  6. Scalise wasn’t that bad a choice. Not the best choice, but not the worst. The real problem is that the Republican conference in the House is ungovernable. It’s not the thin majority so much as it is that thin majority represents a handful of MAGA nutcases.

  24.  @mustypipes6602 The effectiveness of a political leader can be measured by how much he or she is hated by the other side. Pelosi and McConnell were both effective and are still utterly reviled by their opposite parties. (I know Mitch is still the Senate Minority Leader, but he probably isn’t long for this world.) We are going to miss their leadership.
