  1. Ben, I hope you’re not as naive as you appear here. Krugman is no dummy (he was one of my Econ professors) — he’s merely toeing the line as an establishmentarian. I’d wager he’s long gold, not USD. As for El-Erian, he was Bill Gross’s right hand man at PIMCO, the largest bond fund in the world. His columns at the FT are the most anodyne in the world. No one reads him — a quick skim at most.
