  2. Heyo! I recently subscribed for your Ukraine coverage and I’m looking at your older videos. Don’t feel bad that the Estonian Army has no A-10s. Neither does the U.S. Army. The A-10 is Air Force equipment. I think the cost of the AC 130 is affordable. It’s the ammo that gets expensive. 😄 But if it’s too rich for your blood, maybe its predecessor the AC 47 will be more in your budget. One last thing: “Our enemies call it x” is bull poopie. Enemies that have faced an AC 130 don’t call it anything because they’re dead. 😄

  3. Re: limitations. It can be refueled in flight, but it can’t be resupplied with ammo in flight. 😄 (If it can be, that’s classified!)

  4. Don’t call the crew that. There’s lots of heterosexual guys in the Air Force. Edit: my mistake, I hadn’t gotten to the snack break part. My point still stands, tho.

  6. Not really effective against cities. That said, it’s very effective against buildings in cities.

  7. Spooky was the name of the gunship based on the C-47 transport plane (AC 47, naturally). I think it was also named “Puff the Magic Dragon” which was the title of a popular folk song and also because of the way the gunship rained down fire on the enemy.

  8. You know your doctrine. The thing I found interesting about the gunships is the technique of orbiting/loitering over a battlefield, and circling above the target, pouring on the fire until the threat is gone. Super useful if your position is under attack.

  9. A-10 is fine at a distance, using its missiles. In fact, strafing is undesirable if there’s even a hint of SAMs or MANPADS in the area. Just because you might survive doesn’t mean you want to roll the dice. Honestly, after being an A 10 fanboy for many years, I think its day is past. Also, it’s a sitting duck without air superiority.
