  1.  @bcecala76  glaciers are fresh water. WIth regard to your original point, do you mean that the earliest arrivals practiced burial-at-sea? Or do you mean that the bodies were buried in coastal lands now underwater? I’m not convinced about burial at all—burial is not a universal funerary practice. AFAIK, there are no universal funerary practices.

  2. I agree, although the genetics strongly point to a single or (at least) main ancestor group. I can imagine how population pressures might encourage some of the more adventurous to head off to find new lands—even if contact was later broken, there might have been an oral tradition of these sons and daughters who went east and south, and then others might follow when there was again population pressures.
