  1.  @beastlyshotzful  You mean attorney’s fees. There’s different ways these can be awarded. They can be assessed punitively by a judge if the defense acted in some way that deserves a penalty. But they can also be awarded by a jury, especially if they are included in the plaintiff’s demand.

  2. ⁠ @watcherofwatchers  When this happened to you and you took the manufacturer to court, did you make an additional demand for these other costs (in terms of time and emotional pain and suffering) that you bore? Hopefully you were able to document them to provide the jury with evidence. The court system cannot really make you whole. It can only make a rough approximation. It cannot give you your time back and it can’t make you unsuffer whatever frustration you felt. Hopefully you had realistic expectations when you embarked on your lawsuit.

  3. That’s why you want to ask for a print out of the warranty service history. That should indicate whether the car is a lemon, regardless of whether or not it was a lemon law buy back. Steve mentions this.
