  3. If these small town PDs contracted out their internal investigations to Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Grady Judd would clean out the trash like a handyman cleaning out the rain gutters. The state of Florida should provide funds to small town PDs to hire outside agencies, but you know the Desantis crew and the Florida GOP will never hold corrupt cops accountable or admit police brutality is a problem.

While I don’t think he takes pleasure in catching criminals in law enforcement, he pursues them with a fierceness for dishonoring the profession. You might think he’s grandstanding for political ambition, but you’d think wrong. He’s turned down many opportunities to run for higher office.

  10. The court will follow the law, not prejudicially favor the police officer. Luckily, the law favors the police officer. State law makes the HOA regulation null and void, and this case will get tossed before it ever comes before a jury. The police officer might even be able to recover her legal costs. One thing I’d try if I was her defense lawyer (I’m not a lawyer): I’d ask the plaintiff (HOA) for their witness list and see who is willing to testify or sign an affidavit, BEFORE I asked the judge for a dismissal. I think that would be very eye opening for the community.
