Nah. He could escape. He just would lose a lot of lucrative gigs. Maybe he’s hoping for a seat on SCOTUS somewhere down the line.

You haven’t seen any pro Hamas signs anywhere? Have you seen any anti Hamas signs? Have you seen signs demanding that Hamas release the hostages?

@debc2237 When you call Israel the occupier, you are repeating Hamas. They mean Israel doesn’t have a right to exist. Israel occupies Israel is the issue for Hamas. When you use terms like anti-Zionist, you’re saying that Jews do not have a right to live in the Levant. That’s why anti-zionists are anti-semites. If you don’t understand these things, if you refuse to learn the history, you’re engaged in childish protest. Israel needs to wrap this up and withdraw from Gaza. They need to cease operations if that will get the hostages back. Israel needs to do a lot of things. But that doesn’t change the misguided nature of the anti-Israel protests.

Does Bill Barr believe those things he says about liberals and moderates? Does he sincerely fear that non-white, non-Christians occupying the political space to the left of right wing extremism are trying to oppress us? Is he conscious of how much he is projecting his own agenda onto his invented enemy? He can’t be that ignorant and brainwashed, can he? Surely he’s just a cynical grifter helping to perpetuate a crime? His position is insane, even for a conservative. That’s not hyperbole. Whether he’s aware of what he does or not, the bottom line is that Bill Barr has lost his mind.

That wasn’t a dog whistle. That was a dog foghorn. It’s a reminder to always precede “Christian Nationalism” with the word “white”.

@PureBleachFilms Loving God and Loving your neighbor is a commandment of Jesus. Christians don’t worship Jesus or they’d be called Jesusians. The defining article of faith, the center of Christian worship is the crucifixion and resurrection. If you do not believe that Christ died for your sins on the cross and was resurrected, you don’t get to call yourself a Christian. Embrace and encourage those Christians that follow the teachings of Jesus. But have a clear understanding of the bare minimum requirements to be a Christian.

Christians don’t worship Jesus. They worship Christ.

@xunqianbaidu6917 Perhaps I’m missing the parts where the pro-Palestinian demonstrators are demanding the release of hostages and distancing themselves from Hamas. The truth is that releasing the hostages will lead more quickly to a cease fire. Not releasing the hostages prolongs the conflict. Holding the hostages allows Hamas to hold the Palestinian people hostage. If the demonstrators were truly fighting for the lives of children and not just trying to make a big noise, they’d find the practical solution and pressure Hamas. And they’d move as far away as possible from anyone pro Hamas.

“Anglo-Christian”. There’s something that non-Christians and many Christians miss or forget. Following the teachings of Jesus don’t make you a Christian. Belief in the resurrection is what makes you a Christian. Belief that Christ died on the cross to wipe away your sins and give you everlasting life is the magic ticket. The Golden Rule is optional. Christian Nationalism, White Supremacy, and Maga are completely compatible with Christianity. Do not confuse the religion of Christianity with Jesus and his teachings.

I think the “anglo small donor- sphere” is getting tapped out, and the rest of the GOP is discovering this as they fundraise for their own campaigns.

You’re making the common mistake of thinking that all Christians worship Jesus. They worship Christ. For some Christians the teachings of Jesus are important. For others they’re secondary. But the most important aspect of Christianity is the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. It’s right there in the name. There are many good Christians that do use Jesus as an example for their lives. But it’s not the belief in the crucifixion and resurrection that makes them good.
