She wants to destroy it because it’s not what she wants it to be. She and her comrades are moral infants.

He might not be a danger to his community, but he has demonstrated a propensity to travel great distances to engage in illegal behavior. He is a danger to other communities. He should be locked up until his trial, not monitored with an ankle bracelet.

@forzatuner3916 And the day-to-day bookkeeper and the check signer shouldn’t be the same person.

@popaustinmedia8806 He probably means some racist BS, but Polk County Sheriffs are racially diverse, and one of Sheriff Grady Judd’s mentors was a black sheriff’s deputy in Polk County. You can complain about some of his opinions on some topics, but the sheriff doesn’t have a racist bone in his body. If you watch him for years as I have, you’ll see he’s a good leader and a decent man. He does put on a folksy hick act, but don’t let it fool you.

Three murders, DUI, fleeing the scene. That’s 5 charges, (and there might have been more). It’s a stiff sentence, no doubt. But not crazy excessive, agreed?
9
But he’s by-the-book. You’re looking at a leader that doesn’t take shortcuts and doesn’t countenance bad policing from his subordinates. He gets things done by hard work and leading a department by that work ethic.

The morally stunted claim all the rights of citizenship, but deny and avoid the responsibilities. These so-called conservatives have the ethical and moral development of a 4-year old.
8
It’s worse than senseless. It will keep you awake at night. “These people spilled their drinks all over the back seat! I can’t take this job anymore!” I am not intending to offend, but the EMTs and ER people I have known over the years all had very dark senses of humor.
6
Probably because they have evidence that the victims didn’t commit the crime, like they were at work at the time it took place or whatnot.
6
Yeah, that’d be nice. Sadly, what you typed only applies to Polk County. In many other counties, the criminal element is running amok. Leon County is a good example. Did you know there is a criminal gang operating openly out of 700 N. Adams Street in Tallahassee?

@DerangedAussieMan If you get too drunk to drive, that bar within 10 miles of your home is walking distance. Better get an early start!

It’s unusual for such a lengthy delay. But there was one trial that ended in a mistrial. You have to restart the clock. The delays might be the fault of the prosecution, and not the judge, so your criticism of the judicial system (judicial system is the system of courts and judges) might be misplaced. While judges have a certain amount of discretion, they also have to follow rules. When they depart from those rules, they open up the possibility of having their decisions overturned. What was the basis of the mistrial and who called it and why? What I’m saying is that if you want to change things, you really need to understand the nature of the problem. Your reaction of outrage is understandable; justice delayed is justice denied, as the saying goes. If you are looking for more than just an outlet of your displeasure, look deeper into how this could happen, by what process was the accused able to delay the trial?

Sheriff’s deputies and police officers know what they signed up for. When they come into work each day, they know that there is the possibility that they will have to do some paper work. It’s part of the job, don’t glorify them for it. They’re trained to do paperwork. Oh, you meant they have to deal with the emotional effects of shooting someone dead. Well, you have a point. I was thinking about all the forms they have to fill out after shooting someone.
4
Sheriff Grady Judd has a very dry sense of humor. When they caught a bunch of pedophiles in a sting, he said something like “and now we get to the pastor. There’s always a pastor.”
4
It’s really not, but OK. It’s irrelevant to a finding of guilt or evidence. You want to find justification that is apparently not there. Presumably the investigation found evidence that the brothers didn’t commit the crime. Maybe they were at work. Maybe it’s proven that they were far away, with witnesses. What you seem to want to do is blame the victims.
2
Or worse, do what the kings of England did to those they considered treasonous.
2
Only donate directly to the Polk County Sheriff’s victims’ fund—they give all the money to the victims’ family. They don’t take a cut like crowdfunding sites.

@jamesoncross7494 And the liberal soft in crime governor, right?
1
Why is she the gold digger and he’s not the pussy digger?
1
If you try to turn this horrible incident into “evidence” of your pet conspiracy theory, you’re actively engaging in the same mentally ill behavior as the murderer.
1
You think someone is holding him until a reward is posted?
1
I think that means there’s a chance one or both will straighten up sooner rather than later. They’re stupid kids—very stupid to be going that fast. But they might be capable of feeling the sting of shame from their families. This isn’t just about punishments their parents might mete out. Indeed, they will wish that they could just take the punishment and move on.

He’s a criminal defense attorney. He intentionally reworded the common saying to be more favorable to his client. If you don’t approve, take him to court. 😄
1
Sure, Burt.
1
Why do you care so much? Your reaction is Pavlovian.
1
Is Florida experiencing a shortage of violent psychos and needs to import them from Pennsylvania?
1
@bluebabex420 I agree. WRT to tracking him with his phone, it’s pretty easy to dispose of your phone, either by throwing it away or destroying it.
1
Got it. You think Florida law enforcement are idiots who don’t know what they’re doing. And reading between the lines, you’d like to see the parents lynched. Is that about right, or did I overstep?
1
An angle grinder is a grinder that is capable of cutting metal. I’m not sure if the distinction matters here, other than it’s much more gruesome murder weapon it’s and sickening to imagine it.
1
@theapplianceguru I’m with you. All these YouTube jurists are overthinking it. It’s like a part of a comic spiel for criminal defense attorneys: “My client is presumed innocent until proven not guilty, and it’s a well known fact that you can’t prove a negative, therefore my client is innocent. Quod Erad Demonstratum!”
1
When you’re elected President, you can nominate him your Attorney General. Meanwhile, Grady Judd is exactly where he should be and where he can do the most good. I disagree with him about legalization of pot—it’s the prohibition that causes crime and violence, not marijuana. But he’s a good cop, a good administrator, and doesn’t brook his people taking shortcuts. He’s weeded out corruption in his own organization instead of covering it up.

Cardiac arrest

Are you thinking of tricking your neighbor’s kids into murdering someone so you can collect some of that sweet driveway rental money?
1
That’s not true. You’re thinking of spousal privilege to avoid testifying. It is NOT a legal privilege between parent and children or between siblings to evade testifying if they’re called as witnesses. They have a right not to SELF-incriminate, they have the right to a lawyer to help them to not incriminate themselves, and if called as witnesses and put under oath, they can plead the 5th to avoid self incrimination.
1
The brothers got the death penalty for a crime they didn’t commit. A vigilante acted as judge, judy, and executioner, and that vigilante is on trial. And yes, I ripped off the Judge Judy bit from Hot Fuzz.
1
It sounds like he was insane. That doesn’t mean he didn’t understand what he was doing, which is the underlying basis of a not-guilty-by-reason-of-insanity defense. An insane person like Riley is suffering a delusional break, but knows full well what he is doing. The one difference of opinion I have with Sheriff Grady Judd is that the fictional narrative of Riley’s delusions were completely made up by Riley. Anyone paying attention to the mania of conspiracy theories gripping many people knows exactly where Riley found the components of his evil fantasy of saving a sex trafficking victim.
1
I'm I agree about Judd being a good man, but I do deny that your a good person with good intentions. You’re making up lies about the vaccines and spreading disinformation. You have a malevolent agenda.
1
Yup. And the mythical “good guy with a bowling ball” was nowhere to be seen.
1
@StainsStainsStains You believe that nonsense? He or somebody on some conspiracy website made that figure up. They just pulled the number out of their butt.
