  1. They thought (or maybe even had been promised) that the military was going to join in, and that Trump would publicly and explicitly call for an insurrection. Say what you will about Trump, he’s much too slippery to give that sort of direct support. He works through innuendo and having others do things for him. It’s an indication of how delusional these folks are, and an indication of how slick the president’s middle men are.
