Are you saying that the issue is trivial compared to guns and school shootings?

Right wing of what? What do you mean by right wing? What were you expecting to hear?

Why do you call it an invasion? Do you think it’s literally an invasion or are you comfortable with hyperbole? Do you include asylum seekers in your definition of “illegal”? The extreme language you use makes it seem like YOU are not serious about solving immigration issues, but use the issues to advance your political faction. Cool down the rhetoric and start thinking about actual solutions and how they can be implemented.

No Christian is a hypocrite who believes that Christ has redeemed his or her soul by Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. If a Christian holds that faith, there is no limit on their behavior that excludes them from being a Christian. A Christian can be a bad person, but that has no impact on whether they are Christian or not. It is theologically safe for a Christian to ignore the ministry of Jesus, or to pick and choose what parts of Jesus’ teachings to venerate and follow. This is why I distinguish between followers of Christ and followers of Jesus. One can certainly be both, but one can also choose one over the other.

@TerreGates-h2j I didn’t claim you were saying anything, I was asking you for clarification.

@cglavin Your argument has some merit, but the way I would put it is that the American Center politics has always been to the right of the European Center politics. It’s a problem with the concept of the Overton Window: is there a correct position for it? Where is that position?

It’s never been more clear than Republicans killing their own legislation that would have gone a long way to addressing border issues, AFTER they were told to by Trump. Passing the legislation would have been very good for the party itself, but it deprived Trump of his one “real” issue. The Senate Republicans maneuvered the Democrats over a barrel and extracted maximum concessions. It was a masterclass in hardball politics and represented a major victory for the GOP (in addition to being good for the country). And Trump snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory. 😖 Because he needed the issue to run his campaign. Once again, the maga GOP disgusts me.
