@casperwallace9685 China needs Russia, but China doesn’t need Putin. China is going to extract a great cost from Russia for any aid they give Putin, but at the same time they cannot give Putin the full support he needs without suffering economic fall out. My guess: they’ll continue to buy Russian oil for now, at below market prices, but this won’t be enough to sustain Putin’s adventure. China will profit greatly from Putin’s desperation while avoiding being dragged into the conflict. They might involve themselves in arranging for Putin’s replacement but only because they want a replacement that is friendly to China.
