  1. From what I can tell, when people complain about the MIC, they’re complaining about lobbying. We should call it the Congressional Industrial Lobbying Complex, and we should note that defense contractors make up a very small part of it and face more scrutiny than other lobbying interests. Sometimes they complain about the military being overcharged for tools and parts from defense contractors. But they don’t educate themselves about government specifications and standards that push prices up. I do think there is a valid case for better and more social spending, but not at the expense of defense spending.
