  1. Setting aside Ambrose’s many problems with accuracy, the show has a definite Winters bias, focusing on him more than any other soldier. On top of that, it’s frikkin’ Ron Livingston. He is naturally likeable and sympathetic. He’d have to work really hard against his typecasting, although there are some details in the show that support Buck’s account.

  2. He’s a great comedic actor, but dramatically I don’t think he could play against type. Maybe I’m wrong and unaware of roles he’s played unsympathetically.
