@Mozkonauta My experience (11 years in Mexico) is the same as yours. My neighbor raises gallinas and an occasional guajolote. I buy pavo in the store (usually in the form of carnes frías packaged by Fud). I had thought that “gualojote” was related to the sound they make. A lot of neighbors raise a few chickens on their roof, but his operation is something you’d see on a rancho, not in town.
