  1. What a ridiculous thing to say. There are millions of talented creative people in the world today without these types of behavioral problems. I’m not going to diagnose anyone in this comment, but statements such as yours are often an indication of jealousy. Sometimes they’re the sort of thing a controlling person might say.

  2. When there are no consequences or accountability, getting help is often merely a means to escape further consequences. As far as the substance abuse issues, there are “soft” programs and their are “hard” ones. Privileged people usually keep trying the easier recovery programs, a lucky few are forced to attend the more hardcore disciplined recovery programs, which will give them a fighting chance.
