Louis-Vincent and Kevin Walmsley — both in China for many years, both objective — and both in the know.

It’s so gratifying to see Prof Sachs rising to the highest level of truth seeking.

Ron Unz is an intellectual giant of our times, different in focus than Nassim Taleb, but equally profound. His website — which features not only his own research across multiple areas — includes the writings of a vast array of major intellectuals observing the world around us.

@PavillonNoirParis false. China has the longest continuous civilization in history. Unlike the so called jujubes.

@ctournet your comment certainly shows the level of your knowledge— business 101. For you, time stands still.

Read the “Legacy of Violence: A History of the British Empire” by Caroline Elkins. A comprehensive account of the psychopathy of the British from its earliest days to the present.

Not just stupidity — incompetence. The speaker says that Apple tried for 20 years to develop in this area. It finally threw in the towel this month.

@Andy-P a comment which exposes your ignorance is not “CCP” by definition. Do you know what an ad hominem attack is? Why not keep up with a serious discussion by being informed rather than being the butt of ridicule?

US-China trade was a privileged relationship until about 2018. Trump changed that. The US produces less, and China more, particularly in advanced manufactures, in the intervening 9 years. China has been steadily reducing its purchases of US exports (ag, chips, energy) over this period and this will continue. Trump and his advisors (Navarro, Lighthizer et al) can try to expand the policies of his first term but it’s likely that they will continue to produce the same results.

The fact that there is very little in terms of updates seems to raise that question logically. The main stream media has not reported anything for several days. I’ve read that Austin made a trip to Ukraine in the week before Christmas and New Years, which raises further questions.

@Andy-P very foolish comment revealing profound ignorance. Take a course in economics if they offer one in your dream. Or buy the book GDP by Diane Coyle.
4
@Andy-P that’s not what ad him8nem means. You’ve got a long ways to go so start now

Prof Hanke looks unusually youthful for having advised Reagan 40+ years ago. But the clarity of his thinking is very persuasive. I wonder what he thinks of Trump’s fundamental intelligence level. People often said Reagan was not that bright, but his years are now remembered fondly.

@DW-op7ly obviously failed arithmetic in elementary school.

“Insatiable addiction”? Is a vacuum cleaner an “addiction”? A printer? A toaster? What an absurd comment.

You are unquestionably correct that China studied the industrialization process of the west and, in particular, Japan. Modernization in the west is really a process which is capitalist at heart — rewards to the few, who become fewer and fewer as wealth accumulates in the rentier class. This is unacceptable to the cultural and spiritual values of China. However, this unbridled greed has co-opted its neighbors who superficially adopted Confucian values but dropped them quickly when offered extreme material wealth. That’s why Japan, S Korea and Taiwan are in the situation they;are in. They are countries without fundamental human values.

@kallekas8551 what’s your point? All technology evolves? We knew that already.

It’s more accurate to say she is a deep fake.

These fallacies are not only pushed by media…but by Nobel Laureates.

For both Biden and Trump, “you can’t tech n old dog new tricks”.
2
@DisenchantedWithSociety an incredibly unironic comment. You think only the “first world” aspires to such everyday things? Your moniker, however, is indicative

This is sympathetic presentation but quite incomplete. There are no causal links. However, intelligent and objective people (with a good memory and basic pattern recognition skills) can see the major causal mechanism.

What? Problem with Gaza originates with the US and NATO? Unsubscribed.

There is some probability, however small, that Trump will earn his position in the history of American presidents — as the one who took the definitive steps leading to the rapid economic decline of the US. If so, he will become famous beyond his wildest dreams.

The quasi-metaphysical point you made at the beginning of the video is exactly the point made by Nassim Taleb. He says that, had there been earlier, smaller failures of financial firms, then Lehman and Bear Stearns might have been able to survive.

@henli-rw5dw did you get your information from a world book encyclopedia in your grade school? FDR was a cover for the American elites gentiles and Jews that now dominate the country today.

Deutschland und China sollten zusammenarbeiten und zum Teufel mit allen anderen.

@kallekas8551 ICE enabled personal mobility, yes…had nothing to do with “democracy”. It’s clear, however, from his writings, that Ford did want cars to enable the common man, so yes, his impulse was visionary. You certainly won’t find that humanity among the Gates and Thiels of today. Let’s admit the truth — today’s elites believe deeply in their own superiority over others, so why would rules intended for the masses apply to them? Not very different from the justification for g*n*c*d* imho.

This is a mixed bag from Wolff as always. He seems to speak for the common man — but he sneaks in subtle plugs for his real motivation (“Biden wanted to get rid of the sanctions that Trump put it”. Anyone who believes that is beyond hope.

@theresanolan1157 thx Esther.
