  3. A primary tenet of Catholicism, a tenet that seperates it from the Protestant spin off faiths, is that the Pope decides on what is Catholic faith. According to the Catholic Church, the Pope is infallible. Incidentally, this is one of the reasons Protestants exist at all. What do you think they were protesting about? The Reformation is a fascinating part of history. You owe it to yourself to at least read the Wikipedia article on it.
