  5. I’ve got two theories. 1) He’s being tranquilized by the defense to prevent him from courtroom outbursts. 2) Just like the rest of us, Trump is suffering from Trump Fatigue Syndrome (TFS). The whole proceeding is about him, his favorite subject. He’s getting tons of attention. He thrives on this crap. But he’s falling asleep. Apparently even Trump has had his fill of Trump.

  8. Let’s see the data unpacked. Bruni might be wrong, but if you want to explain Republicans’ opposition to abortion, saying “White Supremacy” isn’t going to cut it. It exists. It’s a major force in the GOP and the MAGA right. It’s been a major force in the structuring of power in our society. I know all this. But if you’re going to stand up in a classroom and make that sort of claim, bring receipts. I also think part of the problem is when we use words as catch all phrases and then try to force whatever thing into the catch all at the expense of describing it accurately. Words lose their meaning.

  11. Interesting questions. The answer to your question is on the billing statements from the firms. Don’t merely count the lawyers sitting at the tables. Those lawyers have junior lawyers on their staffs. Every hour of every employee working on Trump’s cases is accounted for and billed at the appropriate rate and according to agreement. There might only be two attorneys sitting at the defense table, but there could be 50-100 people working to support them.
