  1.  @randar1969 It’s more of a problem with the leasing companies. Russia will have to reimburse the leasing companies in full for all planes that Russia stole. We’re talking in the range of $50-60 billion in compensation.

  3. China doesn’t make spare parts for Boeing or Airbus. They don’t even have a commercial aviation engine manufacturing capability.

  4.  @RfnSandard  Because it would be considered high risk for not a great reward. If there are lower risk investments and opportunities, companies will go with those. Russia lost a shit ton of direct foreign investment and that is not going to be returning. The basic problem is that the cost of doing business in Russia is too high and will be for a considerable time.
