural seniors (65 yo and older), the grandmas old uncles but 10 years later everyone from and in the city is also 10 years older.
7 million people were 1 million seniors.
A decade later 7 million with 2 million senior citizens.
As Zeihan points out correctly: Senior citizens don't create new startup companies and move into the new skyscraper downtown.
Seniors don't buy new cars or even drive cars. Seniors don't go to the big iMax entertainment center.
Seniors in China get up at 6am, do Tai Chi, look for pop bottles and cans, buy some vegetables on the street, go to a small old apartment and are happy to watch anti-Japanese war dramas for the next 12 hours of the day and that's that.
next year, of the 7 million in that city, 3 million of them will be senior citizens.
The next year it will be 6.8 million but 3.1 million will be seniors.
The big shiny skyscraper will have 44 of the 30 floors empty...

when I was a little kid we stil lived in an era where grandmothers and most mothers really needed to cook food... but already, that was becoming a habit more than a sheer survival necessity. MIcrowaves, there was already a world of jello, instant meals, 'tv dinners' and there was no end of new ultra-convenient products being sold; kitchen wizard, makes dinner easy! The new kitchen mixer does a 5 course meal in 5 minutes! slapchop chops veggies in seconds.
by the time I moved out and got my first apartment, any dumb 19 year old college boy could figure out how to microwave pizza pops, buy pre-made dinners. mix juice powder, yes make scrambled eggs with my 'instant eggzz gadget'.
Even as a kid i thought about how this was the 'robots replace us' and now 'AI replaces us' of the time. Women or maybe 'wives' were replaced in that former need.
and lest we forget - for most of human history until 5 minutes ago, a wife who gathered, prepared and cooked food was an absolute necessity to stay alive day by day. you'd die if not.

@danielponiatowski7368 It was some Zimbabwea teachers who went a long way into forming my view too. One is in Canada and will never return, the other in China. both tell me the same things. They were both well educated, real old school British education system guys. Both tried for years and years to reform things, one of them setting up real big international aid, these 'ngos' etc.
both guys described it as utterly hopeless. there is nothing they can ever do, no amount of effort, it cannot work, so pointless they have forever left, will never go back. culturally, politically, socially, there is no way they would succeed and one described being relentlessly harrassed, bullied, all he got was intrigue and drama, being used, abused etc.
but there comes this idea that maybe its better to let them live. maybe they dont want certain things and so be it. Let them. Maybe I shouldnt show up with an NGO vowing to build a girls-only modern school like I need to make them like it.

China does indeed use communist flag red and it does not have the same appeal as it does to their eyes. They made everything that color red in the 2008 Olympics and it literally caused so much dismay, 'feelings of danger or oppression or hell' from focus groups that the Olympics mandated all future color schemes must include blue and green.
Besides the red, I don't know HOW they manage to do this but everything else looks so ugly. small lettering, the graphic and visual presentation looks like 'anti-intuition', dull, technical labels, bleak, I can't really explain it but they do this to everything so the presentation from colors to space to lettering looks so 'nothing, minimal, bleak, governmental'.
Anyway there are other problems but seriously the entire look and feel of their section just says "don't bother coming to this unappealing zone of refrigerator box boring ugly graphics and colors.

@kaishekchiang8581 Hello Foreigner, welcome to 'The Western Media' laowai. Well, we don't know because China's PLA have only won a war against other Chinese but lose to Vietnamese and fail to invade Taiwan (twice) but there are reasons he says it will be a 'Reef'.
Aircraft carrires like this need massive support. It can't go very far and it still needs years of upgrades and equipment then a gigantic assistance fleet. Keep in mind it's capabilities are all 'theoretical' and nobody ever see's it actually working.
This would be 'burying' someone if they fought India, China PRC's equal rival. If they ONLY fought the Indian Navy and nobody else. Yes, they would bury some Indians like Indians bury Chinese 'Wolf Warriors' at the border.
HOWEVER,
realistically, the only thing this would be fighting is the Japanese Navy which is far FAR superior while they are allied with the Taiwanese, USA, France, UK, Philippines, India etc.
An alliance so overwhelming, so vastly superior, that it would be likely before this aircraft carrier could bury anyone it would become a giant coffin for 1000 PLAN soldiers and they wouldn't even get to kill a single Japanese in order to pretend they valianitly did something.
Really, the alliance would be so overwhelming it wouldnt even know what hit them, so fast and it would be a great loss of face because they wouldn't even get to be in a 'battle' of any kind.
I know, you believe it will be glorious as it does a 'Kamakaze' sacrificing the lives of everyone on board but to see some 'American ship' temporarily retreat and take some damage before it's sunk. Then create a lore, a god-like story of the powerful Chinese who PUNISHED the West and died trying!
but in fact, the way it looks here, there would be no battle. Only an 'artificial reef' which would be declared a Philippines Island and have a Philippino flag on it.
The Chinese soldiers would be rescued by Taiwanese but before being lifted out of the water they'd have to confess Taiwan is the True Ruler of China, to be pulled out of the water.
I'm not happy about this. I'm just realistic and I don't want 1000 young Chinese mainland men to die for nothing.

Your take on MrBeast isn't surprising as British culture see's the ultimate goal, the bottom line, it comes down to 'show was more their real self) (see: Big Brother series, a contest to see who was the most real). but that isn't important when it comes to what he does. Which is the important part: what he actually DOES. What is made to happen.
If he builds 100 wells in Africa and that is good for those people then that happened.
They don't become less good, less valuable, less 'real' because he sold lunchable snak-paks.
Conversely, the African Wells and their benefits do not become better, more life-saving, greater functioning wells if we found out that MrBeast was really sooooo sincere, he really had real feelings and it was out of true kindness.
I get that those are THE most important values in 21st century Britain but its the part where "..so, that cancels out whatever was done and given and does not count anymore".

Oh, it could be done overnight if not for an utterly outrageous number of lawyers, lawyers, investment group boards, unions, lawyers and then an array of bylaws, laws, regulations, government committees, bylaws and lawyers that would make our heads spin as they got their 90% of whatever is to be gained from it, money/powerwise.

This topic needs to be put into more video and podcast forms for the general public. I can confirm some of the things you're saying from a time I worked around the local justice system. One of the wacky things I learned about are these 'Incredible discoveries!' of highly valuable artworks we hear about.
"Local woman discovers old painting bought at a garage sale is worth 50,000 dollars!"
"Hiker trips over a can of rare civil war coins stashed in the desert!"
Over and over again they investigate these and what is REALLY going on?
- That painting was very knowingly stolen from an estate, a senior citizen or even a blatant break & enter etc etc. Criminal purpose. Then later someone found a corrupt lawyer, a fixer, someone who created a scenario where, by law, it could be sold. Soon it's in someone's grandmothers' attic where and keep in mind:
Yard sales, nobody has a 'receipt' or can necessarily recall what house it was, it was 8 years ago. Nobody can really identify what old painting was dropped off at a thrift store. Who left it in a garbage bag outside? nobody knows.
the bag of coins or whatnot are 'tripped over' in a national park. there is no way to make a 'claim' for these by some private person.
So there is all kinds of blackmarket, criminal, theft, scamming stuff going on with a lot of these things and that's before even getting to 'legitimate' art but is most obviously for money laundering and 'tax scheme games' purposes or the world of counterfeiting.

@marcio7145 You didn't choose it over the USA. You couldnt get a visa to live in the USA.
No, the 'fact is' China, South Korea and Japan don't share some path and it's weird you needed to attach PRC China to those other countries,
however,
Yes indeed, China's mainland went from a horrific poverty hole of malnutrition to something close to your home country, around 100th of 200 in terms of wealth-per-person.
Almost all of this being opening up and manufacturing for the USA, Japan and South Korea.
You've never been to the USA but of course its not 'spiraling downward' and if it was it's still where Chinese WANT to be and rise up to, to get even half that wealth, security, that level of quality.
also, I'm not from China or a developing country like you (Brazil?) so I don't say things because I"m a toxic hyperfeminine in low-thinking 'comparison culture' where I'm 'jealous'.
Your culture does that. I'm not from a materialistic 'shame culture'.
Learn that.
There is no need for you to keep being dishonest. Stop lying about the USA or China.

btw, 22:00 ish, I am proud to credit my father with that Sasquatch explanation. it is, to my knowledge, the first and for decades the only guy who I know had that explanation. For good reason, he grew up in BC and was, for many years a hunter and later hunting guide. Having seen this very exact thing numerous times, he would explain that very thing Rogan is repeating:
Bears do indeed stand up on their hind legs all the time. You can also find plenty of trees with big claw marks and bear hair where they stand and scratch their backs and claws.
They will also (and notice this) they will stand up to get a look at something unusual, like hikers for example.
When you're in the ultra-dense forests of British Columbia and down to Washington states its like looking through 'Blinds' and what would happen, IF YOU just so happened to look up at some noise or randomly looked over at a bear (standing on hind legs so it can look at you) you'd see it appear to 'walk upright between the trees'.
Well it IS walking upright.
but you wouldn't see it long enough to see it go back down on all fours a few seconds later. between the trees you would see it 'walking through the forest'.
Indeed, a bear on hind legs does actually look quite 'human like'. Think of the Chinese zoo visitors who were convinced the standing bears were men in bear costumes.
This is actually the FIRST TIME I've ever heard anyone in media saying what my Dad told people 40 years ago at this point.
And its almost 'word for word' my dads description so I'm nearly wondering if my dad told Joe Rogan this lol,
but,
yes, when you know that, it becomes so very very obviously what 'Big Foot' is, its a bear being seen on hind-legs for bried moments in very thick forests. This is also why Bigfoot is only ever seen in 'seconds' and then seems to disappear into the forest. In fact, the bear is stll there. He dropped back down to 4 legs and you can't see it anymore but its right there just fine.

I remember a church group that started something like this in a far-flung Mexican region. Build homes for the poor. By the 3rd year they needed 2 buses and you nearly had to know an 'insider' to get tickets because it was sold-out instantly. up to 50 people, often young people were traveling from central Canada to the end of the Baha Penisula to build homes. One of the problems was that we did have a lot of college kids with the mistaken belief that construction was easy (after all, that's what poors and uneducated do right?) and much like she mentions in this video - they were just making a mess. Much like the Informers testimony, the competent local workers were simply undoing much of the work and rebuilding. What some of us started to catch on to: mainly it was the building supplies they wanted. All the concrete, lumber and nails. Add to that transporting it to the village. So, yes, in a real sense, letting all the college kids 'build things', nail drywall, do some sweet paintings, this was, weirdly, like the price the construction workers had to pay for the building materials.
Worse than all that (which wasn't so bad I guess) but some of us got the strong suspicion that the entire thing was really just a big scheme as a local real estate developer was simply selling the homes as would any real estate developer. So, when all were gone, when the dust settled, it was all just a corporate 'capitalist' venture anyway. The kids meant well, everyone meant well but unfortunately a lot of these things aren't what they seem to be :(

Sorry but this is something I find very annoying in China, a country who's governnor now 'Live for The West' and 'keeping up appearances' to the outside world and let me explain in this example:
a few months ago, a series of videos and news reports went viral around and inside Mainland China about the surprisingly empty cinemas. Not only that but the bankruptcy (or impending ones). These caught on all over the outside-world internet and weren't some 'viral' story but it was a little news cycle/social media topic for a few days.
oh oh.
Here comes this stupid thing. Oh ya.. okay.. so you say China have SMALL Audience Thewest!? haha okay we show you! We make BIG AUDIENCES and make 48 hour news cycle show TheWest the POWER OF CHINA is the OPPOSITe of how they shamed us! We shame them!
Its jussssst such a 1-D brain dullar move but here it goes. Yes indeed this is absolutely correct, to show us the 'power' they will control and make videos of crammed theaters, show Chinese overflowing cinemas! now we have 'punched back' even stronger than we were punched!!!
Every student has to go to the cinema on some class field trip. Every corporation is instructed to do this as a company event, then some banners need to be involved. Ja yoe! add oil! see which company can out-do the other in enthusiasm and attendance!
I can't stand these things. yes of course the numbers are bogus, have *asterisks and aren't what they seem.
They never kickstart the cause either. 2 weeks later, cinema will be as empty as ever before.
there is no natural need ro want to return to cinemas and they're still too expensive for a lot of struggling Chinese these days.
I mean great that people enjoy the movie but just saying these things are often annoyingly contrived social 'keeping up appearances' after all.
btw, on the ground I just don't see the 'mania' for this. Girls aren't wearing backpacks, they aren't going on about it, boys don't seem to care about this.

Something in this I wish more coaches would take big notice of: "15 years old.. no, too late". This belief seems to come and go in fads but I still see coaches with this. By 15 its 'too late' because it's going to take a good 3 years before they would get to the higher amateur levels. the 15 year olds who started at 7 area already well on the way.
Really, I've seen these 7 year olds who were indeed masters at age 15 and also 'burned out' and even lost interest in boxing, stalled and they didnt keep growing and improving past 16 years old. [in some cases I really hated seeing fathers and others push them and did NOT blame them for losing interest, not at all].
There is a very impressive long list of great fighters who started 15, 20, even 25 but I wouldn't even refer to the crazy exceptions (Ray Mercer, Toney, Hopkins, Marcianio) because you can still just stay with great amateurs (under-19s) who started at 14, 15, 16.
btw, Usyks old friend Anthony Joshua: age 18. Olympic gold medal. not bad.

He gives us a good overview of a world where doing porn was, not even that long ago, that was something only done among the most troubled, desperate or even sometimes the most witless, easily duped, the drug addicts, maybe the most 'anti-social' subversive types. He starts off 'doing gay porn' but that would have been another insane level, that was men in deeply 'underground' perverse counter-culture world and still only the wildest of them would go there.
15 years ago, yes actually it somehow became like a strangely desired thing to enter celebrity or 'internet famous' stardom and I think he's right that you'd now have 1000s of people, actually they aren't wildly desperate, they didn't have dysfunctional upbringings and they do not need cash or drug money at all. They are actually doing it as a hobby. For some fun hobby. That would have been unthinkable to our age group in our 20s .

Around 10 years ago China went full-entry on absolutely every high school grad they could lure onto a university campus. If you were breathing you were accepted and stuffed in a dorm room and most played video games for 3 and 4 years in a kind of break from life and 'come down' from the insane Gaokao exam pressures (though, by that point you didn't need a high score and you'd still go somewhere).
The results have been an utterly astonishing number of landscape engineer diplomas, In the last 5 and 6 years, many who were finishing a typical 'bachelors' (whatever 3, 4 years diploma) realized there won't be any proper office jobs for them and so er-enrolled into Masters, Phd (so, really they are just sort of biding time, refuge, hoping that will do it) but its almost worse for them as 20 million doctors had the same idea.
you have to figure this too: Now they are 27, 29... turning 30 years old. They do NOT know much about labor jobs, they aren't skilled 10-years veteran handimen, construction workers, carpenters AND besides they're turning 30. labor would hire a novice 18 years old full of dirt-digging vigor not a 30 years old college grad.
But Wait... it gets worse. indeed, lots of these office jobs are deliberately firing 30+ years olds now.
This is a 'face' idea in China where maybe a restaurant wants only tall, pale and pretty young people. They figured out 30+ year olds want 'job jobs' with some livable monthly salary and predicable hours etc. Fire them, hire some 19 year old who's just happy to be there for the most minimum of wages and work 80 hrs a week and do what you tell them to do.
Its bad.
now there are small armies of 32 year old delivery drivers with a masters degree and the delivery gig is no longer able to be considered "just a cash gig to get by.. until I can decide on where I'm going to work, TenCent or a government job". Oh no, they are now having to admit this IS their job for 9 more years until they're knees give out from climbing stairs 30 times a night and they'll be replaced by a 28 year old.
If Chinas government ever needs to fear a particular civil uprising? Armies of these delivery drivers revolting will be utterly fierce, notthing to live for - not afraid to die. be afraid.

I hate saying this but, sadly, yes, you can see some of these things all over the place. To my mind, the 'skybridge harness' is actually one of the biggest dangers and problems - not specifically harnesses - but when anything new arrives there is often a stunning incompetence around how to use it, manage it, administer it safely or effectively. So, it can be an outdoor escalator where staff is using it to transport heavy bricks and it absolutely will break HOPEFULLY not dragging someone to a horrifying painful death.
- They've installed western-style ovens and nobody knows how to use them and I've seen them putting buckets of soup inside that inevitably caused a dangerous electric fire and so on.
- Yes, you'll see things like a 'Skybridge' and realize that the bottom rail is a good 8 inches from the bottom - in other words - exactly the height a child can slide through to their death. (its amazing how often I see that actually!) malls, high places, balconies).
- A few years ago we saw a cool 5-floor high children's climbing tower and a few months later saw THE REMOVAL OF THE CLIMBING TOWER and I can only say that you could see the staff really had no idea of the 'concept' and we'd see the staff, some college kid in a harness and rope but carrying free-hand the toddler or small child. At least the college kid was safe!
- A children's train is an awesome new sensation at a shopping mall - the 'engineer' has no idea how to drive this and not have children busting their heads open getting on or off etc.
So it really is things like 'harnesses' which is saying new things introduced in which NOBODY in any positions around it knows how to use it properly and even worse will often choose the most dangerous ways to use the thing.

There will be increased interest in China because, not unlike the Qing of 150+ years ago it's becoming more apparent that there are strong possibilities to negotiate. Coincidentally, I can see these being remarkably similar to the old days:
8 or 10 of the worlds big 1st world economies will ask for ports. ports like the old days, the 'American Port' (for example) will be something like 'american soil' and the German Port the same. China will have no jurisdiction in their ports.
- Some will also stay (or come to China for a first time) but there will be no more rules about needing to partner with a Chinese company. They will open 1000 stores in China and there is to be zero Chinese involvement or controls or ovesight or 'partnerships' involved. Though, of course they may well hire their own local Chinese people.
- you may also see a return to a world where (lets say americans) they won't be subject to Chinese justice systems in China. Oh, if they are arrested yes but then they must be handed over to the American consulate who will determine their crime under US or British or whatever laws the foreigners have. Chinese will not be allowed to 'detain' any of their people ever, for any reasons.
but here's the thing with this: IF that happens? that could actually start a new resurgence, a real swing forward, actually China might become, once again, the real hotspot of the worlds business and trade and all kinds of good things.

@soonmeteh4150 Hello, no, the total GDP does not necessarily decide how much will be spent on military.
Example: right now Russia is spending 7% of its GDP on military.
Ukraine is spending a whopping 37% of its GDP on military.
Funnily enough, Mexico barely 0.5%
These will also change and not just because of some current war threats but it may be a nation has previously spent enough (for now) and opts to work on infrastructure for a while or has some financial crisis etc.
and,
Other times, a nation realizes its behind and for several years will boost up the percentage to rebuild up their military even though there is no special warfare threats either.
As for the two countries you mentioned (out of 200 countries) we have no idea how much China is spending on military because neither you, me or Chinese citizens believe the official government reports. One of the reasons for disbelieving is that China hides military spending inside 'Infrastructure' spending.
China PRC's real spending is thought to be about double their govt numbers.
This is different with the USA where they definitely have to make a distinction between 'infrastructure' vs 'military defense' and then they publish to the UN and their system demands the accounting.
Yes indeed they are somewhere around 10th place in the recent year tally at around 3.5% which isn't as high as around a dozen others which is surprising since The USA has to protect global trade.
The single biggest beneficiary of US military spending is...
China.
Which is to say China has the most number of cargo ships with the most products being sold around the world as well as needing to import massive shipping across the seas.
The US Military is what protects that.
The US Navy is who goes and counter-attacks Huti terrorists shooting missles at Chinese shipping freighters.
The US military is why almost all of China's ships make it home safely and don't get seized by (Iran, Russia, Yemen Rebels, etc etc etc).
So thank an American military budget that China gets to exist in safety and lifted out of povery by the US Miltary budgets!
btw, you have a lot to learn about China and how things work in China heheh.. a LOT to learn. but at least your making a start. good luck

@dustinbauer3554 You couldnt' see enough videos of 'the real China' nonstop here on youtube.
There are plenty, 100s, 1000s of professional documentaries from dozens of the legacy media channels.
Nope, they aren't 'anti-China' but some are absolutely beautiful, some are very very real, some are 'raw streets' to carefully shot settings.
But the most bizarre thing is this ridiculous 'narrative' pretending Americans are finally using the Red Note 'VPN" to peer into real China when A WHOPPING 6 MILLION AMERICANS VISIT CHINA EVERY YEAR.
Someone once did math and calculated 60% of Americans HAVE BEEN TO CHINA (this is if you calculate it that way).
"Americans finally used Red Note as a VPN keyhole to be 'Refugees' and they got a GLIMPSE into Real China,
WTF?
MILLIONS of Americans TRAVEL INSIDE CHINA every year.
China.. like physcially being in China is actually one of THE single most popular American destinations.
but wait there is more:
Although this youtube has so many videos of China, including right now Americans here can watch 'Live Webcams' of spots in CHina, live, real time,
not just that,
Americans can see 1000000s of hours of these, chat live with Chinese 10 years ago, today, never once using the 'VPN' rednote,
but,
they can see more 'Real China' that Chinese INSIDE CHINA CAN SEE FFS!
Yes, I can see old films of brutal civil war footage or the mass executions of opium addicts for example.
Chinese in China CANNOT see that film
and 10000s of hours of real China.
so its just mindboggling that Chinese or any American is being so utterly foolish to create a fake reality where Americans are behind their USA Internet Wall and FINALLY these 'refugees' found a little VPN called Rednote where.. ahhaahh!!! NOW they FINALLY can see the REAL CHINA not the one their State Run Media created on America's CCTV AHAHH!!!
At some point, when people engage that deeply into fantasy they will become mentally insane. Really, that's no joke.

A very consistent phenomenom: The 'bullied revenge' killers almost NEVER murder any of their actual bullies. This can be found as far back as Columbine when many testified they actually went out of their way to murder several students known to be kind ot them.
None of these people were his bullies.
In fact, they don't even go after what they perceive as their 'Bully Type'. If they were bullied by some 'jocks' they will still find a place, ignore any 'jock types' and murder the band camp, nerds, random girls, a receptionist. as if purposely AVOIDING the 'Jocks' because you'd think even by some chance they'd hit one.
Some criminal experts really should look into that.
BTW: Don't always believe these murderers WERE bullied. Again, as far back as Columbine. there was universal agreement neither of the two spree killers were actually bullied. Nobody recalled an 'jocks' or 'hot girls' ridiculing them, teasing them.
The Virginia Tech murderer was touted as being 'bullied' but in real testimony, his roommates often tried inviting him to their group, activities, nobody recalled any such bullying.
They may well believe they were bullied but that is often part of their pychosis. few had any real life clues or witnesses of actually been bullied by anyone.

@robmcnaughton6918 I'm not sure what to care about this. I'm not an AI nerd but I know one in China and as near as I can tell someone took existing '2002' AI language models then made a kind of upgrade version.
This 'shapes the past' which is to say takes an older thing and hot rods it, hones it.
Which is fine.
The problem is that model its made from is already on the way to being outdated because AI nerds are making some '2nd generation' thing that needs some insane energy usage etc.
And this is where a Chinese phd student offered some complaints about a serious problem in China:
- Far too often China's government is sponsoring and subsidizing (massively) some 'hot technology' but they end up with something that is insanely expensive but already out of date by the time it would ever be useful.
His example: the relentless promotion of 5G, hyping 5G, dumping a massive amount of the nations wealth into 5G and even convincing Chinese that China is the one who innovated 5G which is the highest score and biggest number!
The West so jealous heh,
however,
what ended up happening is that they government finance 7 trillion 5G transponder trees everywhere.
then they use that to 'shame the West' with their highest score number:
"China already has 500k 5G trees and the jealous American only 500 hahha sour grapes?"
however,
China does this .. adn that is money from peoples rice bowls... when there is nearly ZERO actual market demand for 5G.
but its worse,
because it turns out those 5Gs needs massive amounts of energy.
So now they are burning mountains of coal to run these things 0.01% can use.
to figure this out, even if you had a 5G phone you need to be a registered student, get a password to log-in to use the 5G and that will be "5G lite" version.
by the time these things have started rusting out and burning up the nations wealth?
Everyone wants to have a 'Starlink' system anyway. 5G is for 'old people' already as they buzz about how they need a Starlink phone.
[personally I just use 4G so i dont know whats what or care much]
and Deepseek is another example of taking a 2021 Chevy then you 'overclock' the hell out of it. you 'hotrod' the Chevy. remove the backseats, put some racing tires on it, tweak it and China just made a 2001 Chevy as good maybe faster than the 2023 Chevy!!!
Ok, well great i guess? Its free for anyone to use. Ok, thanks? i guess?

@HTeo-og1lg Hi buddy, yes, I mean that is the price the American pays for it. The American buyer spends $5000 on such a thing. At Walmart or Costco or wherever.
I wasn't trying to tell you Americans go to China's factory and buy the thing for $5000 from the factory floor.
Sorry for any confusion. I thought what I was saying was self-explanatory.
To the point, we don't need to find out breakdowns and what the prices are including State Sales taxed but minus what kind of tax write-off or propaine recylcing fees etc etc.
What we want to say here is that the company makes these 'big ticket' household items FOR the American buyers.
Americans will actually buy such a big household appliance type of product as these Barbecue Grills.
Not just buy ONE but many Americans will even buy a new one every 5 or 6 years.!
Americans will buy these things.
Canadians.
Starts getting far less elsewhere.
I'm not sure that I have ever seen an outdoor BBQ in an SE Asian home.
I'm sure they exist, I'm sure I've seen them in restaurants and at least one popular street cart outside my home in Laos.
It appeared to be 40 years old but it was this style of outdoor BBQ.
You can't walk down a typical US suburban street without seeing at least one BBQ, often two (the new one, the old one).
You can't visit a neighbor who doesn't tell you how he's thinking of buying a new BBQ grill.
So what Im telling you is they have a very big problem.
So do the big refridgerator manufacturers, the Washer&Dryer combo manufacturers because its the US Market that buy those and buys new ones every few years.
They even buy a new $5000 Fridge because that summer the hot new kitchen color is Coca-cola Red so the wife insists on replacing the 2 year old Fridge that works great.
Cambodians don't buy those things. Nigerians don't buy those things.
Thais don't buy these things.
or,
Maybe they will but for such a low price it would cost the manufacturer and everyone else down the line more time wasting trouble than its ever worth.
This is why 'simply dual channel' it to other countries' cannot just replace 'one for another' as if they are all the same consumers in the same markets.
As if its 'math'.
likewise, for the cheap big volume sales too, if you're making plastic 'Marvel bobbleheads'.
Far far too many Americans must buy the complete set of all 24 characters but also every new edition of the plastic toys.
Nearly zero Malaysians are doing this kind of purchase. Brazilians aren't doing this.
Iranians aren't buying things like this.
but to this specific case in our video: The 'American Outdoor Griller' manufacturers are in big trouble.
'Spatulas' yes, you can sell anywhere but an enormous 'American Summer BBQ' is a very very American thing you really need to sell to Americans more than anyone else.

The thing is, when this guy was doing this to him smack in the middle of a party, Crews has to 'freeze up' because there's a split second between the next move being something that SEVERELY hurts that man and might even cause other people to get severely hurt. Some people don't seem to get that.
I can think of a devastatingly hard punching heavyweight who had a shltty kid humiliating him with pranks and antagonism and saw the same thing. The heavyweight 'froze' but you can see it in his eyes. You see he's not worried that this shltty kid might 'beat him up' or something, obviously. He's terrified that in 1.3 seconds he puts the kids parents into years of life-changing trauma, he is in a jail cell, ending him and his wifes life, then 10 years later he has to see that guy slurring because of a broken jaw incident a decade earlier etc etc etc.
Was it Hulk Hogan or one of those massive WWE stars who said they would routinely have not kids.. not kids but actual adults would see him eating in a restaurant and actually surprise attack them, leaping and grabbing them in headlocks thinking it was hilarious and funny. Same. He has to lock up, freeze, politely move them off, sit there and finish their breakfast. What's he going to do? beat the fvck out of this guy in front of his family in the pancake house on a Sunday morning?

Steve Allen was 'Mr Entertainment', America's Uncle and probably doesn't get enough credit for a MASSIVE resume that was often ahead of his time, classic and set us up for much of what happened from him onward. Here, this is so refreshing, he just simply and humbly points out what seemed to go wrong with American morality, the family and the sons.
I think of meeting the great heavyweight contender of the 1970s George Chuvalo. At a point, he was traveling the world and a real celebrity and not to mention making some pretty sweet money. Money he would have NEVER comprehended growing up.
In the most devastating tragic home life, 2 of his sons get into crime and heroin and overdose, the mother, so devastated by it deletes herself and finally a 3rd son will, overdose and pass away. One possible explanation? Chuvalo Dad wasn't home that often but was making sure the family got a good deal of money and security at the same time.

Usyk's size appearance is odd. Many many of the presenters and commentators will say "oh.. he's actually a lot taller than I thought'. He seems to have the build, the 'shape' of a man you'd think is 5'10, maybe 6ft tall? but he's a pretty well measured 6'3. This squares with *most opponents claimed height.
*tyson fury has grown from 6'6 to at one point 7ft tall so... who knows
The other thing worth mentioning is Usyk is a damn lean 222lbs and there is no bulk muscle or fat on him. that said, he's also fought 'lean machines' like AJ (i think 255 2nd bout?) and Dubois (240?).
Tyson Fury actually did look damn good vs Usyk1 at like 262?
But to the point, Usyk isn''t small. on a level canvas, wearing flat boxing boots, while AJ is obviously bigger - the difference isn't some insane 'david vs goliath' and while one may be crouching and another straight there are angles where Usyk seems 'bigger' at least across the chest and shoulders.
Dubois was light at 233 vs Usyk but you don't really notice any special size difference.
and think of all the talk pre-Fury1. People were talking as if this was an insane 'david vs goliath' (this was used frequently) and how a human giant couldn't just hurl him around etc etc, the 'Size difference battle' and YES there was,
but,
Almost from the face-off the story is really more about fury's height. his weight, his size wasn't really talked about much and soon after the height story dissipated and it was 'Fury's long arms'.
once into the fight you realized Usyk wasn't THAT much smaller. Its not some crazy Valuev vs Haye level.

I can see this in my own family. The WW2 generation of the 40s, 50s early 60s, they were strongly aimed into the right ways to... boys to cut and style their hair, tuck their shirt in. grandparents recalled elaborate dating rules, the man must open the car door, let her choose her seat, pull out the chair. I suppose that generation came out of the military era so they transposed that into civilian life. I can see where the next generation, the 'boomers', where they swerved out of that. In my family you see all that age have these slick, gelled (grease?) all the boys have this coifed perfect hair in photos and then around 1966 they have 'Mop Tops' and by 72 era photos they go hard 'opposite' with crazy long hippy-style hair, beards, afros. I can well see how that was a 'counter' rebellion in that sense.

China's mainland has a three-part health risk problem.
- despite all the advancements over 2 decades the food safety, I mean the natural kinds of problems, e-Coli, salmonella, food, bacteria, very unclean cooking standards, pests, vermin, worms is STILL shockingly bad in far too many places and cases.
- Squeezing in with that is the problem of 'fake foods', chemical fillers, poisons in foods, contamination of metals and other inedible substances. btw I do NOT mean 'chemicals' the way health nuts in 1st world countries mean it, i mean chemicals like kerosene or lab chemicals unrelated to any kind of food usages.
Now those two compete to get people sick but there is a terrible 3rd which how a world of fake medicine, fake therapy, fake cure does not stop being promoted like its real. I don't mean this in the way some California goes to a goofy holistic medicine but I mean hospitals in China giving people bogus 'chinese herbal medicine' and acupuncture and then boxes of smoke and convincing themselves that actually China cured the 'American Virus' by once again herbal remedies and TCM that the world is jealous of and grovels to know China's powerful healing formulas etc.
This is notorious among village aunts and uncles but its actually shocking just how many younger people in China are utterly convinced the foolish world and their hospitals can't understand the godlike healing powers of Chinese special techniques.
but no, actually that box of mushroom smoke is not actually going to cure the cancerous growth by 'rebalancing hot and cold water' and this shlt.
As for the caner part here. yes this probably will happen because just a decade ago, we recall and uncle dying of cancer. I knew it was cancer. The cancer actualy grew outside his own skin before he died of cancer. Just 10 years ago the villagers "knew" he had too much 'heat' in the area because he frequently drank very cold water on very hot days. to my memory there was not 'post mortem' and just 10 years ago they still simply put them outside and carry out the burial. no doctors were ever involved. So, there is no such registration of a cancer death.
HOWEVER,
In fact, now they ARE starting to have hospital engagement and doctors verify who died and what they died from. 10 years ago almost NOBODY ever died from ANY diseases (since nothing is registered as such other than deceased) but all were reported to have died from 'drinking hot/cold water and imbalance of heat' I'd assume, only thing i ever heard of,
so, you WILL now start getting a huge uptick in cancer deaths .. since... well since they just officially report them not that there is more.
the next problem is, as mentioned, WAY TOO MANY Chinese will dick around for months and months putting 'smoke boxes' and drinking buckets of lemongrass and frog tea and by the time they realize the cancer is obviously getting much much worse they seek treatment at a 'western hospital'. but its now too late.
Many of those will have been cancer that COULD have been caught and stopped and stalled in most any other culture and country but instead will only get proper treatment when it's months or years too late.
and that's my take on it.

Around 5:00 they discuss something I've seen enough of to confirm: vast majority, the strong rule, few exceptions, whenever you see a successful entertainer, magic, comedy, singing, puppets, whatever it is - they worked relentlessly to get and stay there. They put in the '10,000 hours' they did the dedicated practice. They did not just happen to be 'blessed with great dancing feet' but spent and still spend 12 hours a day dedicated to dance moves. They weren't not just somehow lucky to be a wizard with a guitar but put in uncountable time and work and practice. Gladwell's Outliers are very very real and the constant rule.
Yes, the ODD rare event aka 'The exception that proves the rule' streaks through now and then. One-hit wonders occur (actually most of those also took tremendous time and practice) but the rare 'fluke viral sensation' can zoom around too but please do NOT believe that is how it works as an otherwise very strict rule. I saw a magician do that simple 'appearing cane' thing but the way he did it look REALLY GOOD. Even if you know its a cheap expanding prop it STILL looked effing amazing how he did it. I realized he did it 1000 times, the guy who'd go find the lighting, perfectly pick exact angles, redo practice dozens of times until, on THAT specific night in exactly that specific stage with those specific lights he had perfection. and that was just the opening 5 seconds of his act!! 5 flawless excellent seconds.

There isn't really a nation called 'The West' anymore than there is your imagined nation 'The Asia'.
China's population, around 970 million here in 2025 makes up around 15% of the worlds total estimated population.
China's Mainland is actually one of the most fascinating populations in the world today because it's currently experiencing a rate of decline so massive, so fast that experts say they cannot find any other example in human history.
This is a population that was once 1.2 billion and will actually drop to HALF its population in a single generation at this rate. down to 600 million people by 2050!
By then, the population of China is expected to make up less than 7% of the worlds population and just 13% of 'East Asia' population.
It will be tiny in comparison to Asia.
But wait because there is more. Population, just as a number, this isn't really good, bad or maybe nothing or great or terrible.
In Chinas Mainland, before Amerika lifted 800 million Chinese out of extreme poverty, a massive population was a detriment, a terrible problem that burdened the failures and caused horrific starvation deaths and malnutrition.
India, now at 1.4 billion, making China's 970 seem small in comparison, is not really BETTER for it and arguably this is a major problem weakening every Indians lives when they don't have the infrastructure, the food the systems to easily get the best of everything working smoothly.
but there is even much more because a LOT depends on what KIND of population that is.
The 'demographics'.
Take Nigeria for example: Yes, it has 200 million people. Good or bad? Well in their case its a 'Golden 200 Million' because a massive number of their population will be 20 to 60 years old with few old people.
This is GOOD for them. It's what China used to be 30 years ago.
by contrast,
China's Mainland is 970 million but is now entering a terrible demographic: A very very large number of those will be 60+ people with far far fewer '20 to 60' people.
Thats a 'bad 970 million' in that sense.
(ot that people are bad but the demographic makes the sheer population number a burden not an advantage)
so who knows, maybe as China's population continues the most astonishing shrinkage every seen in the history of the world, actually speeding to 50% of its' population it might be GOOD for China?
It might be that China having a tiny population (compared to The West or Asia) MAYBE helps it run more smoothly and increase wealth per person? We will have to wait and see.

@jasonnacci4091 It's worth mentioning that the 'Boomer' generation has often been dubbed the wealthiest and most privileged to opportunity in human history. I don't know if it was Zeihan or Gladwell but said that Boomers in the USA (and most of the Anglosphere) actually had to deliberately sabotage their lives to NOT prosper. The Boomers (then the 'Hippy' generation) really could dropout of college (paying todays equiv of $5000 a year) and party for 3 years at hippy festivals, return to 'work life' at age 25 and buy their 'starter house' at age 30 and by age 40 the 3-bedroom and by age 60 their house was worth 30X what they paid for it. That generation could semi-retired at age 55 earning more as "consultants" than a full-time 35 year old could hope to earn today. The Boomer generation was unique in another sense in that their world was made for them, their age group, every product, lifestyle, entertainment was relentlessly made FOR their peak age cohort. Boomers were one of the rarest generations where they could actually switch to entirely different careers and only continue earning more each year of work. They were so full of hope, education and high standards that they believed themselves to be 'the purpose' of life itself and they had every reason to believe that.
Boomers had among the highest recreational (and prescription for that matter) drug use of all-time.
Infamously, the wealthiest most socially privileged Boomers were the ones who started mass popular marijuana use and hence their 'hippy culture' is forever associated with the 'Cheech and Chong' culture but it wasn't just their mass consumption of marijuana but they even invented new drugs that didn't even exist before them: LSD. A very powerful drug and hence our strong association with Boomers 'tune-in-turn-on-dropout' and the wild and weird Beatles 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' Sgt Pepper wild hallucination culture which was soon trumped by the Boomers next great massive drug intake: Cocaine. As Boomers entered their 30s they were already working on what to do with their income and all the free time they had and behold 'Disco' and people have joked that 'Club 54' itself probably funded a dozen Columbian crime families into relentless labor-shortages for the cocaine demands of Boomers - one of the wealthiest generations to ever live. That cocaine didn't stop as Boomer leveled up into the next levels of success, social power and all the purposes they wanted in the 'Wolf of Wall Street' Era.
Boomers, many now going into their 40s and looking at age 50 were so full of capital, that sweet capital and it was their time to take over Wall Street and stock markets everywhere and they did not forget to take their cocaine!
Many experts have noted that you can also watch drug consumption patterns by simply following the wealthy opportunity-blessed Boomers peak aging. As Boomers (peak age, that big clump of cohorts all within 6 years of each other) as they get to around 50 years old there is a concurrent surging of 'opiates' or 'painkillers' that aren't just new drugs being made and consumed but we're also talking the overuse of them.
Why, well because around age 50 a Boomer is no longer interested in having cocaine-driven heart attacks nor will they be disco-dancing until the sun rises. Boomers getting nervous about market collapses and the thought of not retiring with at least 1 million net worth at age 60 want something that keep them calm, sedate AND more importantly might be able to keep living well despite the groaning lower back pains, the old folks knees, the arthritis being a real downer on their bi-yearly three week vacations to Maui and so the opiates rise and so do the valiums for the menopausal lady boomers who live off a handful of benzos and a red wine and talk about how they worked their way through college to pay for it by waitressing on weekends and why can young people do the same? The Boomer husband on a handful of Opiodes rubs his shoulders and notes that's why his shoulder is so bad now because he worked his way through college by giving tennis lessons on the weekend. Both will consume all the alcohol their parents and grandparents generation did but far far more drugs, more powerful drugs and far more often than any generation before them.
Here is a baffling statistic claimed by some expert observers:
The next generation (which has no name other than 'the children of baby boomers) would come of age at around the worst ever time for hope, opportunities or finding purpose. They'd come of age in a world where there was ever drug available to their parents the Boomers, in as much supply and they'd come up in the late 1980s to stunningly high unemployment rates. The 'downsizing era' and where, as far as they could see into the future, more and more jobs were being shipped overseas, there would be far far less 'advancement' even if you could find a job and they would be absolutely held down by any and all Boomers who had the total run of everything on earth at that point.
That generation (today are around 50 years old) that generation is thought to have used LESS DRUGS than their parents generation. In fact, nearly the only pop-culture drug movement they're associated with was the peculiar 'Straight-Edge' culture. A strange thing where.. and think about this... NOT doing drugs was an act of rebellion. A 'counter-culture'.
That cant be a 'thing' unless Boomers, the 'establishment' had indeed normalized drug use.
This generation might be seen in TV characters like 'Alex P Keaton' who would tease his 'hippy parents' about how they were probably high on weed or must have done some drugs. "hhaa.. wow you really did have some good drugs back then didn't you mom and dad" as the audience chuckled knowingly about those '60s' days.
This belief that if only people have a benevolent government that develops sophisticated social services that give everyone hope, opportunity and education then we'll see drug use and abuse simply cannot and demonstrably has not panned out as any kind of rule.
I can think of Boomers in my own circle who will, to this day, still go down memory lane to what it was like back then. One recounted "we could tell our boss to go eff himself, go to a three day hippy festival, get baked out of our minds, come back and we'd get hired back. If not, we'd walk across the street and get hired that afternoon by another company and recounts having a working class job but saving up for a few months and buying a new Trans-Am with cash, outright and how that car plus a bag of cocaine and a disco ball had them swimming in the p-word every weekend.
They also insist that the drugs were way better back then. Then again, they also insist that marijuana today is wayyyy more brutally powerful so I don't really know lol

For legitimate reasons I was prescribed opiates (several times over life) and the doctors get very anxious, they keep mentioning 'addiction' and all this but sincerely speaking here: It never once affected my actual day to day employment, my duties, even in a job where I needed to be on-the-ball, alert, carry out many specific tasks, communicate clearly with clients etc etc. If anything I was better focused because I was not distracted by chronic pain as much.
Now, on the converse: I once got a prescription for some 'stop smoking' pills called 'Zyban' and became forgetful, clumsy, utterly wrecked fool who probably shouldn't have been driving a car, that's how wacked and stupid they made me. I quit them 3 days later. I guess the point here is that we all have to be keenly aware of what any drug is (or isn't) doing to us, our body, perhaps our mindset and thinking is part of it. Be aware. Know what your genetic happenstance can handle or handles poorly. That is all.

Ultimately, nobody can ever know the truth but there are some major observations and calculations that strongly conclude 'beyond a reasonable doubt' that China's population is easily below 1 Billion. Maybe as LOW as 800 million but most seem to aggregate it to around 970 million. Why? 1000 different measures but some of them:
- The Shanghai Data Leak (err.. probably not actually 'hackers' but a vengeful leak during the Shanghai gang persecutions).
This is so massive that still 1000s of of online volunteers are combing through it and it seems impossible to calculate over 1 billion people from this.
- People think this sounds funny but many exporters carefully note things like salt (no, seriously) tampons, baby formula and 100 other things China imports that are reliable indicators of a living person.
- Seemingly simplistic but: Google Earth. Nope, not just nerds trying to 'count people' from the sky but what they can do is monitor how (example) 20 rural villages were removed at least 3 years ago. Replaced with industrial farmland. They can even see "20 villages worth of newly opened high-rises" in a nearby city. However, China's official numbers STILL count the population of that rural area AS IF those people still live there AND then the real people who've moved to the city.
- Officially China has agreed it's previous census over-counted and there are some wacky reasons for that and yes they blame local governments for doing it. So they will say, yes, there was a 200 million overcount back then, 15 years ago, agreed!
YET,
While ammending that number at that time, they do NOT amend the following years. If you see what I mean, they carry on estimating population grown AS IF that '200 million' must have still existed, had 1.8 children. I suck at math but you get the idea, the math is screwed up and can't be right.
While it's true that no single given area can conclude the entire nation, we do things like count the decline in NEW kindergarten signs-ups which have been consistently less and less for going on 5 straight years.
Then we make a dog-walk game of counting lights or activity in the apartments or hotels around our neighborhood. 20% occupancy, this might be 50% but that one is still seemingly 100% unoccupied like it was 3 years ago.

@mildredfranks1980 No, its not more 'advanced' than I think and I didn't just learn about this debt holding from you ffs.
No, including that, something Chinese want to keep and don't want to lose, this does not bring them close to be a 'Equal Rival' to the USA.
China is much weaker, much poorer, much less powerful nation on this earth that is not 'near' the USA, its not the upcoming new contender who might be able to beat the champ, the USA and China are NOT 'two superpowers clashing'.
Yet,
China has convinced it's people that must be the case and that is a very dangerous belief.
btw about 85 years ago another East Asian nation did just exactly that and ended up getting badly badly wrecked learning the hard way that they were not the 'Eastern USA' and the great 'rival superpower' of the Pacific, as if two great equal rivals.
China wants to FAFO for some stupid reason.

I swear, this is not a made-up thing but I legit, sincerely, I had a flashback to being around 11 years old and somehow this was the only unread comic I had left. At 11 the name itself annoyed me. 'Kraven' why would that be the name? 'Craven is 'lacking courage, defeated, given up'.
Then he is... not a cyborg, not a demigod, not magical or super but.. A hunter?
Koward the animal killer? and I loved animals so the comic is a normal guy with a stupid name who kills animals?
Anyway, I swear, all this came back to me, nearly to the flashback very moment I discarded it after 2 pages and stopped reading comic books. I'm not even joking, I mean, this is what actually ended my 11 year old love of comics.

@wangjue6120 I need you to grab this:
Indeed, the UN decided to count ONLY ONE CHINA.
It does NOT tell you 'Only ONE People's Republic of China'.
This is the part Chinese mainlanders simply cannot figure out and they need to get this They do NOT consider the 'one China' to be 'The Peoples Republic of China.
You need to get that.
'One China' is all the parts (50 years ago) which was one part being The PRC and another part of China is the RoC.
You need to grasp that.
Not hta ta UN resolution decides what parts of China do or don't do.
You asked about who is really living in their own world.
This is the meaningful question after all, what is 'de facto'.
'de facto' is what is really, physically, actually the situation?
Taiwan has its own mlitary, is own land mass, its own currency, its own passports, it has it's own ruling government and systems, its has its own name and flag and then it has zero obligation to the PRC part of China, it doesn't answer to them, it doesn't follow it's instructions.
So the question is a good one: who is really living in their own seperate, independent nation or 'country' and that is Taiwan.
Likewise, The PRC (sometimes called West Taiwan) is also living in its own separate independent state, own currency, its own passports, its own military, its own governing systems etc etc.
It's true that both claim to be the true rulers of China (the UN China, not the PRC part of China) but practically, realistically, we say 'in material real life practice' in 'De facto' they are really living in their own world and so are the Mainlanders.

In all seriousness and I can ask people to look at it objectively (so don't get hung up on your political team) but it seems abundantly clear one of Trump's biggest 'mandates' was to "clean the swamp" and this is to say, a massive undoing of the most expensive, arrogant gatekeepers on the planet: Bureaucrats. unelected Karens and Kevin's who RULE THE NATION and do it in the crappiest most expensive little ways. They are beyond convinced they are untouchable and see themselves as deciding who shall be punished, canceled, harassed and that they make-or-break lives.
In fact, most Democrats who voted for Kamala WILL actually agree that a massive number of these 200k a year (and the sweet juicy benefits, retirement schemes would make most working people sick if they knew). An absolutely chunk of them have to go.
I'd say most Democrats would agree they would like to see a whole lot of these big money 'Big Pharma' big medicine, big insurance these too have decided they are now a 'branch of government' and are our lords, out bosses, who we grovel and beg to, who will decide politics, social rules and money allocation.
Elon Musk might be a wacky autistic socially awkward nut with goofy ideas but he absolutely is the guy to set upon government employees and orgs with cost-cutting hell.
He found Twitter BLOATED with 1000s of do-nothings who were eating snacks and deleting comments they disliked and acting like this turd kings and queens.
ZOOP! A week later he had it down to a hardcore team of just a few hundred.
Say what you want but he is a genius at running lean mean machines without offices full of middle-management goofs doing nothing but take massive salaries that make the end product cost more than people can afford.
RFK is a guy to let loose on cutting back on govt health departments.
and the USA doesn't need to fund 'WHO' anymore.

@jeffcahill5722 That's disingenuous as all over Canada adult men walk home at 3 and 4 am all the time, you'd see it tonight in Toronto or Airdrie Alberta and then there is something else:
You, like many, just describing your FEELINGS instead of what actualy is or is not objectively happening.
Then you have another distinction you're failing to make with your 1970 New York vs 1970s Moscow thing:
You're also describing a foreigners walking home at 3am in China (or the original Moscow Alley'.
Then you need to keep in mind this 'New York Alley vs Moscow Alley' was NOT the confession that Soviet propagandists (and now the Chinese repeaters) think that it was. Yes, in the 1970s New York did have dangerous alleys,
but,
The "I can walk home at midnight through any Moscow alley and be safe (or 'feel safe') was as much a criticism of the harsh surveillance and police state, the authoritarianism and how the foreign authors were aware KGB and such were monitoring their every move.
HOWEVER,
HOWEVER,
You weren't even being asked about any of that but rather why you think China is exceptionally safe.
put aside whatever you think 'safe' is and why you'd believe its 'Exceptional'.
There are some 200 nations on earth. yep, some (and some places in some times) are worse. Honduras or Mozambique are 'exceptionally unsafe' but about 170 nations are pretty average.
Not how you 'feel safe' either but objectively and statistically etc, you are almost certain to never get assaulted in Japan, or kidnapped in Korea or murdered in some alley in Laos or Canada or Switzerland and actually MOST nations are within a few statistical points of each other varying up and down but overall close.
but,
you believe China PRC is 'exceptional' and is that because of something else but you, as a foreigner, once walked home at 3am and felt like you weren't going to get assaulted?

To the socio-political world, the defeat of Hezbollah, Hamas and now the near end of Iran as a dangerous anti-western regime its these western domestic marxists that are the most devastated.
Oberg there, the agony shows through him, the absolute existential sorrow as he realizes his entire life was dedicated to killing god and capitalism and it was all for nothing. He lives his last years seeing all he believed in weakening, being upturned, being 'set back' as his mind could only believe some secular humanist socialism would, obviously progress and progress.
Then you have the young communist. For him, the realization this imagined block of Marxist anti-western Islamic Jihadis would be one of his SS type resources. but now? in less than a year they're being slapped into the ground and made to disappear.
Sure it sucks to be Hamas (well, whatever remains of them) or Hezbollah that was just about embarrassed into surrending and doesn't want to talk about it. Sucks to be Iran and realize it was pretty easily beaten by Israel/US who had less of a 'war' and simply decided to end them 'at will' like it was just a normal work week for them.
HOWEVER,
The two TDS-infected commies on this panel, for them its proper, demon-screeching existential hell on their minds and souls. for them, they are really the hardest hit.

More people in more 1st world nations started to realize that far far too much of this 'foreign aid' was actually facilitating all kinds of evil and oppression. no greater example was seen in Haiti after Canada, US, dozens of the wealthier countries dump millions to 'Help Haiti'. A year later a reporter goes to Haiti and is promptly made to pay a 'protection gang' so he can find out how the new schools are going. After all, 10 million Canadian dollars to 'rebuild schools' yes.
As best anyone can tell, there is a lot of former schools STILL piles of rubble. As if left exactly as they fell.
However..
There was a warlord who had, somehow, surprisingly, a pleasure Yacht and a 'captains hat' and also a gang of 'rubber necklace' enforcers and some sweet gold jewelry.
Though, months later there was an update that 'Captain BigPussy' or whatever his name was apparently overthrown and so was his crew and apparently some other murderous warlords took over. No word on the yacht yet.
1000 examples of this. That money ends up causing murders, slavery, evil crimes of all sorts, all kinds of mischief and over and over again does nothing but hurt the actual innocent poor people it was supposedly intended for.

Yep, Rob was the first I ever heard call this out and its perfect, its the perfect term to describe it.
It's the comfortable middle-class kids who discovered they could buy (then more expensive) 'pre-worn' jeans and thus take the 'working class status' the grit badge of the poor kids.
The other thing I found so soooo strange is how many lily white suburbanites found a way to 'confess' they are of a higher social status. As a relentless example, I was watching a 'Charlie Kirk' channel where students take turns coming to a mic to challenge his right-wing type beliefs.
Over and over, you'll see upper-middle class Jennifer make sure she introduces herself and saying things "OK so Frst offff.. I know I'm priviileged because I'm white, so ya, of course I can only see things through my privilged class experience as a white person..
Wow.
Look, just a few decades ago, EVEN IF Chad and Lisa thought of themselves as privileged and above those 'poors and brownies' Chad and Lisa DIDN"T ANNOUNCE THAT TO EVERYONE PUBLICLY LOL!?
I suppose they spread it around that 'actually my great great grandfather came off the Mayflower'. but in a public event they didn't take a microphone and start by introducing themselves 'First off, everyone, just so you know I'm Chadley from a wealthier white family, hey guys!'.
Anyway, yes, a lot of these things we came to call 'Woke' but Rob is bang-on right these come out of a 'luxury beliefs' kind of social status game.
What's actually yuckier imo, it really spread around where the 'wannabe status' people starting doing it. The slightly lower middle class Jennifer knows to talk that way AS IF she can afford such a luxury belief (she cant but appearances appearances).

8:56 comes one of my great annoyances as terms are misused and the original helpful definition is erased.
The term 'snowflake'. Some insist the use (for a generation) came from a New York sociologist and I mention the location because to New Yorkers a 'snowflake' is a DANGER SIGN.
To most of Canada and much of Europe a 'snowflake' represents 'the heartiest of times'. Get hearty!! Winter is coming. In the mountains a 'snowflake symbol' means get ready to risk death.
At some point people in California and Britain decided "snowflakes are things that melt easily! so it must mean a generation that we laugh as they easily melt down.
HOWEVER, despite a 'snowflake' being a sign of danger, a long long lasting challenge (winter) that actually has nothing to do with anything.
The term 'Snowflake' generation is a summary of a new and radically different childhood education shift that takes place in the 1970s when the Boomer (doesn't mean' people who explode easily) the 'Hippy' generation become the new bosses and admins and child-shapers of the world.
'Snowflake' points to the childrens book, replacing 'Dr Seuss' and replacing the 'little Engine that could' with a new belief that you don't need to attain confidence, you don't need merit, you were not born sinful but intead you are like a SNOWFLAKE and did you know every snowflake is unique?
No two are alike!
and yet, every individual is inherently, as formed, each as beautiful and wonderful as any other!
and when ALL the snowflakes come together... (flip the children's book page to a 2-page 'Christmas' beautiful scene of a fresh new snowfall) They area ALLLll beautiful together! wowww.
Barney is not another term for 'wimp'. for 'softie' but a similar term was used 'The Barney Generation' which is the same idea but in children's programming. A big purple dinosaur goes around telling chlidren in a mantra, a chant; You are PERFECT and you are beautiful in EVERY WAY becasue You are YOU!.
Same as 'Snowflakes' are each perfectin their own way because they are formed that way so they are.
A reminder that a 'Snowflake' is a symbol of hearty and longsuffering challenge, dangerous road risks across half the planet. Not a symbol of 'warning: something wimpy that melts easily ahead'.

Yep, while I feel for a lot of honest hardworking Chinese I can tell you that in 2016, when they pretended America was 'starting a Trade War' with China (in fact, Trump only ever responded to their 20 year long trade war) but the number of these students at the time, the sneering, the twisted glee, the arrogant pre-boasting of how.. and this was the phrase... "Hehe now China will punish Trump!". Smirking grins about how the USA was about to be 'Punished' for daring to try and fight God-Nation China.
Nowwww the USA will learn it's lesson and be punished. the sneering grins.
This disgusting arrogance, the "Now CHINA is the Captain NOW!!" , the arrogance so grotesque they believe they can command reality to change if they wanted to make the 'USA Virus' become believed by all.
PLENTY of these now unemployed 30 years olds were, just 10 years ago, many just 5 years ago and STILL many today think nothing of boasting about God China and how they will 'punish' everyone and fantasizing about 'The West' now being humiliated by their Godlike superiority as they grovel and squirm at what they deserve from GodChina.
Funny but it only took a few years of NOT giving them lots of money, aid, special charity status and lower standards and their already a little less certain they will 'Punish The West' immediately.
But, they STILL believe that 'soon', eventually, Chinagod WILL make them have more money than 'The West' and punish them and Japan and India and ... not now. but its prophecy, it WILL happen eventually.

I'd like Mark to talk about something I can only see as confirmation of the scam:
Here we are turning to 2025.
The results are in, time has passed. Did anyone ever see any of the Scammers lose a thing? Were any demoted? but the converse as well. To the many people, healthcare world people too, many said that these masks would do nothing, '6ft distance' was fake nothinginess. Did any of them get promoted? Raises, better resumes, going up in the world?
No.
Ok because at any place I ever worked - if you were wrong, if you're ideas proved to fail, if you screwed up on predictions and preventions you would then LOSE something. Actually you might be outright fired. At least you no longer got to be the head of the XYZ department. Because, y'know, the company wants 'better rather than worse'.
Likewise, the guy who was criticizing it all along, who said 'that isn't right, doesn't work', MIGHT be given that promotion, become the new head of XYZ because, y'know, they really want the person who gets things correct to be getting things correct going forward.
But yet, in my country (Canada) not a single one of these people has done anything but fail upwards. Many have been given awards for how they 'battled covid' and 'saved millions of lives' and are STILL the same authority they were before they got everything wrong.
Never saw the others who were 'canceled' or penalized or just ignored, the ones who were CORRECT I don't know, they don't seem to be getting more authority and positions of greater trust.
Which tells me and really confirms to me that they still do not truly care about 'protecting the public' and trying to stop anything because, should an outbreak occur again, the same people who were WRONG are stll going to be in charge.

So.. Egyptians, and this is the great pyramid era, as far as we can tell they would have certainly been part of the same Mediterranean world, the same trading, sharing, even though we don't classify them as the same 'people' you're pretty much talking about the same peoples of their time.
Rome and it's great works are going to show up a whole lot later and Egypt would be a part of Rome and the Roman world. So, what you're trying to grab at here doesn't really work how you'd want it to make you the anti-racist hero catching racists.
As for American natives, this is also awkward because you'd need to be talking about 'Meso-America' because there really isn't any such things elsewhere. You'd be talking about much later (mind you, still crazy ancient times era for some big buildings).
Anyway, you're the racist, after all.

@landlord-g5y Thats all good and wonderful or not but what I'm pointing out is a Chinese State Media to have everyone carry out this strange narrative that 'we all know what a failure Ukrainians/Nato were and how they got beaten and learned a harsh lesson".
They use the word 'Ukraine' as if we all obviously know how thta turns out for the Ukraine losers!'.
This a strange choice but especially if we keep pretending China is the 'Russia' in this analogy.
1. love them or hate them or don't care but its legit astonishing that Russia didn't just fail to take over Ukraine but they actuall invaded a part of RUSSIA and still havent left.
Really, wrap your head around that, they actually invaded Russian land and took over Kursk region.
Russia is actually fighting the Ukrainians OUT of Russia.
2. If Russia finally broke through and took Kiev tomorrow its a case of the 'Most horrible victory in the modern world'.
They "won" by having a significant chucnk of their young me killed off and more with meat-grinder life injuries.
Wow what a victory!
3. Can you imagine the national embarrassment China would have to endure if, after 4 years they had only taken control of a clump of Pinoy Islands BUT lost a a southern part of Hainan, literally Philipinos putting their flags on Sanya buildings and running around Chinese soil,
AND,
this was 4 years in with absolute mountains of dead PLA bodies being piled up years after year/
and they're hiring North Koreans and Mercenaries and at best they've grinded out a few more islands but day after day the world gets 'PLA Chinese WRECKED by Pinoy Drone AGAIN!!' like its normal to see that on youtube.
and a reminder:
Not China vs Russia or Japan or some large equal power but The Philippines!
A relatively small, poor country that every Chinese believes would easily bend their knees and beg the PLA Wolf Warriors to please 'take our women but please don't hurt us' as they feel the true power of earths mighty Godwarrir...
...no instead they are in a horrific stalemate with The Philippines, the PLA Navy is pretty much sunk.
Good gad, if I was a the Chinese State Media guys I'd beg putting out a new directive:
DO NOT Mention 'Ukraine' and DO NOT make any reference to that where ANYONE wold think of China as 'Russia' getting absolutely wrecked by a country 1/10th its size in a meat-grinder foreever war. DO NOT say a word that makes anyone liken China to 'Russia vs Ukraine' just do not do that.
but yet, here they are doing it like its a reall clever thing and everyone should like making the comparison. yikesss

It's true there are some morons in our world who actually believe the highest number is a 'score' that gets the superior social status to shame lesser scores. Now just say 6000 years of history. haha.. are you jealous with your lower score of only 5000?
but back here in the adult world, having the 'highest history number' doesn't actually mean 'highest gaokao or money amount score'.
The Congo of Africa has 6000 years of civilization. This is, in itself, not 'high status' or 'low status' or good or bad.
China aka Qin, the Qin can be traced back to 897BC or we can say 2922 years ago. We just 'round off' the number to 3000.
This is the formation of Qin-a or China.
Morons hear this and think "HEY! Why are you DENYING my Higher SCore!? You must be Chinese and are Trying to SHAME me below you!?!
but in real adult world, this is simply all we know of Qin history. That it was founded as a 'culture' a kingdom, as an identifiable people group around 900 BC aka 3000 years ago.
Around 2200 years ago Qin defeated the non-Qin kingdoms to expand into a massive kingdom stretching to the pacific ocean and established 'Qin' all over East Asia, established Qin rules, Qin writing, Qin laws, Qin roads and etc etc.
Yes,
of course,
like everywhere on earth, whole revolutions overturned rulers and kings, of course massive waves of admixture, borrowing and change happened. Yes, the 'Ming' took over then others took over and then it became 3 countries then it became one again.
But we still regard the Qin formation, 3000 years ago as 'China' because they did indeed establish culture, governmance, rules, weights, writing, measurments and those that follow also follow the rules of The Qin aka China.
Yes, even the Mongols who defeated and occupied Chin-a for a century still used the Qin in Qin and were aware they ruled Qin. Hence we say 'Mongols conquered China' instead of calling it 'Mongolia'.
it remains 'Qin' in that sense and finally in 1644 'Qin' is conquered again by the foreign Jerchen aka 'Qing'.
We could say Qin is 2600 years old since it was completely and utterly conquered by the 'Manchu' but here's the thing, even the Manchu still keep Qin writing, Qin measures, Qin systems, they change many thing yes, they even make Chinese dress like foreigners but actually they keep using Qin systems, Qin language.
Hence, we don't say China was wiped off the map and gone. We still say its the remains of the Qin who we only know were established in 2,992 years ago.
Morons with simple brains are nice people but they need to understand 2992 years of history isn't a "lower score".
It's not more 'humiliating' nor is 5000 years the 'highest gaokao score' and thus make your moron peers 'jealous'.
Please grow up.

A real question: Did they make 17 of these Seagal movies at ONE SINGLE Shoot? Because it really seems like.. and think about how this would require some clever stuff... like they spent 2 weeks and really what happens is they do 20 takes at any given spot.
Example, an actress runs in and says a line, he says some line "its Marquez" then she takes off and another actress comes in, Seagall says "Jordan King is behind this!". she runs off, another actress...
that afternoon he is told to fire upwards at the sky 'a helicopter is there, shoot at it' then take 2 "Ok, Sensai, now CIA goons are running at you, spray shots all over', this is done 20 times.
you get the idea.
Then, for months, some editing wizards are splicing ALL of those into 20 different Seagal movies.
That's what we're seeing these last 17 or so Seagal movies yes?

It's close to 12% but you need to keep in mind, just like a person, like in your life, something close to 80% of your money goes to 'food, medicine, blankets, rent, utility bills, socks' which is actually most businesses too.
90% of the corner stores income is leases, inventory etc etc. Only 3% is the actual profit that makes it worth staying in business.
Like you, me, most anyone, 7% or 12% but this is nearly all that is left over for things like improving life, maintenance, 'spending money'.
If you lost 10% of your income you've lost almost all of what we'll call 'non-necessity' money. all expendable money. some call it 'disposable' money meaning you don't need-need it to stay alive just fine. you can spend it on a Netflix subscription if you feel like it.
this is China. They are just poor enough that it takes 93% of their GDP to 'survive' to meet basic needs, to feed people and not freeze to death in winter, to have some hygiene and clean socks.
Losing 7% will be just devastating to the Chinese people. It will be a very significant step down into increased poverty.

So far, so good for the USA. Trump does have the proverbial problem some elected governments have.. "you need to break some eggs to make a great omelette". For almost a decade there is universal agreement that 'onshoring', bringing manufacturing back and equalizing trade imbalances is going to requrie, no escaping it, some short term pains in order to get to the gains.
So far, the American people are accepting that as long as Trump also runs some of the 'short terms gains' too. DOGE and removing millions of the most expensive (see, criminal) illegals does just that, so does and so will impressive tax returns.
As for the 'Isolating' this is fine and what a good many Americans voted for. The USA and more broadly speaking North America (hence some rough stuff getting Canada and Mexico more onboard) but they are a VERY RARE nation that can actually supply itself with nearly everything known to be needed or wanted by mankind.
obviously they'd also like trading and selling, importing, exporting BUT the USA is a very very rare geographical place that can actually run entirely independently with zero need for anything outside itself. Lumber, water, power, minerals, farmlands, oil, gas, etc etc everything.
and just for fun,
they even have a vast landmass where you can live or visit and tour or move to an arctic world, then a hot arid desert world, then a tropical world, then vast farmlands or to mountainous world or to rainforest world.
but to get to their America First types of goals things will need to be undone. things will need to be in flux, some things are going to require a little upfront cost before you get the future gains. In the case of stock markets, there are CEOs who will need to wait a bit before they can make their plans while DOGE and friends redo some things. Its going to cost 60k to get rid of an illegal who costs 40k a year if they're not deported etc.
SO FAR, Trump's been playing it out pretty well and SO FAR most of the voters are with him on it. As long as they see rewards popping up (gas prices going down for example) they will accept some other items being a bit more, or their income tax at least doesn't go UP this year.
btw, CGTN has been really playing up on stock markets dropping as if that is the new 'GDP' imaginary gaokao score to see 'The West is failing' and this horseshlt but if we play along with this? Ok, lets play along:
Stock markets arent down 3% because the world is saying "grrr.. I disapprove and America is worse Hrmphh.. see how its worth less now!".
No,
This is happening because a lot of people with fists full of money go to extraordinary levels of planning around policies, budget summaries and knowing what WILL be the new '2025-2030' way of things.
So they are holding back a little because these big CEOs want to wait a bit to see DOGE final results, what agencies are done and what Trumps final maximum tariffs are.
and so they should. they are prudent that way, good for them,
but,
make no mistake they have all the big wallets of money they most definitely intend to be filling up the US stock market with, oh they have plenty BUT yes they are going to hold back, wait for a bit.
I hope that helps. I don't know how any of that can help China's current economic collapse and inevitable road back to poverty but hopefully that helps understand why the USA doesn't need to have things manufactured in China and while it may happily buy lots of resources at low low prices it can actually produce it domestically if need be.

I would like some of the under-employed to ask themselves if, 7 years ago, they remember doing things like:
- Smirking about how China would punish the USA
- Chuckling about how the USA and The West were drooling with jealousy and little cowards scared of Godchina.
- Calling something 'The American Virus'
- Self-congratulating themselves for already surpassing the USA to be number one!
- Getting into masturbatory fervor about smashing the 'roaches' in Hong Kong and then punishing Japan?
- Crowing about how Trump was going to get forced to his knees and peed on as punishment for DARING to challenge China.
etc, etc, etc,
For those who were doing such things, maybe you want to stop and think about that for a minute or two. Was it really a great idea that the MOMENT all the Western money, Western investment, the USA and 'The West' started to bring you to modern standards you decided 'HEHEHE NOW WE THE CAPTAIN NOW!!" and reveal that actually now we don't need you anymore and will PUNISH YOU!
Was that actually a good plan, after all?
Maybe, let me suggest: Maybe that kind of shltty Haitian boat pirate attitude wasn't actually a good move and might even be one of the singled dumbest, most embarrassing, most face-losing, public shaming Low IQ choice any people have ever made in recent world history?
and for the many hardworking Chinese who didn't participate in that disgusting display: Sorry for you. I just hope you don't have to keep paying for what a bunch of rubbish Xiao-ren countrymen did to everyone.

A thought about 20:00 but for a few years I worked alongside Drug Rehab/Police/Justice system world and by 21:00 in this walkthrough I'd suggest that The King in Yellow could be 'Fentanyl' today. Drugs.
Bear with me..
although it wasn't the first time this thinking ever happened, around 2019 our North American city was absolutely at the lowest of lows with a seemingly uncontrollable supply of deadly drugs and people dying from them. At wit's end, at a point they were just 'decriminalized',
things got VERY deadly when Covid "lockdowns" happened and I guess you can look at it this way:
- Severe addicts were suddenly given 'covid money' to stay inside their house of 5 other junkies with (what is to them) a massive windfall of money. They bought bags and bags of drugs and the deadiest part is they didn't have to go out every morning stealing, scamming and working their legs.
Death after death.
and a lot of people, behind closed doors though UNSAID but in a kind of eerie 'knowing' wanted to accept:
Let them.
So be it.
Some likened it to 'Darwinianism' and really the best thing, even the 'right thing' is that those who'd eliminate themselves with the overdoes 'ought to' and remove themselves.
For others, it just simply benefits more of the responsible contributors if the takers, the madmen, the drug fiends remove themselves, and so be it, that is what they wanted and why pay to extend the miserable inevitable?
For others, no 'social good' needed. These nasty, intimidating criminals are filthy, toxic, break into my car, kicked my dog and they'd be happy to boo them as their bodies are pulled out of the alleys.
Decriminalize as much as possible because nothing better than letting them walk into their own execution chambers.
Though there was no such politically incorrect acceptance ever spoken by anyone, any elected, any justice people, not any media and YET: a strong belief that it was better to let those who 'would go mad into addiction' to simply let them.
If Im just that far into this story, I'd strongly suggest the 'Yellow King' is.. heroin. Opium.
(heck, to make it fun, at the time, opium may have been associated with China already (?) and Qin Xi Huang is 'The Yellow Emperor' and we still think of the emperors wearing the yellow silk roads. just adding that for fun thoughts)

If they can keep it going at 1000 per day. I'm just going to go with 300,000 a year. Lets say.
Not everyone knows this but there is a fairly strong 1-1 rule with Self Deportation. (some say its 2-1 but lets just go 11).
So, at this rate, we could suppose 600,000 a year.
we could expect to see something like 2.4 million deported in Trumps 4-year term.
So keeping in mind, the number given is usually 11 million illegals at this moment. This isn't really what it seems like. 11 million is only the number of "known illegals". Which is to say, there is, at least, SOME kind of accounting of them, some paperwork, some count happened on someone at some time.
Some of our best experts believe that there may be as many as 30 million. No joke. others say its 20, almost everyone agrees that '11 million' cannot be them all because (obviously) a big thing is never being seen or counted or documented in any way.
Question now,
Is 300k a year really enough to make a real significant difference? Now keeping in mind that there is going to be constantly replacement illegals. (not just border runners but those on expired visas for example).
IMO, I would say they need to strongly consider ramping up the money from congress, tripling those beds, even if for a year at a time and really aiming for something much closer to 2.4 million PER YEAR not the entire 4 years.
That gets very very close to the actual 11 million. Of course many more will be around BUT you've removed the large identified bulk of the problem to where it's more like small cleanups for whatever Vances terms.

ya but here's my question: How? How is it possible that almost every single time I'm on a bullet train I am sat beside a villager that promptly takes his shoes and socks off and gets those browned feet all over the seats AND/OR someone who is shouting into his video wechat about 'orders, big orders' and yes shouting into the screen because, as many Chinese believe, the person is actually behind the phones glass and you shout into the center of the glass so they can hear you.
AND,
how, how on earth did i go on a perfect 6 trip losing streak where either front, back or beside, they got themselves a huge piping hot bag full of ultra-steam noodles and soups so that steam, in that small sealed cabin, can saturate my clothes and skin so I stink like 'Old Friend Noodles' for the rest of the days.
Once I got a 'Hat Trick' where I had phone shouting guy, stink noodles AND shoeless joe getting those legs right up on the seat fabric, really grind that foot dirt in that seat felt... ALL SIDES. It was amazing.
How can this happen by random chance? It cannot. My wife didn't believe me, we get on together, right beside us, grubby fee guy who gets those shoes off so he can stand on that chair putting his bag up on something. She just looked at me like 'holeeee shlt you were serious" We took a picture of his feet.
How can this be random?
The ONLY thing I can come up with is for some insane reason, maybe they hate foreigners? Or its some kind of 'Prank' Chinese ticket sellers pull on us?
It cannot be random that's how every single time thats right beside me.
OR,
Is there something about a kind of Chinese travelers that was NOT going to do that, saw they were seated beside a foreigner and thinks "you know what.. I'm going to impress this foreigner by shouting into my phone and/or BLASTING douyin videos with that 'HER HERRRR HER HERR laugh at the volume of 11" AND one thing I was always told is that foreigners love is seeing blackened raw feet smearing around on the seats SO I better do that now to help this foreigner feel comfortable!".
Though, since I have that streak: I really do get seated beside a nice looking single lady traveler more than not. Not that I'm going to hook up but it seems more than not.

This channel is usually really good with research and avoiding internet BS but I have to call this out. I'm just 2 minutes in and there is a LOT of the currently trending 'anti-Megachurch bigotry' and urban legends and propaganda going on. Since I have been in church circles all over the place let me call some things out:
1. The term 'Megachurch' is actually meaingless. It's not a 'Thing'. There is no such denomination as 'megachurchian'. I'm playing Anti-Semantics because there is no point to 'megachurch' anymore than 'Minichurches'.
1.a) The only thing 'megachurch' is describing is any large church of any denomination of which there are many and some have 'Minichurches' and then they have lots of 'Midchurches' etc.
2. But they aren't necessarily wealthy churches per congregant. Like 'GDP per person'. India need not be called a 'Megacountry' but yes in total they have one of the largest GDPs on earth. BIG MonEy India!
but no, per person they are one of the poorer countries (ranked like 110 out of 200?)
Likewise a 'megachurch' may be no 'wealthier' than the minichurch of 15 old ladies or the Midchurch of 100 members.
3. I wouldn't cross the street to visit Joel Osteen but you're repeating the sneaking thing: He lives in a 10 million dollar mansion. That isn't his. I lived in a 100 million dollar hotel.
Osteen is living in the churches headquarters which does indeed have a church mansion and that mansion does indeed have some other clergy and congregants living in it, likewise, so they have emergency shelters, they have 'retreats' where 100s of members live in a 10 million dollar resort for a weekend and so on.
and Osteen did indeed make 2 million dollars over the last 20 years... the same way Bernie Sanders did... and Obama...
by writing a book and having a LOT of people freely pay for his book. Which had nothing to do with the churches income, wealth or donations.
4. BS when you make a nefarious tone around employeeing people. 'Midchurches' will hire full-time pastors, secretaries, administrators and cleaners. Maybe 1 or 2 of each. 'Microchurches' may have employed 1 part-time pastor. the 'Megachurch' (just describing a very large church) do indeed hire as many 'per congregant' so yes they have 10 admins, 5 full-time pastors, 4 secretaries etc. This is not 'nefarious' or 'like a Megacorporation' anymore than anyone else needs staff.
5 Is the biggest BS callout I can make:
There certainly ARE 'Prosperity Gospel' churches, Microchurches, Medichurches and there is a few that have a Megachurch. however a 'Megachurch' is not therefore a prosperity gospel church.
A number of these 'Megachurches' (which is not a denomination just a size description) some are strictly ANTI-Prosperity Gospel and have been militating against such things for 30 years long before anyone on the internet pretended they were 'exposing' this old thing that has faded away.

@levin36 Black people in American is most definitely 'cultural genocide' which is to say the African population brought to America, yes, absolutely.
Their original African languages disappeared, customs, they are mixed into the greater popuation and took on the identical culture of the surrounding 'Southerners' aka 'rednecks' aka what were really a lot of Scot-Irish types in those states and for that matter then dispersed across the USA.
This is the fate of the Uighurs (so far so good) who will indeed learn Mandarin as their 1st language while Han imports will take Uighur language classes but it will all be forgotten as they are reassigned to living locations spread out all over the Eastern predominantly Han region.
As a living real time example: the young Uighur couple recently sent to Nanning (around 23 years old) primarily speak Mandarin most of the time. They newborn (born in Nanning City) will probably know just a little. Not unlike most of the ethnicities in Guangxi, Zhuang for example where only grandparents might actually speak the ethnic languages.
In around 15 years, all these newborns, though both parents are Uighur who grew up in Xinjiang, but will be indistinguishable from a local 'Han' high school student.
(or Zhuang for that matter who are already indistinguishable) and in 20 years will marry a 'Han' and so even genetically aka 'blood' will just admix into the greater Han.
Because this is being done, organized, intentionally made to be this way by the PRC ruling regime, its directed, planned and done FOR the point and purpose of disappearing Muslim Uighur culture inside China - thus the UN describes it as 'cultural genocide'.
You'd also find there WAS very very German enclaves in the early USA. Culturally German, spoke German, were DNA German, German was ALMOST the USAs 2nd language at one point,
and yet,
today, and you would find in regions once very very obviously Germanic, german culture, maybe only a German surname. Even that might have been 'Anglisized' where Mueller is now 'Miller' or the Braun family now the 'Brown' family.
Why isn't this dubbed 'cultural genocide' by the UN's people?
Because there was nobody 'doing it to them'. They simply found it helpful to speak English, soon their children married other ethnicities, then they decided to move across the lands or stay and for that matter some stayed ethnically German in enclaves because they felt like it and nobody can tell them what to do or where to live.
but yes indeed, the African slaves most definitely had their culture 'genocided' and in some horrific cases it was done by other African warlords in Africa before they were culturally genocided by being sold and sent to a far away land.
Like Uighurs are being sent across China to Han populations so they will disperse forever into the mix.

@KenHubbard-jz1vq Nope and here's how we know:
You and readers and the original poster, imagine you found you lost your home citizenship. You are stranded and living inside an international airport.
{no kidding, this has actually happened to people).
But good news! A representative from the UN arrives and says that the 200 nations of earth made an agreement that YOU can accept one passport and citizenship of ANY country besides your own.
There is a 'catch'. Whatever country you choose? You and your family will have to live, work, retire and pass away inside that country. you will be a citizen so all its laws and rights etc apply.
Ok, you are allowed 2 weeks of international travel a year BUT you must stay, live, reside in the country of your choice.
Before you even finished reading this you already know you would choose the USA and the US Passport and Citizenship AND you'd get on a plane to your new country The USA as fast as you could.
mehhhh you might have pondered Canada or France or Australia.. maybe,
but,
nope, you chose the USA.
I know you would. You know you would. I know that YOU know you would.

@dimiberberu some advice: doing the old communist thing of 'Say the OPPOSITE' isn't as pursuasive as you'd think it is.
and,
No, we know this because of what we call 'real life demonstration'.
It's not just that 100% of Chinese who CAN move legally to the USA will do it and are trying to do it today, in 2025.
It's not simply that but more, 60,000 Chinese will actually risk their lives, safety, all their social connection, their own Chinese citizenship and then their health and safety to UNLAWFULLY cheat themselves into the USA through dangerous South American journeys that will leave them in poverty IF they even make it across the US border, get arrested by the US border police and sit in a refugee camp for 6 months.
Indeed, this will be true for 100 other natins who will actually risk their LIVES, often face brutal physical injury, from crime or just the livign conditions to live ILLEGALLY in the USA.
You just did an embarrassing thing.
"I will say THE OPPOSITE!!' hehehee
Don't do tha anymore, ok?

@George-k6o9t You stay in touch with China by following the most virulent anti-American Chinese 'shill' vloggers.
Amazing.
but yes, for over 30 years, before and since China PRC really opened up, there are absolutely a million hours of vlogs, reports, documentaries, articles and even just tourists 'vacation recordings' to the big mainstream media coverage,
and,
of course with the internet, we can see every State Media article, every newspaper, watch 'live webcams' around China, uncountable vlogs filled youtube and everywhere else.
I mean much of this is blocked from Chinese inside China but anyone outside has always been able to do this.
a decade ago you could do extensive 'virtual tours' through Chongqing, as if you were walking the streets yourself in real life.
but yes, you're really enlightened by watching 'Andy Boreham' ffs lol

It seems to me they comb through the bible and highlighted anything that is noted as holy to God, is loved by God, is described as important to God and things God dilikes or hated or condemned. Then, they work on creating the very opposite to every one.
One of the most significant things God does is create man and woman and calls it 'good'. Later Jesus reasserts this, created man and woman and one man was for one woman for life. The wording itself, interesting, really makes clear these distinct. Reaffirms they are distinct, they are different. They see 'for whatever reason, in Christianity, in their bible, this is a 'thing' where men and women are the only two distinct genders SO THEREFORE go hard on this fundamental Christian premise! What's the opposite, they are the same, there is no difference, go on that like its the theory of evolution defeated creationism, go on it!
and so they do.

regarding around 7:00 and Peter Santenello's channel was a little part of me making a channel, sorta. I recognized Peter as being very much like me in some ways and naturally I was subscribed. The thing is, I really did see Peter make 100 long-form videos for 2 years for free and I know they were good because he legit liked this, he's just himself wanting to know, he has to be a wanderer and curious and find out what's really going on. You can't fake that (not often). IF he ever makes money its a 'side-effect' and repays a tremendous grind. I'm still stunned at how many hours I put into my crappy little homemade walkabout phone grab videos! His videos require remarkable organization, concentration and time!
As the hustler points out - nobody tells the 15 year olds this part. Nobody tells them you need to work for free (actually, pay into it) for years of grinding and work and MAYBE you'll get a viral video or monetized channel.
I have 100 teenage girls who are convinced they make a few videos dancing around and youtube and tiktok will be their new lucrative career. They are sure if I have a video with 3000 views (which stuns me quite frankly) but they believe I made $3000 USD from that video for some reason lol.
On the upside, I like and admire the youth for trying to get creative, trying to think of ways to vlog something unique or different or show and explain some corner of their world. It's just that they need to know that cannot replace a job, work, I mean like actual work-work jobs and climbing the ladder and wages and so on.

You're a little behind on the news but:
"Street drug deaths in the U.S. are dropping at the fastest rate ever seen, according to a new report issued on Thursday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Preliminary data shows roughly 97,000 fatal overdoses over a 12-month period. That's down roughly 14.5% from a year earlier. Public health officials say the drop translates into more than 16,000 lives saved and marks the lowest level of drug deaths in nearly four years."
Needless to be said, as we all know: This doesn't mean the whole problem will simply disappear now. This is the current trend for the last few years but a lot of people are also trying to make sure they know WHY and HOW and then try and double-down on those things to ensure this KEEPS DECLINING. Sometimes these trend down...then wooooops... go back up. but for now, at this particular time, Fentanyl and all 'street drug' overdoses are on a steady decline.
and I agree with you, the consequences of drug use and abuse now will definitely have consequences in the future so that has to be dealt with. Personally, I like the Chinese approach where they execute drug smugglers and distributors and they do it quickly, within a year, not some '14 years on death row' where they die of old age or cancer long before being executed. Otherwise brutal penalties for the lower level drug possessors and users and then having persistent junkies gassed and their organs used for science. Especially marijuna.

I take no joy in "I told you So" mentality but I can tell you I worked on a provincial university campus in 2014/15 and that might have been the absolute peak of anybody and everybody was in University. There cannot be places for 7 million landscaping engineers. and 7 other universities in the same city. masses, they would put in students who were mentally slow. I'm not making an 'insult' here, i mean, students who had, sadly, some cognitive impairment.
Adding to that, I have never see so many students who were literally, physically, barely bothered to interrupt their League of Legends gaming to do some mandatory class attendance.
[btw, full disclosure this was me and my buddies in Uni so.. I know what I did lol]
now, 10 years later there is only about 50% of the students on that campus and that is still too many.
Today, those students are 28 and some turning 30 and most are delivering, Didi driving, a few got some office jobs but those are not proper white collar 'career' jobs but 996 grinders in a cubicle for some delivery facility or insurance company, some of the girls are married and a good many of those young LoL players are back in their home villages.
BTW, Canada is confronting this too: We have 7000 new 'Marine Biologists' graduating. There might be 7. SEVEN marine biologist job openings a year. We have 1 million Literature diplomas... and... ? nobody knows what that does.
Canada once broke the record for the percent of population with 'post-secondary' education of whatever degree at 54%
(that's been surpassed) and I recently read we'd have 64% of our population with a diploma.
For what?
Anyway, really China just has to do this. Now, open TRADE SCHOOLS all over, great. plumbers, electricians and they could convert entire academic campuses into Elevator and Escalator Repair schools.
but China simply cannot have 150 million computer engineers, 10 million Music PHDs and it just can't work.

Agreed, EWS is one of the movies that sucked and while I get the idea it's intending to show us a picture of 'New York Elite world', open secrets, surprisingly devoid of personality, superficial, hollow, okay I get all these things BUT,
but there is something missing. He's right, there was meant to be a narrator. Yes I suppose then some things were removed.
What I'd like to see is a simple challenge put out to fans everywhere: write and do a narrative for it.
Don't worry right now about missing scenes although, yes, actually someone could do some clever AI/photoshoppy type of magic but don't worry on that too much:
Fan Editors everywhere, film students, film nerds: Take the challenge, narrate and upload it.

I'm going to put time aside to get through this. This is a heavyweight match so I want to watch closely but I swear it was either Tony Robbins or a referral by him but I recall reading this proper scientific experiment done by a quality pro psychologist in which he took something like 20 clinicall depressed people into proper therapy sessions.
20 others? He got funding to take them to Disneyworld. No joke, this wasn't a 'doge' scam, he openly funded a 2 week (whatever the time) all-inclusive, all-expenses, all-special access etc etc dream-of-a-lifetime vacation to Disney with all the hotel rooms, all the celebrations, etc.
It was all full-on professionally documented, whatever 'double blind' or all the fool proofing and serious Peterson level reviews to find..
the Disney adventure depressives were found to have the same improvements as the long clinical psychological therapy sessions 'laying on the couch'.
I'm getting old and that was maybe 40 years ago I read that so if anyone knows what that was about feel free to drop a link. What is made me think, so there is no 'diminishing' the traditional therapy but it made me think that actually yes, sometimes it could be changing the way, the day, just having a fun adventure might be all that is needed.

thing is, Trump has the right idea about erasing the phony US-Canada border. What you do is look at all the resources, customs, inspectors, the massive amount from both sides on that border, ok?
Now, it would be far FAR better than you take all of that and you now MOVE IT, all those choppers, people, money, time, resources along the North American border. the OUTSIDE perimeter of Canada and the outside perimeter of USA.
Now, Canada does a far far better job stopping 1000s of Sikhs ad Chinese and whoever else before they GET INTO North American landmass.
otherwise, yes it's difficult to stop once they are INSIDE Canada because that border is so long, so vast, so sparsely populated, wilderness forever, forests, it becomes extremely difficult by that time.
Erase the phony border.

@LeftLaneDreams in modern warfare there is no benefit to having massive numbers of people. In this case, there could only be something like 2 million conceivable positions factoring in everything from a commander, the tank driver, the fuel runners, the transport vehicles maximum occupancy, the cooks to fill every kitchen, etc.
one of the hosts is correct that the USA has a far far superior 'tech' advantage meaning, for example, there is a fully functioning refurbed Chinese ex-soviet aircraft carrier but its nearly empty. It has an array of old-tech defensive missiles, a basic radar etc but the US aircraft carrier(s) are utterly crammed with insane high-tech new crazy goodies from the drones to the railguns to the freaky new missiles and stunning ammo capabilities.
Even at lower levels, yes China has many many corvette ships and China will admit they are almost all empty, really unarmed (yet) and almost all of them are currently used for training purposes (so far). In comparison, a US Corvette (or many of theirs) are jam-packed with rather stunning offensive capabilities.
It goes on and on
Mainland China isn't even trying to exaggerate this either and will openly discuss this as their single biggest military issue in that they simply don't have the 'potency' and goodies. Recently they sure did buy a lot of Russian tanks but China actually needed to hire the tank mechanics and engineers (so, a Russian soldier needs to come with each tank) because they just barely trained drivers and do not (not yet) know how to actually do the tank maintenance, replace parts and (so far). This principle carries on with, for example China's fighter jets. Here again, China's normally braggy govt will openly admit they may have many jets but they simply don't have the sweet goodies, the latest refueling planes, the kinds of radar planes etc etc yet. (not yet anyway).
As a general rule, if China's govt itself will actually make public this kind of admission then, in a weird way, its probably the thing they are telling the truth about.

Landed at that airport not long ago. As a survivor, I thought about something I read around Korean disasters and their strict cultural devotion to 'filial piety', the mandatory obedience to the superior authority. In a horrific Korean airplane crash, the pilot had made several errors but the younger jr. co-pilot was fully aware of them and nothing could stop him from correcing the pilot or even taking physical control corrections. yet, even into certain death, the junior pilot never once contradicted or even questioned the senior pilot. In fact, this is determined to be the 'cause' of the accident in that sense. Socially, they cannot even say something like "are you sure, captain?" as this is a kind of unacceptable loss of face and 'shame culture' no-no.
something like this also happened on a sinking boat where dozens of teenagers were left in the bottom of the ship to drown when, at many times, they could have simply gone to the deck, put on life jackets and probably lived. In a chilling cell phone video, the students sit in a room waiting for an adult authority to instruct them to leave. Finally one student asks out loud "shouldn't we get out of here and go up?" but another boy chides him saying "no. if they wanted us to leave here then they would tell us that. they haven't told us yet".
Will we find this happened again? It wasn't the crew panicking either but the senior pilot 'choked' and the crew has absolutely no social right to question anything nor do anything but obey the pilots choices nor do anything unless instructed by the senior pilot.
also, the brick wall at the end of the runway does indeed appear to have saved the lives of the people inside the communications tower. purpose well served!

heya laowai, welcome to the outside world. I have some well-meaning advice for you, friend.
This Party membership you speak of? I'd suggest you make a careful plan on how to make sure you are NOT mistaken for a party member in the event, somewhere in the next 3 or 5 years, that day when a classic Chinese 'peasant uprising' takes place. An obvious first step: make sure you delete every single one of these posts you made, then delete the VPN you used and then hurl the phone or laptop or any device you posts 'Pro-CCP' messages from.
2. Make sure you discard absolutley any documents, cards, ID, anything that they think connects you to the CCP party.
3. Make a 'Go Bag' This is like a bag that is fully of whatever fake ID, cash money, yes even food, medicine, anything that you can take instantly and depart and run with.
4. Think carefully and preplan where you can be safe. Do not make foolish plans thinking something like Vietnam because ohhhh how they may very very happily hand you back over to your peasants. Don't assume Cambodia is going to let you in Or they might and say "well wel... look who's come groveling to us to protect you.. what power do you even have?" and so on. So you think about North Korea or maybe Myanmar?
These are just suggestions because as we know, there is nothing more horrifying than when the Chinese decided to have a peasant rebelion and change things. You know this right? that it starts with horrific humiliation, social humiliation, you made to stand on a rickety old chair for hours with a 'dunce cap' on your head saying 'traitor to China' and aunties slapping your face with their shoes while you stand trial and THEN the really horrible long agonizing end is still far away as you know your family wlll be made low, some cannibalized, your grave will be a pit, our name removed from books so even the memory of you disappears but for a while you will be a 'viral video' being dragged naked through streets and made to bend the knee to being slapped and forced to eat your Air Jordans to cheering pointing crowds, chanting shame on you as they point at you....
....so to avoid that please consider my suggestions, foreign friend. Just to be safe and prepared!

You said you're living in Europe. I'm sure you cannot wait until you can get out of that inferior 'Europe' and back to the more advanced, superior in every way and aspect China, more than the 'Western World', I hope you aren't made to live in Europe much longer,
however, I have a question you may be uniquely experienced to answer:
'Europe' isn't a country I know but of the those countries, especially the 'EU' members, there is a stunning number of Mainland Chinese Immigrants. Legally, either they've immigrated to Citizenship or PR or long-term work visas or student visas etc etc.
When I've asked about this, people tell me 100% of ALL forms of visas are 100% full 100% of the time in ALL EU nation embassies and consulates in Mainland China.
So really, the MAXIMUM legal ways and the MAXIMUM amount of Chinese go to Europe if they can.
next,
Every European country has 1000s of Mainland Chinese who sometimes risk their lives and lose everything in order to get to that European soil and declare 'Asylum'. 'refugee'.
Then they apply for a kind of temporary visa so they cannot be sent back to The PRC.
next,
Every European country has reported an increased number of Mainland Chinese illegals. So these Chinese are preferring to live there illegally, 'underground' type of living without any kinds of rights or documents etc.
What's up with that? Why do you think that keeps happening? Again, I know YOU can't wait to leave that inferior lower civilization to the more superior mainland godnation world,
but,
What explains nearly any and all Mainland Chinese who CAN get themselves into Europe and stay in Europe?

@bobevans9996 Not really but 'yes' in the sense most people on earth have some common ancestor.
Japanese and Koreans would be included in your list.
really you're just describing a mega-haplotype given the name 'Han'.
'Han' is a genetic pool that can be best described as 'Everyone and Nobody'.
there would be so much 'admixture' that 100 other gene pool would Venn Diagram it into a graph of bubble clumps.
Some gene pools like 'Mongolian' (itself a mixed pool) would have saturate in while 100 ethnic peoples from Huang to Miao and many more would have mixed and mulled in.
In some places, European, British genes swirled around, over in Macao a sprawling mix of Portugeuse, Spanish and Singapore, swirls of India and a dozen others.
and a common ancestry?
I dunno?
in theory, somewhere in North Korea is the most 'Pure Han' which is a weird thing to even say since that's not really a meaningful identity. 'the least broadly saturated Han'?
Korea somewhere,
however,
maybe to find a common ancestry we have to find Huang Di?
He might be something like the SE Asian "Noah", a grand Patriarch, one who established the civlizations of what is today the region of China and 'East Asia'?
Maybe, today, everyone in East Asia and that list you made has SOME genetics that are from Huang DI and his royal family?
Even if it was only 2% of their DNA or 20% but probably everyone on that list has SOME genetics that were from Huang Di? That doesn't mean direct ancestors but would have, by now, had some parent's parents with some of Huang Di's DNA,
thus,
in tha sense, yes, Macau, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mainland China, North Korea, Japan, Vietnamese, etc etc, dozens of nations in SE Asia have SOME 'common ancestry'.
Which is...
The most UNremarkable thing in the entire earth. Yes, probably all of Europe from Ireland to Moscow has some "common ancestry".
No matter how mixed and mulled and swirled and added (and subtracted) there is, somewhere way back there, a "Noah' had a 'Japeth' who moved North and so yes, in some massive genetic type, something dubbed 'Caucasian' maybe, in the same ways, everyone from Italians to Swiss to Ukrainians shares ... and it may be just 1% or 10% and not necessarily in direct lineage but somewhere a parents parent, they are all descended from their 'Huang Di' or 'Noah' or 'Japeth' type of thing.
of course,
you realize what this means right?
It means everyone on earth is, ultimately from the same common ancestry right?
We are dubbing that ancestor 'Noah' or 'Huang Di' but a kind of last known 'Patriarch' who almost certainly (almost) lived somewhere in the 'Middle East' somewhere at some time.
and,
actually that, just in itself, isn't really that meaningful to anyone about anything in our modern world (or really any time in history) and doesn't help or hinder or change much of anything or anyone.
It didn't stop Japanese Imperialists from executing 60,000 Chinese on a Nanking beach, it didn't stop the Guangxi Massacre (fair warning, you don't even want to know what that was).
It isn't stopping China's PRC from salivating at the idea of mass-murdering Taiwanese and subjecting them to evil humiliation, its not stopping Hamas from killing Israelis it's not stopping Ukrainians and Russians from 'meat grinding' each other etc.
nor,
it doesn't make the USA carry on as China (the region) as its biggest benefactor or stop Chinese from producing massive amounts of products for Ireland and etc etc.

@WongPeter-tx7qq Saying 'middle class' doesn't mean anything though. China's 'middle class' doesn't have drinkable tap water and drives eBikes in winter.
China's middle class has the average GDP per person as a poor south American nation, somewhere around 100th out of 200 nations.
8x less money than an American middle class and 6X less than a Japanese.
'Middle Class' is relataive to that nation and then there is this:
You are not arguing against the obviously severe economic collapse by saying "look at all these middle class people!'
What does that even mean??
Yes, look at all these middle class (by China's standards) who bought their homes for 1.2 million and now their home is worth 600 thousand.
And its only worth 50% because the government made a law forbdding them from listing it for sale for less than 50% of purchase price.
Yes indeed, look at all the middle class (who'd be categorized as poverty class if transported to most any 1st world democracy) look at how they are racking up their Alipay Credit buying massive amounts of bulk foods.
You know, how people prepare for upcoming economic hard times.. like say... the largest real estate bubble collapse in modern human history.
Which is happening in China.
You can't change our minds but reality can. If I see the real estate collapse bottom out and everyone stops getting poorer, everything older, wages declining, less unemployment, less loss of wealth in China then my mind changes accordingly.
and btw, you are fully aware I am correctly describing the obvious state of China.
Please don't play dumb with me and please don't lie about China anymore, okay?

@havocrein No son, sorry but I do know what I'm talking about and I understand you've been constantly brainwashed to believe the outside world is even worse than China and that China will eventually surpass them.
You need to give that up okay?
It's better you know this, the USA is much much wealthier, stable, growing and is in now serious economic problems at all, neither is most of the world.
This is not a debate.
This is not where you do your communist 1960s 'Thesis vs Antithesis' games.
Don't do the 'Whatever is happening to China SAY THEM' reverse it nonsense.
It's better you realize that right now, China's mainland, as it has for 5 significant years, going into SEVERE game-changing economic collapse.
There is no comparison. There never was anyway, the USA is 10X wealthier with massive economic power and a century of collecting and sitting on wealth. So is Japan far wealthier BEFORE China's economic collapse,
but,
at this time this is China's economic collapse.
Vietnam is rising. Cambodia is rising, China is NOT rising anymore and will only decline for decades to come.
I'm sorry, you have a lot to learn about China and how things work in China .
I know you need to believe 'The West' is actually WORSE so actually China is the best and all that crap to keep you from losing face and all that,
but,
It's better you hear the truth now and work on it from there.

@karenneill9109 Mexico has it's problems but its not that bad. I don't know about overall systems but I can tell you
-I was in a place that banned conversion therapy. It's not unusual for people to be beheaded for converting people. They'd say, sometimes you have to save people from themselves.
-Another country has recently started (restarted) re-education camps. So to be clear this is government and codified laws on what thoughts and what conversions will be allowed/disallowed. After all, its for their own good. A few years ago a Canadian visitor was arrested when their group got off a train and their cell phones were examined. They found conversion therapy videos on one of the group's phones. Some Iman who spoke in Chinese and taught the reasons Uighurs should revert to Islam etc. The Canadian and group were soon released but warned not to bring conversion teachings into Xinjiang again.
They say the conversional propaganda brings disharmony and screws up the locals minds into confusing hatred.
This is happening right now as we write about this.
- We have a small group of Russian expats here and they've explained how 'gay conversion' is illegal in Russia now. (sometimes dubbed 'Russian anti-gay laws') but they explain its not actually against any laws to be gay and unlike Canada, any adult would be totally free to think anything they want in the privacy of their own homes.
What they can't do is put any kind of 'pro-gay' media, words, adverts, posters etc anything that 'advocates for' homosexuality in any public places. Government experts have decided this helps save people from themselves.
- At the moment, I have official Canadian government warnings to stay away from a border of a certain country due to brutal violence and strife, hostage takings and where a government routinely carries out 'school hangings' and took their ban on 'conversion therapy' to the next step where they actively seek out these 'conversion therapists' and persecute, jail or worse them. Their government has decided what people will believe and what they won't and I don't recommend even looking it up online because you won't sleep that night. It's stunning horrors.
- I did have a stopover in a country that is great today but I learned something about their recent history that somewhat aligns with Canada in this sense:
Years ago they also had all parties vote to codify into official law a kind of national 'anti-conversion' law around 'hate speech' and deemed it for the good of the nation. It was a kind of 'anti-racism' law and in this case you could not publish, you could not give speeches or write books etc denouncing certain treaties and international agreements.
the anti-hate law was put in place for their own good and to keep the 'anti-versailles' types from converting the thinking of innocent peace-loving Germans and that kind of thought manipulation.
Now get this.. whats the problem? all political parties signed on and supported it so Germans could be grateful to live there where hate-conversion laws prevented harmful thoughts and feelings etc?
Except... it wasn't long before a certain 'third party" came out of nowhere and consolidated power.
Surprise!
Here's a thing though - you've probably heard stories that they had laws against thinkspeak? they arrested people for things like seditious thoughts and so on. Real nasty fascist 'thought crime' stuff we read about in school,
however,
one of the ways they did that was using already-built already accepted 'thought conversion laws'. After all, everyone in government had agreed before right? Sometimes you gotta save people from their own thoughts and make laws over what they can think about some things right?
It's just that they didn't expect governments can change and maybe 10 years later Tamara Lich is the PM or a new 'Freedom Party' takes over parliament.
So, besides being impossible to monitor thoughts there are all kinds of horrors that can ensue when you have government with power to control what two consenting adults choose to think about.
One of the problems is that Canadians, by and large, (and I was this way) never had to experience real horrors, corruption, Orwellian think-crime society and so they are naive and even think they've 'progressed' if they try little samples of it and say "see.. nothing went wrong!?" whereas in much of the world the horrors of that are far too well known.
Here is a fun thing for you to think about:
As we speak, right now,
In the society I'm standing in, codified into official government-enforceable laws I cannot perform 'conversion therapy' on a citizen who asks me, out of their own free will to change their mind about His Excellency.
So for example, all homosexual pornography is banned by law and from the national internet (so just say that for example) and I told this citizen why, in my opinion, why His Excellency is wrong and made a mistake about that.
Myself and the citizens who challenged me to 'change his mind' could be arrested and physically detained (and worse possibly) for that 'conversion therapy' we both agreed to participate in.
For real.
I suppose you can think that's a good thing but I'm not sure it's such a good thing and it could become a horrifyingly bad thing like in a neighboring country where 'belief converters' get strung up by piano wires and so do their children.
"But its fine now, actually the leaders are all nice people" is a very very short-sighted and potentially deadly way of looking at upcoming hazards.
We've been warned.

@karenneill9109 Hello, 'Conversion Therapy' is not some external person 'attacking' and trying to accost some rightful homosexual though.
It's an adult who decides they would like to change their own thoughts and seeks out someone to help them do what they want to do. They are not forcing someone to listen, they are not using psychological mind games to destroy self-worth etc.
Why do you keep believing there are marauders who find a victim and then 'do conversion on them'??
Here, let's use a real life example so you understand this:
A grown adult woman has decided she wants control over her own body and mind and she knows what's best for her.
following? ok..
This adult woman has experienced some psychological trauma. When she was younger she was molested by a couple of adults who used her for sexual etc.
(this is just a given example)
One thing this adult woman is sure about is that she identifies as a heterosexual.
This is her choice and her decision,
however,
She finds herself having difficult thoughts about lesbian sexual desires.
* at this point, i understand YOU and the man in govt think "GOODDDDdd that is BEAUTIFUL and HOLY and its WHO she realllllly is and its her identity!!!!",
however,
This adult Canadian woman has, until recently the right to decide for herself, her body and her sexuality what she wants and doesn't want.
This woman has decided these intrusive homosexual thoughts and physiological changes are NOT helpful.
She decides they are slowing her progress in life, they are interfering with her family life with her husband and children, career and her self confidence.
Got it?
She decides that about her own thoughts and body. That's her choice.
A conversionist doesn't somehow 'set upon her' like you seem to believe (weirdly) but instead she decides she would also like help and seeks a therapist.
The therapist.. and this is like an old cliche but "how many does it take to change a light bulb? 1 but only if the lightbulb wants to change".
Seriously tho, the therapist cannot 'do' something to the client. There is nothing the client does that the client doesn't choose to do.
The only thing that matters is our adult Canadian woman has decided she wants techniques, coaching, CBT, whatever the techniques because she's decided what thoughts will be in her mind and what her physiology will or will not choose.
Do you get that now?
She wasn't set upon by a 'conversionist' who 'did things to her' and somehow she's unable to fight them off etc.
Now, again, I understand you love that handsome white 'CIS' man in Ottawa has decided that woman should not be allowed to choose to undo those thoughts and lusts,
however,,
until 5 minutes ago Canadians used to hold it in high value that a Canadian woman was solely and sovereignly holding every right to decide what thoughts she can have.
Now that's over and lets go over it again: Be careful what you're grateful for because you just might get told what you won't be allowed to think or not think sooner or later.

While this panel does 'Smirking and Chortling Theater' it remains objectively true, as demonstrated in real life, a highly disproportionate amount of the ingredient for Fentanyl and 'analogs'. have been seized and found coming out of Mainland China.
Don't try and be cute. "technically, that is not processed fentanyl so.. seee.. ". Yes, Trump uses the umbrella term 'Fentanyl' but this does actually refer to the ingredients for fent and fent-like analogs.
Smirk and roll eyes all you want but the reason these three were specifically grouped and related to Fentanyl is because there is, demonstrated, seized, seen, recorded, litigated, confessed over and over:
Ingredients are coming almost exclusively The PRC where they are being mixed or 'cooked' in Mexico and Canada and then distributed from those places too.
Interestingly, much of the actual substance itself is Mexico for sure BUT Canada is a strong hotspot for the administration and money laundering of the Fent world.
Have a panel wave it off laughing at old fool Trump, that fumbling dummy and his ridiculous 'fentanyl excuse' but the hard cold facts on the ground, real objective substances, real bags of product, real postal and airport seizures, the very real arrests of gangs mapping this out, really happen.
I' m not happy for anyone, im sad for China, USA and everyone involved BUT its better not to lie about this with smirking laughs and pretending we all know its a silly excuse. It is based on very real things you can hold in your hand, see, smell and observe.
yes, of course, there are other issues but this is something Trump believes China can better mitigate and so that is something China can do now.

China has around 960 million people. Please stop this bizarre thing of mistaking Indias population as China's mainland population. (its weird, its like how suddenly everyone spelled 'lose' as 'loose' and won't stop doing it).
Anyway,
Yes, if you take 960 million people but there is a little bit of a problem with China's demographic. A massive number of them are turning 60+ years old and far less that "20-50" zone where a 'genius IQ' would be making something out of the IQ power. (almost all geniuses that ever developed something did that from 20-50 years old).
but China does have another mitigating factor: It vaults people into positions of authority, the 'gatekeepers', the money, career etc by 'guan-xi' aka their complex social status relationship systems.
*this is why you'll find so many stupid low IQ people in all their levels of management
HOWEVER,
China, which runs some of the old soviet-era style mass-filtering systems will screen and push through the highest IQs like promising Olympians. A great example is Jack Ma. He was found to be an extraordinarily high-IQ computer wizard so they Party assigned him to make the Chinese versions of US tech.
but then again,
there is the mitigation that far too many Low IQs and Midwits who decide such things do not want to be forced to give things to lower status people, including some villager who's got a freaky high-IQ and they'd rather not give him or her any social status positions.
and then..
....the other mitigating factor, more like the most obvious of them all. A Chinese mainlander who may have a 'super genius' kind of intelligence is very often the one who figures out how to emmigrate to Europe, the USA or even Japan or Taiwan if they can do so. Then they invent some super-code with Elon Musk as American Citizens.
but its also worth mentioning that 'High IQ' does not in itself, by itself, really do that much and can do nothing. Really, it's a curse for some who will degenerate into neurotic weirdos or simply not do much of anything but become 'gamers' and nobody ever really knows (not even them) they have some high IQ anyway.

When I first moved to China to work at a University I was just astonished that this nice young lady confided she could never marry her boyfriend. I'd met him and he was such a nice young man. There were 2 dealbreakers, she explained:
1. She was taller than him. this was esp crazy because she was maybe 5cm taller at best. I said if he wore higher shoes and she wore lower heels its the same. Nope.
2. He went to a lower ranked university. like the height, this is just 1 level really. As if that would matter. but OH YES it did and her parents wouldn't accept he went to the lower university. mindboggling.
She really liked him a lot. He was really good to her. She just shook her head. No. it would not happen. It did not happen. They had already agreed graduation would be the end.
Yes these things are normal in China. A niece had a big problem with stewardess school because of something called 'X' and '0' legs and i forget what terrible 'deformity' she had. X legs. The standard is (weird to foreigners) Chopstick Legs.
One day, i was just sitting there in the office when it dawned on me that of the 30 young people they hired, all of them were either:
Tall
White
So you could be less tall but have pale skin or be tall with darker skin.
If you were tall and light-skinned with perfect bilateral chopstick legs I guess you went directly to assisant CEO of Huawei I don't know?
yes this presents, in effect, the same problems 'DEI' race-based hiring has. You get incompetent people hired because they are a 'black female lesbian' or 'not hired' because they are a white normal male. In China, of that office I mentioned, I swear half the staff were, if tested, legally retarded and/or mentally unstable. I'm not joking when I tell you, if I got to my building management office I go directly to this short chubby darker skinned girl because for her to be working there at the front desk means she must REALLY KNOW what's going on. And she does. and the pretty presentation models (i suspect the stewardesses who just didn't make it) are simply baffled by any request, don't 'get' anything and say 'ting budong' a lot. Chubby girl always knows what to do.

On the ground I have a wacky theory about why the 'western new year' was suppressed and dampened.
Spring Festival is dying. Since they cancelled it during the society-killing 'lockdowns' a whole lot of people realized they didn't miss it, the insane travel times, youth exhausted by yet another CCTV Gala playing all night and there's more. 30 years later, the youth who were sold to city manufacturing plants don't actually have the connection to their hometown villages. Many of those villagers have passed away now. Add that, for a lot of people, they have a 'shame culture' in China where they don't enjoy going back to a hometown when they are broke, under-employed, cannot bring nice gifts.
So.. my theory is that China in its usual 'Suppress something else so the other thing is bigger' mentality went heavy on suppressing Solar New Year's Eve and HOPE... they hope... the money, energy, travel and enthusiasism is saved for a relative short period of time to Spring Festival.
Interestingly, those effing smash-crackers showed up on the evening of January 1st. As if every storeowner was told not to sell them for New Years Eve and now those horrible things are back and kids are smashing them all over the place NOW.

For anyone who actually paid attention to the topic itself: We actually do get a pretty good explanation for his years. "Is this not Joseph the Carpenters son?" (another 'isn't that Jesus the carpenter) so right away we solved his job and further more that he was his father's apprentice and then of course becomes a carpenter too.
As pointed out here, we have some pretty good implications here. Indeed, Joseph seems to be passed away at some point. Ok, yes indeed then Jesus would have become the head Carpenter and traditionally he does not go anywhere. We also find he is well studied, taught as a kid, is called 'Rabbi' and speaks one-on-one with Rabbis as equals.
You've just accounted for 12 to 30 and here again, those surprised by his prophetic ministry don't say:
"Is this not Jesus who went missing" or "Is this not Jesus a great Magi who's traveled to the East?" nor do they say "huh is this not Jesus the Prophet and miracle worker?"
no,
They speak in disbelief or amazement that they had known Jesus the regular guy carpenter as being a regular guy from town.
There is no 'Missing Jesus'. There is no 'mysterious years' and its not in an explicit timeline but implies or strongly solves itself that Jesus was indeed just being a regular human being in a regular family doing a job and yes he seems to know the local fisherman who probably knew him, at the very least in some local small town way.
notice: The fisherman don't say "Who are you?" and "Stranger, why did you know who we were" but instead 'seems' as far as the text reveals, seems to be they know who each other is already.

@catsNcode that's a difficult thing to quanity because then those people would be Americans, not Chinese people.
Also, I'm not sure why you'd bother telling me that? that doesn't 'erase' the hundreds of thousands of Chinese, and I mean Mainland PRC Chinese who were born and raised in China and are recent immigrants (or other visas, work, students etc) and then visitor visas.
Depending on how you will count it, you have, at least 2 million PRC Citizens or BORN and raised in the USA.
Millions.
(this doesn't count the 200 thousand illegals from Mainland China).
so,
If you are sure there are 3X as many 'Chinese-Americans' from several generations back that doesn't 'erase' the Chinese.
It may vary from city to town but its VERY VERY COMMON most Americans routinely see, interact, work with, study with PRC born Chinese.
Everywhere, at the gym, working at the store, in their workplace, all over the college campus, next door neighbors, their son is dating a lady from China, there are Chinatowns.
It's NORMAL and 'Daily life' any given American meets and asks a PRC Chinese from China questions about their home country. What's it like in China? Is this expensive in China? What kind of cars... etc etc etc.
Normal. Daily.
I would actually be surprised to meet an American who has NEVER talked to a Chinese. Seriously, I'd say that would be the strangest thing.
I can go to ANY given tourist site in America and there isn't just one busload of Mainland Chinese visitors but sometimes they are the vast majoriy with Americans being the smallest group.
This ridiculous belief that Americans have found a 'VPN' named Red Book that has finally allowed them outside of their State-Controlled internet firewall to FINALLY be able to see 'Real Chinese people' is absolutely ridiculous, silly, so laughably untrue.

this fake news program is great fun and all that but I'd still like to know how this will affect The Peoples Republic of China and the wealth, savings, food, medicine, the poverty levels, the lower standards of living over the next decade? What to do about the increased number of unemployed Chinese (so that's less money, less food, less clothing for them),
and,
How far does it go before it can be leveled out? Back to the 1960s era of brutal 3rd world backwards starvation and stunning poverty OR is China's mainland going to level back down to a kind of 1980s where fewer people die of malnutrition but its still a kind of poverty-hole barely hanging on in a poor developing world kind of state?
I realize all of Chinese state-controlled media is ONLY discussing the incredible end of the USA and what a big mistake and the impending poverty and hurt of the USA that jsut got all this bad news etc etc,
however,
Maybe someone can be asked where China goes? Does it start selling off its goods ASAP? Print money? Desperately try and get deals to sell things for half price?
Should we worry about national security as China becomes poorer and poorer while the Japans, the Vietnams become wealthier?

I have no idea what weird 'park battle debate' was going on and between who or you or the Serpentza guy but I have criss-crossed around 30 or 40 parks in the USA and maybe the same in China? I don't have some official count. Maybe 40 in either country.
- The USA would be the winner if we took the 'Top 5' of either (that ive been to) with really the most beautiful parks. I don't know though, I might have 1 China park in there.
- HOWEVER, China might win out in the category of 6th to 20th place with more higher quality newer parks with more bells and whistles though more fake grass and green spray paint (which i happen to love).
- Then China would 'win' the worst tier. the 'bottom 10', the 'least attractive parks'. So far, I have never really found a dirty dismal park in the USA. (hang on... no, i can think of one in the outskirts of LA) but China has some ...oooof... like the park itself is more pollution than park. more dangerous than the street, more depressing than the dump.
Overall, and I can only go by the ones I've walked through, about 40 in either country, I'd say the USA wins for the most high quality parks and least low quality.
*I'd put the UK way up there and holy hell when you find a good UK park its a damn masterpiece of green beauty, its a work of art really. Canada is up there but the only quibble is they are really intense on keeping them as 100% natural so you aren't getting manicuring, gardening as much as 'untouched natural beauty' but with some woodsy trails etc.. (so it depends what you like).
but one thing i really like about China is they use flourescent green dye and they are also good at hiding things like a toilet or maintenance sheds etc.
anyway, carry on with your weird debate. oh, the 'gofundmes' in the USA are not because the hospital will not do the surgery on a child (or anyone) until they get paid for it. They are, instead, asking people for help with all the other peripheral expenses, the living expenses, for optional care, extra and special needs that may not be covered (or in full) by insurance.
This is NOT the same as Mainland China which will request the money upfront and that is strictly for the basic cancer surgery and tumor removal and etc.

@thechloromancer3310 China's life expectancy , IQ levels, covid deaths and 'number of millionaires' will always be at least 1% 'surpassed' any and all countries on earth and at least the USA.
What I just wrote there should tell you that I know far far more about China and how things work in China. It tells you that at this point you should stop trying to lie to me and start getting very honest.
and yes, since China's mainland had, and this is well into the 1980s some of the most horrific, deadly lowest standards of living on planet earth, malnutrition and starvation levels, such low levels of living that by the 1970s concerned Asian nations, the USA and UN became concerned the world could not progress with a massive Chinese mainlnd living in brutal poverty and death and 500 years behind.
So by the 1980s and we can say 1990, the USA and world stopped merely sending massive amounts of chicken feet and dollars to help Chinese stay alive, to stay at 'zero' standard of living
Because the world was allowed to buy massive Chinese labor we saw China, which is from ZERO.
Actually 'minue' standard of living improve consistently until some 7 or 8 years ago which was the end of that.
For the last 3 or 4 years consistent declines in the standard of living.
You have a lot to learn about lying about China to people who know better.

@araara4746 No, that is incorrect. I'm sorry to say this but you need to stop listening to The Eastern Media lies and visit China for yourself.
Realistically, China peaked in 2015 for prosperity but I like using 2018 as the peak of the peak, massive money printing and debt, larger Alipay credits.
by 2019 it was obvious that more stores were closing, more schools, more training centers shut down, that this was the end of the good times.
2020 saw the worlds dumbest response to a flu: "Zero Covid" with the absolute destruction of the economy and for far far too long, too strict, to relentless.
It never recovered.
Oh yes, we can even deduct for the utterly insane covid closures yes?
'Does not count' because of course everything was purposely shut down,
however,
That wasn't really the issue.
Covid or not, lockdowns or not, the economy was pure 'Balloon' by 2018, pure money-printing,
GDP Bloating, nonsense speculation bubbles.
So, forget the dumbest economic mistake in human history, the idiotic 'zero covid' and relentless ending of businesses etc,
2023 was STILL going to see the inevitable collapse of Evergrande, Vanke.. well basically all the massive real-estate speculation bubbles.
and this is (was) pretty much THE Chinese economy itself.
This is why everyone in China is poorer today than they were in 2018.
This is why, in 2018 they were almost starting to remove food carts and eBikes and now they're all back again.
This is why, if you time traveled back 7 years everything looks the same but newer and then today looks the same but 7 years older, more worn out and dirtier.
This is why our apartment could have sold at 1.2 million in 2018 and is now valued at 600,000.
Actually nobody would buy it for that 600k but the government has made 50% the mandatory minimum to try and keep utter fast collapse.
(i think it would sell for 80,000 IF that was allowed by law).
There is no 'progress' at all. The ONLY thing you see, which was actually true in 2018 already, you can see projects that were started in 2015 (maybe if lucky) get completed.
Some of these are actually 'bad signs' because they are bridges and final high-speed rails lines that will cost the people a LOT of money just to keep them maintained and provide next to nothing in any returns.
So if you want to talk about the American Dollar Miracle Rise of China you can talk all you want about 1989 to 2018.
Sure, go ahead.
but you really don't want to mention the last 5 or 6 years of China's brutal economic decline and current collapse.
Why?
Partly because it's cruel and unnecessary for you to taunt and antagonize Chinese people who are watching their entire life's saving and their future crumble.
They are living off wumao dog meat skewers and sticky rice and they are unemployed and their homes are worth nothing (less than nothing, they're in debt more than the home could ever sell for) and they're alipay credit has been cut off, real life, real struggles, real poverty, real hopelessness.
So they do not need YOU showing up to mock them announcing 'haha.. no they are fine.. see how lucky they are to be so wealthy!!".
You don't need to mock people like that, not Chinese or anyone.

I have no doubt that somewhere some evil Jews swindled some Natives out of money. Somewhere an evil white Priest hurt a Native kid. Somewhere at some time, some cigar smoking 'Boss Hogg' had his men murder an uppity Native. Somewhere at sometimes, any given thing happens.
that said,
Though it sounds exciting to find this book and present the Guardian ledger and then 'death, death, death' but doesn't tell you if the guardian also died because this was written years after their lifespans..
...it also doesn't help to read out the handful of 'death, death death' but don't mention 80% obviously lived long natural lives and/or obvious natural deaths.
but still, he does tell us there is a disproportionate number of early deaths (or were there if the ledger was old, did it say at what ages?)
Lifespans in 1920s Oklahoma.
Childbirth death rates too.
The ledger probably included babies, teens yes? You'd suppose that is why some Guardians have 5, some had 12, I suppose that includes 80 year old grandma and grandpa too yes?
So now that ledger isn't especially amazing but will get FAR LESS suspicious when someone compares these to the sometimes horrific early death rates on Native Rez's all over North America.
He supposes "But they had money.. they could buy medicine". Wowwwww, nope, there are reservations here in 2025 in Canada where massive money, clinics, social workers, you name it they got it, you name the social service they get it free, they have lots of money and...
..the more money the more die young.
The more riches is the more alcohol deaths at faster rates.
As many or more suicides and murders when windfall money shows up.
Not ever Rez is the same but I'd easily believe if I saw the stats for comparable reservations in the region that disporportionate early deaths becomes FAR FAR LESS REMARKABLE in terms of any kind of special suspicions.
Oh and what of murders? I don't know how to tell people this but Native Reservations, then and now have some of THE HIGHEST murder rates - and I mean Native rivals offing other native rivals.
and yep, add money and you'll only see those rates go up and up.
To this very day, EMS, cops and others who'd live in that world can actually prepare themselves, extra staff etc based on IF a lot of money is about to be transfered to Natives AND you'll find this is why some governments have ways of paying out over different amounts over different steps so that they do NOT have all 200 or 2000 Natives get a big paycheck at the same time.
This is absolutely why they were given money through these various schemes, why they had to put in requests for specific payouts along the way, why stores were asked to participate etc. Its so innocent Natives wouldn't get killed 10 minutes later.

This tracks to this very day in Liverpool, England. Ostentatious, gawdy, a kind of compensation for some insecurity through boasting and noisy behavior. Sowell is right this 'bling culture' sort of thing was very much part of the lower working class subcultures of Britain. He is also correct that much of that has dispersed in the modern days but you can still see this stuck in.
When I grew up, if a satirical TV show wanted to show you a stereotype of a Liverpudlian?
They travel about in 2 or 3 or more, they have perms or 'fro' like hairstyles, they wear cheap sunglasses, track suits and loud gold chains with medallions on them. they are boisterous, chatter and shout, they don't seem to have anything to do but loiter around looking for stuff to do AND they will fight you for daring to insult them. For 'lookin at em funny ya?!' or some perceived slight of disrespect means its fist-fighting time! They are notorious for pulling insurance scams, notoriously cheap but if they did win the lotto they'd get their trailer gold-plated and and wear 3 large gold chains and gold plated sunglasses.
This is STILL a stereotype of a kind of Liverpudlian working poor class type.
oh and stereotypes exist for a reason. it really is kind of like that lol.
Mind you, even that has been fading away over the last 30 years. Still, you can find enclaves of the big-poofy haired, gold track suit oboxious noisy types to this very day.

I think I can help:
Over the last 30 years since the USA arrived to transform China from a 3rd world malnutrition world into a US style market world there has been ONE major thing almost anyone ever says about doing business in China PRC:
- Chinese do not work from a 'rules based order' nor do they themselves like 'contracts' in the sense the 1st world businessmen think of them.
Chinese may or may not change things as they go along.
Chinese do things like play a kind of scheduling game to get social power and hand, deliberatley saying one time, then arriving early, they asking why you are late, then being late but acting as if you being late has spat on their mother its so offensive,
but then pretend they forgot about the last negotiated price and talk about their original price, then act confused, then pretend there is a lot of confusion and a new deal needs to be made,
then, Chinese will negotiate by literally ignoring something for long long periods of time,
delay tactics but then urgent emergency level asks that need an answer immediately,
Chinese will stall and stall, then demand then stall, then fall over and lay on the ground crying about being hurt. Then get up and ask for compensation then sidestep, then hurry then delay.
Chinese mastered these games when nobody had any power or advantage of any material things so these are how they get 'hand' over another, can take power and control over others. The simple (to Chinese) act of showing up too early can give one tremendous power over the other.
You see all those things? Someone even wrote a book on how Chinese mastered this kind of social negotiation from the long stretch of having no money and no social class system. It's actually kind of fascinating even thought it has driven Western business people insane with frustration for 30 years including Trump's business people who've been doing business for Trump Corporations for decades.
You don't need to theorize, speculate or wonder about this. There are 100s of hours of Trump as far back as 2015 in large events speaking to press and the MAGA crowds, loudly and clearly:
Trump says if elected, he will deal with China the way they deal with us. He knows how Chinese negotiate and he will match them.
He can speak to Chinese in "their language" meaning ways they understand.
There is no mystery here. No need for a panel of experts to try and explain it. Trump has openly said he's going to negotiate and deal with China the way Chinese have with him. He's going to play China's games with them.
How do you like it?
How does it feel negotiating with China Trump who does China games and tactics? Enjoying it?
What's wrong? Trump is simply doing what Chinese do. Shouldn't you like it?
Trump didn't do any of these things, making 'vague' demands then specific ones, deliberately leaving out one thing while over-specficying another then acting surprised, then delaying and then asking for more with Great Britain.
It was very clean, clear, concise, all of them stepped through the contract, agreed and all know what happens when.
Trump does this with China for 30 years of China doing this to the US businesses. He does this to China PRC because its the language they understand and indeed its working.
Get used to it.
Next month he may or may not hold up one detail of a contract.
Next month he might propose a 'Shelf Tax' on Chinese products. hehe.. see, its not a 'tariff' but a shelf tax on retailers. USA so clever!
then he will act like China failed to do something.
Then he will say its too late.
Then he will demand China conceded something else or not, maybe. we'll see.
Then Trump will delay.
How does China like it?
Fun yet?
What, this doesn't taste good?
Oh, i thought that you loved the taste of this since China always orders this flavor?
There is no more need to wonder about it. Trump has been saying this as openly as possible for a decade, that he wil deal with China PRC exactly this way, the way they deal with the USA and just watch him do it.
He is doing exactly what he promised and what Americans voted for.

For me, at my age and life experience, I legit feel much more sorry for these women. I don't walk around blaming them but instead i blame lies. Far too many people lied to them as they grew up and misunderstood the world of men and dating and marriage. They believed these lies. The entire time, their old grandmothers at the village were correct when they compelled them to be married by 23, maybe 26 at the latest, at least one child by 28 or else you're lost and they will lose their lineage too.
Here's what men find attractive, even though, full of misbeliefs themselves, this is always the premiere, this is THE factor:
- The woman could best take care of his children. His future children.
That's it. That is EVERYTHING.
If I unleashed 1000 women to an audience of men to keep rating the most sexually attractive women who make them get some feelz in their heart and crotch area this is what would happen EVERY TIME around the planet earth in any time in our history:
- Instantly the 'I want that!' goes to the most physically fertile women who it will happen, if you looked at ID would be ages 18-32ish yet no man in the crowd knew their ages.
- During a series of interviews it would filter to the ones with the hips, babyfat, lush hair (fertile) to which ones seemed the most emotionally stable and least likely to thrown their own baby off a cliff until it was the ones who showed a 'nursing' type personality, attending to their niece, motherly, adoring puppies and feeding baby goats AND loving it.
- Then this group would filter to SOME degree of intelligence where the hourglass shaped 21 year old who dutifully helps her elderly grandmother but is around a 83 IQ will fall behind the same woman but who is around a 103 IQ.
That's that.
This is THE absolutely 99% attractiveness formula for women around the planet. The end. Does not matter what some guy wants to now reply as contradicting it. I've told you THE massive central formula.
Someone lied to women and told them that actually men will be a higher standard of potential mates when they see a woman with a diploma, a successful career, how she has attained a nice material lifestyle. NOPE. No maam.
This reminds me of a standup comedian bit about relationships and this was way back in the 1980s so he can say "I Tried To WARN You!!" if he's an old man today. basically the observational bit was:
Men and women are different, amirite?
A woman goes to a party and men become more or less attractive by our jobs. She meets a man, he seems really nice, looks good. He's a supervisor at a fast food place and suddenly he just became ugly to her eyes. the next one reveals he's a CEO of a fortune 500 company and he becomes a damn good looking man.
vs
This is a man, he meets this smoking hottie and wow she's got a nice figure, sexy eyes.. woot.. she starts telling him she's the CEO of a fortune 500 company and he feigns interest "oh ya.. well that must be interesting work?" while he can only look at those sweet jugs. If she said "so, I work in a mortuary, y'know, I'm clean up dead bodies for minimum wage..." the man, still infatuated with her sweet jugs and gorgeous eyes "Oh ya... well that must be interesting work?:.
What most didn't realize is that the joke wasn't actually a 'zinger on men!' as were most 80s jokes. "men are pigs, amirite ladies!". no, nope. Actually his comedy bit was an absolute message for WOMEN and if only more women didn't see that.
men do not care about your diploma, your 'accomplishments' your job titles. They are looking at your sweet jugs and fertility and how hot you might look naked.
So many of these women didn't realize this and mistakenly believed that what they would do is become the man they wanted to marry and wait for the consequent matching man. Nope.

@unturned6066 Yes, by now we know better and seriously not joking, IF you're plan was to wreck a people, to make their world awful, brutal, socially messed up then there is no more effective thing than to create for them a kind charity and aid culture, a benevolent 'parent' who subsidizes them and have them dependent on this.
Everywhere its been done for a generation or two has resulted in hapless people, strife, hopelessness and a next generation who cannot grasp the conecpt of anything else but waiting for some 'UN/WEF' or whoever it is dispense money and stuff on them.
I'm convinecd if they were left alone they'd find their way.
Maybe its not large commercial farms either, maybe they want to be a culture of a million small family farms. A million goldrush types where every man seeks his own minerals or mine or river gold.
So what, I say , good for them. Maybe they never rise higher than a kind of rural tribal economy OR maybe they do become experts in negotiating mining rights but whatever they do - let them do it.
Let them live how they want.
people think Im being derogatory when I say maybe in a few decades they revert to a kind of ancient world culture where a big king has a throne of his enemies skulls and a literaly pile of gold and gems while millions of loinclothed Zimbabweans have a dance and praise and welcome foreigners with great drumming shows etc.
No, I am not being sarcastic at all, I mean, really, that's awesome IF that is what they are actually and naturally wanting to do.
Good!
and I'd be honored to visit their kingdom and King AND I think it would be awesome for Trump to invite the King to his White House and so what? Good.
God bless them.
but this relentless need to somehow force them to become 'Toronto Canada' because some UN people obviously assume that is the highest thing everyone must want? No, this is ruining their lives.

@gorillionaire-c2e btw the screenname makes me happy but to this thing about genetics.
Even if. Even if there are natural inherent genetic propensities, and even if there are not and then to whatever degrees geography played in developing all kinds of socially adapted propesity, and then religioun shaped those into habits and preferences.
Maybe this gene pool really does have a natural tendency to impatience and short-term planning but also a strong ability to run in short but very fast bursts.
and then that might even get strained by weather, geography, the predatorial animals.
So, yes, maybe, by the time we get to this century all I need to know is these people are that way.
This is what they are best at, they lean into, this is where they are the most comfortable and the old common sense wisdom:
What works for them works for them.
but I say good for them! let them lean into it and do what works for them, God bless them for it.
I'm now convinced the worst thing is for me or the UN people to show up and announce that from now on they need to get used to competing with a Germanic propensity to organize and engineer over long-term planning.
I don't need to drop in and explain they have to learn to defy their natural tendencies by following short, tight, and relentless rules, gates, social stops and procedures called 'university' and so on.
btw, I was reading some journal accounts of early European arrival in what is now Zimbabwe, the Congo and they do indeed encounter massive tribes and a super king and have drums and chants as they welcome them.
how cool is that!
The Europeans describe these as amazing, with admiration. being fascinated by these great African warlord kings and the way they rule and how they are painted or adorned, how they live off the land.
I say COOL and I wish!
Why did anyone decide we need to damn well end that so they are just another generic global society in adidas and ministers of parliament.

@InDadequate Some will say "Oh.. and then in a few years they're gone backwards 300 years'.
But then I think 'what was wrong with the way they lived 1725?'.
from any early descriptions i can read, they lived just fine. They had tribes and close family, they foraged food just fine, they had all kinds of their own unique cultures, dress, I suppose songs and rituals, they had zero pollution, nobody was 'unemployed', every man had his own hut on a piece of land that was his 'castle', the men hunted or trained during the day, the women had their things.
"ya but its primitive!" some balk.
So what about it, i say?
So good for them. actually i kind of admire it, in a wish i lived like that too sometimes.

Right, I have been using some of my own daily life measures. For about 8 years we already knew that there are less and less new kindergarteners showing up at our schools. 2022-23 school year was when we hit zero new '5 year olds'. We know 2 or the 3 buildings of a newly built school haven't opened.
I now measure Dancing Aunties.
This is now become very obvious. For those who don't know, China has a huge population of very public and often aggressive grandmothers known as 'Da-Ma' (big moms) who are actually the most dominant and fearful demographic. The old uncles are like their mules and they love square dancing at nights.
They also love annexing construction sites for their vegetable growing day jobs.
Just 5 years ago there was a peak of 20 Dama and a corresponding uncle defying police and volume controls in our neighborhoods and my usual routes.
2022 saw a return but not as many as before. 2023 I noticed a significant drop. Whereever there was 50 dancing aunties was 35 and that's been dropping like mad now, there seems to be a serious lack of uncles delivery their water or carting off the recycling they collected.
The police have finally claimed conclusive victory over their construction site vegetable farms and that is just down to numbers, only 12 or 15 were left.
A local shop was giving away little samples and just 10 years ago they'd have been absolutely savaged by grab aunties in gangs of 50 strong. Now, only a handful bullied through to grab a few free samples.
This reminds me, sorry but there is no way in Chinese hell that the amazing life expectancy rates were EVER what the CCP official numbers claimed, which I assume they picked 1 year longer than whatever was the longest average life expectancy of all countries on a list.
No way. its not real. Most of these Dama generation (think of them as China's 'baby boomers') are today in that 62-72 age group and I we know they are passing away, I mean, personally we know the Old Uncles who famous smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a morning and homemade rice wine for lunch are not making it out of their 60s. Actually 60 is a good old age for them.
The Dama are simply not living to '88' and those hard lives, their relentless eating of gutter oil and construction site vegetables is not letting them out of their 70s.
I would easily go with the many many extrernal and 3rd party monitors who estimate 970 million and that is dropping faster than any official numbers admit.

A kind of new belief, a kind of anti-Christian believe fell into popularity in the early 20th century but it really became the established worldview in the 1980s and maybe peaked by now:
one of the fundamental worldviews of our 'Christendom', our biblical worldview is that of 'inherent sin' and the 'sin nature of man'. Biblically, its as you described, there are those who chose to become evil because they liked it.
They profit from it, they get a glee in it, they want to be evil for evil's sake and their own earthly passions.
but that faded to something we dubbed 'The Left' this kind of 'opposite idea' that humans are born good and it's social engineering that matters. In fact, if we only socially engineer the people, all would be good.
and conversely, to have an evil character it can only be explained by some kind of malpractice of social engineering, some oppessor or oppression engineered them that way.
Thus, once we get to our 1980s, 2000s this view, held by a vast majority of this entertainment world's writers, directors and most others, it has to be that way.
I also miss the days when evil characters were seen from a Christian worldview but mainly because it's obvious to me that is the most realistic.
Indeed, most everyone who is evil chooses evil, they sear their conscience, they justify evil choices, then eventually they are not troubled by it. They are not in some anxiety and psychological twisted state because of some wrongdoing done to them and 'if only they could work it out they wouldn't be evil!'. No, they would and are and they sleep like a baby at nights and further more, they are proud of the evil they did and even further more take some delight in convincing othes to agree and go along with it.
and then they sleep like a baby at nights, as pleased with themselves as they can be.
This is what I'd suggest is realistic, what we do see, what we know to be true and therefore we are more, legitimately, more frightened at the fantasy version.

@lollymanna You've told me about villages being removed. I don't think that is what you really want to 'No' refute me with but yes many villages are dying out or being removed. Not 'rapidly'.
Interestingly you admitted "..you can still see a lot of construction going on..."
As if that's a thing that has slowed down, that doesn't happen as much anymore. You're correct.
You wrote: "China still remains a massive construction site"
Yes, that is the claim I've made to you, it has stopped and almost everything remains exactly that: a construction site.
The Evergrandes and Vankes have all collapsed and China is resemebling a massive unfinished construction site.
You're drving past construction sites that are frozen in time, abandoned and many have been there for over 5 years.
And yet, despite this you CONTINUE just asserting 'China is changing so rapidly".
See, that village has been demolished and see, so many bankrupted construction sites are still standing around, look at all the concrete skeletons and cranes they can't afford to dismantle!
The guy in this video is right?
Wrong and he can prove it.
He left his city in China around what.. 5 years ago. He has, undoubtedly, hundreds of hours of video or photos from that city and around China yes?
Have him dig up whatever he can from lets say 2018 onward.
Now in 2025 have him walkabout, bike about and challenge him to tell us what is different 8 years later?
I believe he may well find a village that is now rubble and being mowed over for an industrial farm.
I believe he will find a dozen construction projects that were started 8 years ago and then you can say 'See.. this subway line didn't even exist 5 years ago!!".
He most definitley will find a 'rapid change' in that 40% of all the shops seen open in his 2018 videos are now empty and bicycle locked?
Almost EVERYTHING he reviews from his 2018 photos and videos will look identcal except 8 years OLDER and more worn out.
Ebikes are the same but most are 8 years old now.
I dare him to do exactly this and try and say 'China is rapidly changing all the time!'.
No, it's stalled and has been for nearing a decade soon.
You try it yourself?
Do you know why I know this? This Sanyuesan I chilled at home and decided to really organize the hundreds of hours of video and photos I have from all around China:
- I can no longer tell what is from 7 years ago and what was recorded just recently.
that's how I know.
besides actually living in this and I didn't flee China like the guy in this video to the USA but live in this every day.
Do you know how I can glance at photos and video and maybe tell which is which?
The buildings, clothes, eBikes, cars, buses etc etc from the 2018ish videos look shiny and new.
At a glance, an almost identical video clip I took last year could be picked out by my eyes in that all those things look a little older, dirtier, worn out, the building in the background is now dusty, the windows grubby, the 2017 ebike in the photo is trashed and junky etc.
Decide if you really want to keep trying to hit back with this "China is rapidly changing!' rightful stick you believe you get to use and own forever?
Are you sure you want to keep this line of debate going?

@CocoLovelock-cf8yo Hello Laowai, your foreign language is quite interesting, it reminds me of 'chicken scratches' and is fascinating.
You wondered where I got 2992 years and why for a very long time you and all Chinese always said '3000 years of Chinese history'.
[up until last year when it was exaggerated to 5000 and as a Nationalist Pride narrative you must defend]
This is because the world has some historical record of the Qin Kingdom.
There were many non-Chinese kingdoms but one Qin kingdom.
In fact, we believe it's where we get the word 'Chin-a' from. From the 'Chin' kingdom.
There is some confusion for you because some Western scholars broadly refer to the massive mainland land mass as 'China the region' but you are asking about China, the culture and the state.
The best known records in China by Chinese historians is that the Qin didn't exist as any distinct nation until 897 BC but you can just say 2992 years ago.
We can round the number to 3000 years ago.
You bring up the mostly legendary 'Xia' and you are correct this is, as best anyone can tell, the pre Qin roots.
The Qin Nation would be formed from some of the big players children and great grandchildren in what gets called the 'Xia' era (not the Qin era since Qin didn't exist yet).
For some 700 years, the Qin, which only existed as a people, a nation, an identifiable country and kingdom until 700 years earlier,
They started a massive imperialist expansion eastward, conquered (and genociding and culturally genociding etc etc) eastern nations.
Which were not 'Qin' but other nations.
Soon they mandated Qin language, Qin measurements, Qin governmental systems, Qin citizenship (or .. slave status for the unlucky) and announced a much broader area as Qin or 'Chin'.
Happy to help explain why everyone in China, Chinese scholars, everyone in the world always said 'China has 3000 years of history!'
Until 5 minutes ago when you started misbelieved its a 'higher gaokao score' to make the high score '5000' then defend it as if you're helping 'defend China' lol silly.

@AngkarYearZero It's a strange infatuation that seems to come out of the Christendom world (formerly) but where a repentant sinner is given some sort of 'holiness' not granted to the ones who never sinned.
I worked for a company in Canada where the boss himself was a recovering alcoholic. He introduced, as if a kind of righteous religious mission, a program where he would hire recovering drug and alcohol recovering addicts.
This just enrages me to this day thinking about the injustice of that when a dozen men applied who DID NOT turn to drinking and drugs to waste half their life,
yet,
He'd hire them and let me tell you: They were in a special priveleged ittle level none of the other employees were.
If the former drunk didn't show up for work a kind of 'rescue mission' was launched to make sure he was okay. a kind of 'holy prayer circle' was formed around him the next day. He was given support and the rest of us should go mind our business because the Important One got too drunk (oh, 'relapsed') and didn't come to work,
meanwhile,
the ones who did NOT drink themselves stupid show up 10 minutes late and get a real talking to about how they need to smarten up or else - there's the door.
Another got warned severely for taking an extra 5 minute smoke break out back but one of the ex-druggies disappeared for a full afternoon to go get self-pleasured on meth or whatever his buddy had a bag of.
Oh boy, that 'Holy One' was given all kinds of love and hugs and lots of 'understanding' because after all, he'd only been out of prison for committing crimes against people and society for only a 3 months and was on probation.
The boss agreed they needed to 'help each other' get through it.
Enraging. and just look at how many are here posting their brags, their boasting, coming to cash in on the special praises and huge respect they earned by stating the years they are sober.
Oh, brother, I am with you on this, 100% and we need more of us to start turning this around.
Someone post: "Im turning 35 years old and marking my 35th year of not abusing drugs or alcohol" and that's who I respect the most.

@jienz1990 Hello, I'm referring to the massive economic collapse in China and how bad it's been so far.
This is using the term 'collapse' in the sense economists use it.
In China's case, a great deal of it's economy was based on highly inflated real estate bubbles.
In just the last 2 years, this massive prop of the economy has 'collapsed'. Which is to say yes 'bankrupt' (for those companies like Evergrane and yesterday Vanke). Out of business.
Yesterday, police actually took the Vanke CEO out of the building and locked the doors.
This doesn't just mean millions of Chinese constuction workers, millions of real-estate people are unemployed.
Because this was all a massive bubble for financing (well really a massive amount of things in Chinas economy, long list) it means those are now going to fail.
and of course they are and it's why China's streets are now row upon row of closed retaurants, cafes, clothing shots etc. Those were being 'bankrolled' by real estate money (well, money that didnt' really exist so to speak).
So this then see's massive numbers of those owners and workerss without jobs and income.
Next up, because massive numbers of Electric Vehicle companies were also bloated, bubbles of speculation and also funded by 'Evergrande' etc they are also going to go bankrupt.
Thus 3000 more EVs will be ordered removed from the sales lot and show up in the field behind my apartment.
I guess it's fine since there are nothing but unfinished high-rises and weeds back there. The workers will be outside being poor and unemployed so there will be more riot police doing walks around my apartment so keep them in order.
What you can do is stop believing that 'The West' must live inside their version of a Chinese media Firewall and this thing where you're pretending 'What... I don't know what you're talking about??" thking (hhehe.. the readers won't be able to know who's telling the truth since they can't see inside China).
Knock it off. Its stoopid and ghey.
Meanwhile, this is a real problem for a lot of Chinese people. Not just because they are unemployed and thus poorer than ever but because they also thought their real estate investment would be a kind of security for them and instead their home is worth 50% of what it was a few years ago. by law. It would be worth less but to prevent the economic collapse from getting worse the govt makes it against the law to sell for less than 50% of the purchase price.
Any other fake questions? If you really wanted to know and readers wanted to know they can type in 'Economic Collapse of China' in this Youtube Search bar and choose the 100 best and newest updates. The economic collapse of Mainland China is literally one of THE biggest news stories in the world.

IMO, the Chinese are correct to believe Trump isn't really interested in some champagne uncorking 'We did it!' negotiation where everyone lays the new numbers.
It won't stop from Trump. If tomorrow they announce some new deal '0 for 0' and China agrees to remove x-taxes and barriers AND the USA agrees to buy XYZ.
Hurrah, everyone toasts and goes back to work, Trump reminds everyone how he got a great deal from China and..
No. Trump will then start turning screws on others to isolate China, he wil start carrying out Chinese container ship levys, then wreck their stock exchange benefits, lobby to remove them from the WTO.
EVEN if Beijing finally makes grand agreement, ok ... everyone, Trump and Xi did it again!
'Yes, but..'
Trump then finds a way to start replacing anything from China from soybean sales or bringing in tshirt and shoes and it won't stop.
So, yes, I can see why Chinese would rather skip all that and go directly to what they know is coming no matter what. Why prolong it? Why get Trumped in several phases when they know he is going to the final endgame now.

The opening question in this video is actually a very very keen question and so much so that all three instantly swerved to anything else and talked of how things are. But that question is a double-edged sword that forces the Leftists and the Righties to some confessions. I'd suggest something though:
- As a general 'right-wing conservative' type of worldview, ideally, IF it were possible, the end-game, the goal, is YES they would love a world where every country is wealthy.
(democratic.. hmmmm...maybe not actually but probably yes, mostly).
Versus,
- The Lefty gets stumped on this. The typical left-wing neo-marxist gets stumped because what you just asked them to imagine is a world where she isn't a little goddess who 'invests in people' and 'helps them' and is white savior AND to the communist there a world where there is no 'Worker vs Capitalist' or today 'PoC vs Whites'.
Then they lost their mechanism and their status and then what when there are no 'victims vs oppressors'?
BTW this reminds me, Triggernometry guys. I once posed this kind of question on Reddit before getting massive rage replies and banned for racial incitement etc but it goes like this:
- I ask them to suppose the year is 2040 (or any year) but the point being is we all wake up one day to the news; for the first time the dream is reality. We tripled checked identity cards and the central monitoring of race/gender/sex lusts/transmen etc etc and guys.. we did it!
Exactly 50% of CEOs are women. Not only that there is exactly 50-50 wage equality across the boards. The digital monitors confirm exact number of homosexuals per position, per capita, there is flawless income equality for the black class, the brown, we double check and in fact, we cannot find a minority, class, color, gender, that hasnt, AT LAST it worked, we did it!!
It's not just a fluke, incredibly the number of perfect equality of gays, penis, vagina, 50% of scientists are female, everything actually just stays that way for years and decades..
...Describe what actually happens? Meaning, what benefit happens? what is the advantages we start seeing. Is there new inventions? all people become wealthier, happier? We see murder and crime rates take a meaningful decline?
Foods, cars, bridges all get better faster and pollution, cooler global temperatures?

speaking of dishonesty. 'there were not bodies being diescrretly removed from homes'.
Well a keyword there is 'discreetly'. In ways that you, in lockdown wouldn't be able to see happening (not likely).
Right? Tell me, how often have you ever seen bodies removed from homes, anywhere, in the UK or China or elsewhere? ALmost never? yes because its usually done "discreetly".
One of the reasons I know something about this? One summer I worked for a funeral home and I was the assistant 'discreet remover'.
If you lived in big cities in China, populations of over a million then you realize that 1000s of people die every day right?
do some loose math, population, life expectancy, births + deaths divide by 365 days a year etc etc. 1000s.
No, I dont mean covid, I mean naturally. any time, any year, any day.
Tell me how often you've ever seen a body being removed from a home or hospital?
Maybe once or twice?
Now what?

@slappyabromowitz TDS doesn't imply histrionics. Keep in mind TDS is a spectrum just like most psychological disorders. Peter is just coming out of a kind of apoplectic shock (Trumps win) so the first reappearing symptoms are going to be mild 'mitigation'.
This is where any talk about Trump requires at least one mitigating counter. I'm making up a classic exaxmple:
--
"So, Trump did win the electoral college but lets be clear this wasn't quite the 'landslide' he'd like to boast about. A win, yes, but ...margins 2%, states by only.. this was not Reagan ".
--
the TDS sufferer CAN acknowledge a Trump win but it must be mitigated by some 'didn't win' observations for at least as many words or more
Should a Trump trade policy prove itself undeniably effective? TDS has to be sure to minimize, truncate and backhand compliment. like this:
-------
"welp, despite all the flubs, and there have been a few!, but in spite of all that let's give Trump credit where it's someimes due, at least he got this one thing right... well.. for now, until he finds a way to screw it up"
------
Zeihan has 'Long TDS' which can be a slow burn and takes a while before he starts mentioning that something Trump is "playbook" and 'Hitler' and ends up ranting 'hysterically' from a basement broadcast.
No, it's really a myth that TDS invokes histrionics.
TDS sufferers are far more likely to be the victims (of themselves) in relentless life-draining mental chess games of mitgation, obfuscation, caveats, invoking self-blindness here but hyper-awareness there, playing dumb, exaggeration, conflating and more likely to wear themselves down into 'fog states' than hysteria.
Granted, 'histrionics' could appear in menopausal females and/or celebrities afflicted with TDS.

@felhomaly Yes, third countries take refugees all the time.
Keep in mind, we're told Israel is murdering innocent Palestinians so that is not an option to send them to the enemy that is trying to murder them.
but yes, Hamas can make other countries take it's refugees. Of course, this happens all the time, everywhere. Western countries have taken 1000s of them already and there isn't a need for "a" second country but rather dozens of them can take some.
If 20 nearby safe countries take a share then its easy, only around 50,000 temporary refugees.
Keeping in mind, almost all 'Palestinians' are Jordanian, Iranian, Lebonese, etc. Those are their home countries anyway.

Yes she was playing word games and counting on some audience to then 'imagine dragons' the fictionalized magic creatures of fairy tales and movies.
Rogan's guest is very much onto something of course. while looking at my Chinese heritage i found it very interesting to learn that when they go over (i think its the early Han dynasty??) the 'Dragon Handler' of the 'dragon stables' is just listed as an actual 'real life, real place' job title. Like there's a horse master, a bird master, a dragon master, a dog master type thing.
In the Chinese zodiac take note: they are just normal earthly animals. tiger, pig, dog, mouse, dragon, rabbit, ... the dragon is just one of 12 normal animals. It's just there as if they include it as a nomal living creature.
Right, nowhere is the ancient accounts of dragons 'supernatural' but basically just some kind of large serpent.
there really are Komodo dragons. There really are gigantic massive crodociles. there are even gigantic massive snakes too. So its not some CRAZY WTF to think that.
but she's playing on the audience to think 'fantasy artist dragons' of course. its so cheap and ghey.

@tonglianheng The meaning of ethnicity should, above all, have some meaningful distinctions.
Otherwise, there is not point or purpose to designating someone as an 'ethnicity'.
Example,
if I go travel around Southern Guangxi province and its not just that someone dubbed 'Zhuang ethnic minority' doesn't need to have classic Zhuang facial features.
But to be 'ethnic' of any meaningful sense they would have a Zhuang language, customs, some kind of distinct music or culture, foods, etc.
But if the only meaningful difference is that their grandparents had these things but they themselves couldn't even distinguish themselves from any other 'Han' Chinese nor could any 'Han' identify them as Zhuang?
That's not much of an 'ethnic minoriy' but rather that is integration.
In Chicago, a lot of people may well have irish family names and so genetically, yes, by some facial features and DNA they may even be over 75% Irish,
however,
They don't speak a word of Gaelic or know where Ireland is, for 5 generations they've long since admixed into the greater American population?
They are simply not an 'ethnic minority'. Not of any real meaning.
When I'm in Jilin province I find myself in a neighborhood where suddenly signs are in Korean. Actually some of their faces do look Korean though that's not important, they speak Korean language, they are cooking and eating in a kind of way that 'Han' don't and they do, they have some shared stories, culture, some festivals nobody else does. Now they do live inside China's borders, some are PRC Citizens with all that comes with that.
They speak Mandarin too, they even have a Vivo phone,
but,
This is an 'ethnic minority' yes.
'Josen' or whatever name they're given.
versus,
I'm going to look around Jilin for some kind of 'Manchu'.
There isn't any 'Manchu' ethnic group beyond our 'Irish' of Chicago. I mean, sure, maybe they are 70% Jurchen if we did a DNA test?
Sure, I suppose 100 years ago their great grandfather was identifiable as a distinct ethnicity, a Manchu... but today, in 2025 if the person even knows, they are indistinguishable from any given 'Han' Chinese.
Do you know what does NOT make an ethnicity an ethnicity?
creating an 'ethnicity card', handing it to vilagers then having a Shanghai theater company createt for them, in 2018, some Han clothing designers government approved 'Ethnic Costume' and then assigning them the Shanghai Theater composers 'ethnic songs' they're told to memorize and then having them put on this fake 'ethnic performance' at a Sping Festival Gala even though its as unfamiliar to them as if it was given to any given Han Chinese in Hebei province and told its their new 'ethnic culture' but pretend its really old.
I dont' even ask for much, just something, some way someone can be identified as having some cultural distinction. The minimum has to be more than "well they have 51% DNA from a previous era".
Yes indeed, if I'm in Chicago, there is a Pakistani restaurant where .. and many may be born in the USA, even 2nd generations... and its not because they are facially different.. they are an 'Ethnic group', they speak some Pakistani language, have distinct customs, festivals, rituals, songs, foods, be it cooking or traditions etc etc.
Down the street I can still say this has some reason to be called an Italian Ethnic group. Its not much and its not because they look Italian in their faces (or they mixed so they don't really look Italian) but there is SOME degree of distinction, foods, customs, they dont even speak Italian but they use Italian words, apparently some Italian hand-waving body language, live with their mothers, have specific ways to cook that are not like the greater population, they seem to share songs, customs.
There is SOME meaning to distinguishing them as an 'ethnic group' besides simply being '35% Italian DNA' on a test.
Walk down the street and the fact, the very point that I can reognized this is an ethnically Chinese neighborhood, that I'd evne know to say "Im in Chinatown" is because there are actual ethnic distinctions.
When nobody who lives in Anhui could even tell if their own spouse was 'Hui' nor could anyone being called 'Hui' tell anyone else as Hui that's not an 'Ethnic Group' and not just because nobody would have anything more than 10% 'Hui People' DNA in a blood test either.
I hope this helps.
Mainland China has so few 'ethnic minorities' that it seems to be contriving them in the silliest of ways.
Finding a greater ethnic group but then someone in Beijing decides they will divide those up into 3 or 5 'distinct ethnic groups' when there is no important distinction.
Dozens of them are enclaves of just a few remnants of border changes over time and that doesn't mean they are NOT an ethnic group however China doesn't need to declare '56 different ethnicities.. can you believe how diverse!' because 17 ethnic Russian families still live on the Chinese side of the border to Russia,
because there are still 30 Thai-speaking Thais on the China PRC side of the border of Thailand.
Here's something you can do some math with: Figure out the percentage of the lower 50 ethnicities?
What would ALL FIFTY make up in Mainland population combined?
Would it be more than 3%?
2%?
Zhuang and Miao (arguably the same but made into 2 different but forget that) combine them.
That's the two largest ethnic minorities in China, combined might be... what?
2% of the population.
Neither, you, me, Han or even most 'Zhuang' (on a government ID card) would be able to identify most young Zhuang today as being anything distinct from the 'Han' population.
maybe 3?
But you see my criticism yes?
"China has MANY Ethnicities it has to deal with with all these diverse groups!"
this is the tone of voice, the insinuation,
yet,
30 of those are teeny-tiny little enclaves who, certainly the under-50 year olds, have 'Han-ified' anyway but would be, COMBINED something like 0.09% of the total population.
China's Mainland is one of the single most homogenous 'mono-culture' mono-racial mono-ethnic nations on earth.
in 2025, nearly 98% of everyone is the 'Han' ethnicity for all meaning.
The 0.09% Uighurs were the only 'meaningful' distinct 'ethnic group' and the Tibetans 0.5% the other where you can certainly see they are different enough to be called an 'ethnic group'.
These are the only two significant numbers.
Uighurs are less and less and less every years and in a decade will be mostly 'Han-ified' and absorbed and admixed.
and there is nothing wrong with that. It's perfectly fine.
Japanese are pretty close to 99% Japanese. Good for them.
So are Koreans nearly 100% a single monocultural people. good for them!
So is China. Good for China!
No need to pretend China is a rich and diverse tapestry of so so many ethnicities!
no.
No need for that.
It's not a 'Gaokao score' whoever can get the 'highest ethnicity score', that's not a thing, no need for that.

Can I clear something up about all of these graduates, these diploma holders, these Masters degrees in Mainland China?
For at least a decade, and please believe me I know this intimately, as my own job, for a decade now:
- Like many things in China, a lot of university degrees are just superficial nonsense. They are cheap plastic toys in quality, they are often just outright 'counterfeit' but there is also a problem of massive over-production on levels that would even make the insane overabundance of diiplomas in the western world surprised.
Many of them did not work hard either. Unlike some other countries, Chinas students actually go through homework and exam score hell through their primary and eventually 'Gaokao' exams. University? those kids flop over that campus gate like a marathon runner falls over the finish line.
Thats the Finish Line for them. They fall down, exhale, they MADE IT and now they play video games and glue into the phone for the next 4-8 years and in a real way they see it like this:
I already did this. I made it to the (choose major) diploma. I got it! Now, its just a case of waiting 4 or 5 or 7 years until they give me that paper I have already earned.
For a MASSIVE number of those graduates that is what this is. They couldn't actually do 'the thing itself' beyond what most could google and fake their way through anyway.
I don't blame any students either. 10 years ago they ram-crammed any student who was living and breathing into campuses and now there are 100 million Landscape Designers ... well so the Design Engineering diploma says so.
I don't blame them.
but seriously this is why very little of this can ever translate into any kind of actualy career of any substance.

@BallyBoy95 Japan is closer, yes in part because it has a superior military, is ore advanced in all areas of technology and has far more money per citizen/soldier,
HOWEVER,
That isn't all that would make a 'superpower'. It's deeply and broadly integrated, networked and allied around the world with influence and being able to call on and utlize their influance, from sanctions to buying 1000 missiles and loading up islands to borrowing money and getting favor.
This is really the massively important part to being a 'superpower'.
Japan is not a 'superpower' but it's most definitely closer to being one that China's Mainland can ever be.
In fact, one of Japans most locked-in Allies with very strategic 'geopolitical' power and massive technological power (like for example high-end sophisticated computer chips) actually IS a part of China.
So that solves that and has Japan 'closer' than China can be.
India? a lesser version and yet despite being around equal to China in wealth it's less per perons/soldier, it has 1.4 billion people and it's military bigger, better and more experienced than China yes,
HOWEVER,
India being *closer to a superpower is... see the same reasons Japan is.
Although sometimes a rocky and spotty alliance - India does have one with the USA and is (kinda, mostly) with good international influences and friends, allies, networks with much of the Western world as well as the Pacific Rim (Hong Kong, Taiwan, mostly).
This makes India a long long way from being a 'superpower' but is why its CLOSER to being one than the PRC part of China.
all that said,
there is only one superpower in the world and its the USA and Russia isn't even close. There is no close 2nd place.
China is nowhere near 'superpower' status and with it's economy imploding, decoupling, making enemies all over the place and a population thats not just in stunning decline but entering a 'sick old man of Asia' demographic where it has many many old people but very few young 'working years' people in comparison.
You've got a lot to learn about China and how things work in China hehe a LOT to learn (and unlearn) but maybe that helps get you started!

In a certain way, teenage students can be very very clever and smart IN THAT some of these have really mastered how to throw a teacher right off their game. This is what happens, yes indeed the have their head down, you may as well be talking to the back wall and then many teachers get frustrated, lose their place, we can't work with that, soon everything we wan to do isn't right, we lose our own trains of thought. Mind you, I recently saw a teacher, and I admired this, the classroom was exactly these kids in the video and yet, almost comically, he'd do 60 minutes AS IF he was in a normal engaged class. AS IF at least one student was there agreeing, asking questions, trying to sort it out. He'd do a really good 60 minutes literally, physically AT the back wall. He once said something like "why should I become a terrible teacher... as far as I'm concerned its free practice time for when I do get engaged students".
But if you see what happens - in a way they have developed some clever skills to dismantle a teacher until it become a kind of self-fulfilling loop. The teacher does eventually suck, can't do it, wont do it, gives up and THAT is exactly what they wanted to prove they have no reason to give a damn and engage after all.

@somethingaccessories No. this isn't that kind of thing. In this case, the most likely subject is someone who develops their brain and their understanding of the world while routinely playing video games. This is when their very brain, the very 'wiring' is developing.
really, by definition, a game is something for which there are solutions. there would be a way to answer a given problem.
So even if you keep losing a turn, by great determination, practice, skill improvement there is a combination of buttons that will, if you work at it, defeat the boss! level up.
Indeed, if a player becomes convinced that no matter what they do, no matter how often how hard, how well it keeps failing they 'Rage Quit'.
If a game has you make the right choices, do everything perfectly and nothing happens its a 'glitch' a bad game, a flaw in the game.
So what happens is we have our 12th grader who's logged in more hours of game solving than anything else in life and certainly any other activity outside of school hours.
He is now becoming an indepenent decision maker. He asks an ideal lady to the prom but she refuses. He tries again, this time putting a really good effort, she refuses then tells her friends he is 'creepy' and they sneer at him.
He applies for a job he is perfect for and they don't even call back.
He gets a job that he's not good at and tries to romance a coworker and gets fired for it. He was driving home perfectly, absolutely following all the rules and yet loses 10 points on a ticket that nobody else doing far worse ever gets,
He upgrades skills, invests in some degrees, starts to work out and dress better and gets told to eff right off and what can happen..
.....His entire, his axiomatic comprehension of the world, the only way his brain can 'cogitate' is that this cannot be. This cannot compute, it has to be a gross personal attack on himself or what? Rage Quit this effing game!
Like slamming the monitor its a kind of way to physically put things right, where there is a reward for effort and skill and doing the right things.
because in this world, outside of games, the so called 'real world' we live in, much of the time, there is no reward for effort and you may get leveled-down.
There is no solution to a challenge, none, it has no answer.
practice leads to failure or nothing much.
So this is the way video gaming can, for some people, develop them into a way of understanding and solving things that cannot work in the rest of their lives.

@TrutherAudiobooks In fact, we normal humans do impart the responsibility of children onto parents.
You do it all the time, people put it on your parents instead of you 5 years ago and legally we do it across the world.
So, no, it wouldn't be blamed on the 11-to-18 year old, as I taught you.
When you get into adulthood, you're around what, 22 now? then you 'rage-quitting' right now because you can't just win this level, get past me by clicking the right combination of keystrokes? Yes, then that is on you.
However, as i taught you earlier, the video games were the tool, the machine, the misinformation you believed in.
btw, just so you know, no adult is superrrrr stupid and was insisting the actualy game itself, the 'CD' or the electronic codes and pixels were 'hypnotizing you' and ordering you to be enraged or drive the van through the crowd.
In a similar way, when we say Maos 'little red book' is what compelled the teenage girl to report her parents to the government for punishments etc, we didn't actually think the physical red book itself emitted 'control rays' and like a demon it possessed her body.
Just so you know, that's not the actual concept, gamer

@daveg-Vancouver_Island No, not really.
We can do it this way: Lets say you lose your Canadian passport and find yourself stranded in an international airport 'counryless'.
no joke, this has actually happened to people
but GOOD NEWS! the UN met and finally 2 countries agreed to give you a passport. There is a condition: whichever one you take, you must agree to live there the rest of your life and any family.
(fine, you get 2 weeks vacation a year) but you really have to stay, live and work and retired in the nation you choose.
USA or Netherlands.
Even before you finished reading this you know that you'd choose the USA.
Yes indeed you would because among other things, there is nothing in The Netherland you could not find in the USA anyway. Heck, you can even find enclaves of the many Dutch who immigrated to the USA. You can have all the tall big-headed people, foods, wear wooden shoes, be weirdly arrogant and paint trim in your houses in the USA.
but yes, you would choose the USA passport. You did in your mind, You know it andI know it.

Things aren't always what they seem to be. Indeed, Beijing's Tiananman area (seen here) has been kept very clear over the last 10 years. You'd also see some really revoting things and ugly dirty alleys but overall that district is their showcase zone. Yes, you will also find new places still look.. well.. new! They are literally un-dirty yet.
On the down side, China, as in most places in China, outside some showcase downtown malls or maybe a newly completed project will be grimey, dusty, some are just utterly disgusting shlthole messes and then overall its not so clean and tidy.
'Safe' is something to define. China is overall dangerous for being hit by vehicles, falling items, electrical, awful sidewalks, sinkholes, really watch out for 'jagged metal' often at body level so you can slice open on it and then the next most serious danger: contaminated food, counterfeit food, tap water (do not drink without boiling) various e-coli, germs etc in foods or drinks. This might actually be THE most dangerous thing but again careful around faulty elevators or even just obstacles you can trip and fall on.
'Crime Safe' as in 'physical assault type crime', China is pretty goof for foreigners. Generally speaking, you may get cheated or tricked out of money, maybe intimidated but the average thug tries to avoid foreigners.
Now, more recently, some foreigners have been stabbed to death (or survived) again. These are usually some anti-foreigner psychos who stab foreigners or throw them off a tower or something.
The other thing is that you want to watch out for mass-stabbing and mass-vehicle murder attacks which won't be specifically at you. They aren't aiming for a foreigner but usually Chinese children or Chinese and you would just happen to be in th way.
Otherwise, besides 'taxi scams' or some 'tea house intimidation' the average violent type of Chinese thug will purposely AVOID foreigners because they are foreigners.
This is kind of the opposite of LA where I'd say the thugs, if anything, would look for foreigners to mug or beat up.
China is not necessarily safe for Chinese and like anywhere there are certain places they know to avoid and certain things you do not get involved with either. If a Chinese avoids those things then overall, much like LA, they would rarely be victims of any kind of physical violence.
