@lucaniouspetrenko9404 Incorrect, the dead were Russian contract killers and Russian soldiers who removed their insignia from their uniforms. The Azov Brigade espoused ultra-nationalism, not much different from what your dear Vladimir Puto preaches—the main difference being that it wasn’t expansionist. I have little sympathy for extremist ideologies of any type, but Ukraine was smart in how they handled Azov. They put it under military discipline, and then watered down the extremist ideologues by expanding the unit. The extremist politicians that were affiliated with Azov were voted out of office and their views generally discredited. Ukraine is more democratic today than it was 8 years ago. When you point your finger at Ukrainian naziism, you’re pointing three fingers back at your own extreme form of fascism—Putinism.

@lucaniouspetrenko9404 That’s some excellent research you’re doing if you think there are 2 million soldiers in the Azov Battalion. From your intellectual capacity, I think your parents locked you in a trunk for 8 hours every day and told you that you were going to school.

@thisnameisnotfake517 A unit suffering attrition can still manage defensive operation even when it is incapable of offensive operations. Think of the allied troops in the German’s Ardennes counter-offensive. They were units sent to a “quiet” part of the front to recuperate and refit. They held on defensively but wouldn’t have been capable of counterattacking after the German attack reached its culmination. That required the nearly full strength 3rd Army.

@charonstyxferryman “Life was easier when we were told what to think. Putin has brought those days back.” And Putin didn’t even need red hats with the slogan “Make Russia Soviet Again”.

@stephen8996 A soldier that might have lived another 50 years but instead died for an unworthy cause, has thrown away 50 years of life. He has truly wasted his own life.

@sakils2 It’s a battalion? It’s probably more like 500-1000. And the majority are not ideological. UKR did a smart thing by putting Azov under military discipline and weeding out the extremists. Once they controlled Azov, they could channel the nationalism into something positive. Azov might have started as an extremist paramilitary group, but that’s been washed out of it.

I like their sailor moon outfits.

@johnringwood5251 <—Tankie Sorry, comrade, Stalin is dead and Putin might be ruthless and violent, but he’s not 1% as crafty as Stalin.

Especially if your advance depends on “an airport too far”.
