  1. Many people thought that, but it’s not the case. Front line fighting was carried out by trained and experienced units. Conscripts were to be used on the flanks and as “back-fill”. But the casualties on the frontlines has been pretty high, and the dead were replaced by conscripts. Oh, and a lot of elite units were destroyed the first day trying to take airports. The reinforcements didn’t get there in time.
