@thegreyavenger2 The DUI is a separate case for the state court. She was penalized by the federal judge for violating her release because of the DUI. I don’t know whether or not the DUI has already been adjudicated, but the penalty will be separate if she was or will be convicted. I don’t know what her pre trial release orders were. They’re basically “stay out of trouble”, and sometimes a judge can order a person to not drink. You might say, “that’s dumb, the judge has no way to check if a person isn’t drinking”. The judge does if the person gets a dui.

Two years would have been better, considering that she was busted for DUI while out on bail. But 15 months is also good. There is not much time off for good behavior in federal prison.

@NoName-vq3zo She’s young and physically fit. The money will be owed until she pays it. If she doesn’t, she will be hauled back into court—that should be sufficient motivation.

@t2dev That’s not the case for federal sentences. At best you might get 15% reduced, and the good-behavior requirements are tighter as well. She will probably serve the full 15 months, less time served. Or more, if she gets into trouble in Federal prison.

@benvasilinda9729 Oh, I doubt that. I would assume that she got an extra 3 months for the release violation from the DUI. And just to be clear, the DUI is a separate STATE charge. She will be tried separately for that, in state court, and possibly serve time in a state facility in addition to the 15 months in federal prison.
