  1. Notice how there weren’t a lot of wild fires in California this summer? Space Force knocked out the Yiddish space lasers. Also, they spell martial law “marshal”. But seriously, guys and gals, there’s a couple of sci fi books I think y’all should read: V.A.L.I.S. and Radio Free Albemuth. Both by Philip K. Dick, who is one of the under appreciated writers of science fiction, despite being the most adapted sci-fi writer in Hollywood.

  2. For decades the GOP kept the Lyndon LaRouches, David Dukes, and worse out of the party. But they didn’t keep a leash on the power hungry bad actor politicians like Newt Gingrich or Pat Buchanon. And it was politicians in the mold of Gingrich that began to take hold of the GOP because they were delivering votes by engineering the basest emotions. Then came 9/11, which gave many permission to unleash their inner racists (as long as the racism was directed at Arabs, until we elected a black President. The GOP set up a committee to do a postmortem and figure out a way forward. The committee concluded that the GOP should root out the racism so they could appeal to a wider variety of people, not just whites. The GOP took their report and wiped its collective ass with it. I hit what I think of as most of the major stepping stones, but let’s not forget that the GOP has a history of using race based fear to activate and motivate their base when it looked like an election might be close, and let’s not forget that Fox News was established in 1996. Nor should we forget that in 1992 we elected the biggest shit heel to the presidency, who would have gone down as the worst until we elected Trump. (And I pinched my nose and voted for his wife in 2016.)

  3. Possibly. We hear stories like that all the time. But there are large swaths of the country where this is how people think. They might not be full Q, but they believe the election was stolen and all manner of other bullshit. They’ve been indoctrinated, and it’s doubtful that they ever talk to sane people.
