@HesderOleh The careless vandalism reminded me of the cretins that broke into and vandalized the Capitol building. I just realized that shooting video of their crimes is another similarity.

@HesderOleh A soldier is under military discipline, no? I don’t think the vandal has the right to refuse to answer questions. He’s going to have to name the others with him or get piled in even deeper layers of shit for refusing to cooperate.

@Smokedouttasian Trashing a shop in this manner qualifies as looting. If he took something off the shelf and put it back, it wouldn’t be looting. But he’s taking things that aren’t his, and then destroying them. The first act is stealing, the second act is the destruction. In a different context this might be considered simple (and ugly) vandalism. But this is a military context and military rules and standards apply.

@Smokedouttasian Just an English vocabulary note. The word you wanted to use is “infraction”. “Infracture” is a medical term, specifically related to plastic surgery (even more specifically, nose jobs). The words are related, of course, and both are based on Latin. Anyway, I had to look up infracture to absolutely make sure I wasn’t talking out my ass. It’s possible that the word “infracture” means “infraction” in other languages, but I figured that someone who posts thoughtful comments such as yourself would want to know the correct English word. I hope this was helpful.

Same here. I hope the soldier makes it through this deployment and then faces discipline and social consequences. His behavior reminds me of the cretins that invaded and trashed the capital building, the biggest difference being that the cretins had no legitimate justification for being there. Maybe the soldier is a MAGA Republican who’s trying to trigger the libs. 🤷🏻‍♀️
