  4. Agreed. The Republican Party has gone way beyond garden variety corruption and malfeasance (typified by Menéndez, as an example) that we have seen in both parties. I don’t know if this will give you any hope, but I think there has been a positive development. As the GOP has gotten worse, the Democrats have cleaned up their act. I hope my perception is correct and if it is, I hope the trend continues.

  5.  @carolharris2401  Tell me something: do most Americans understand the policies that the Dems propose? Or are they responding to buzzwords? It’s my impression that very few are willing to get into the details to understand how a policy will be implemented, what unintended consequences might arise, and how adjustments might be made.

  7. So you aren’t willing to step up? You want others to do all the work? What sort of campaign volunteering have you ever done? What things have you done to get out the vote? It’s not the leaders that are the real problem. It’s people that think that they’re doing democracy merely by going to the polls. Democracy requires that ordinary people organize and motivate each other to vote. If you expect your Democrat Party leaders to do all the work, maybe you share some of the blame.

  8.  @niataylorcolino  Aren’t there organizations in Texas whose purpose is registering people to vote? If so, have you considered volunteering for a few hours every week?
