  1. 9:49 Keyword: Reveal. Some of my favorite writing is “exposition by reveal”, where we are fed information to help us solve the puzzle presented by the story. We’ve been given questions, such as “Who are these people? What do they want? What are the obstacles? What is going on?”. As we receive the information, we confront new questions created by the exposition. The puzzle expands, sometimes in surprising ways. A good story (or a type of story) contains mystery and intrigue. We might be receiving clues (the revealing exposition) at the same time as the protagonist. We might be given information before them. But the answers to the questions raise new questions. This serves moving the plot of the movie forward. Or rather, it IS the plot.
