  2. There’s two types of lost money. One is “leaving money on the table”. For example, because Apple prohibited GS from selling customer data, GS considered that losing money they should have been making. The other type is operating at a loss—it costs more to sell a product or service than the product or service is bringing in. I suspect that the first type is the case here wrt the Apple Card. GS was making money, but felt it was forsaking profits that other credit card issuers commonly make.
