I’m sure there are more honest politicians and appointed officials, all of whom have good intentions. It’s a matter of competence. The ability to get elected is not the same as the ability to get things done, to administer the government.

  3. What makes you think that the city is doing this? It’s the University that is doing it on land that they own. The controversy is that the park itself has become a sort of historical monument.

  5.  @GOLDVIOLINbowofdeath  There is no such thing as the “Oakland CHP”. The CHP is a state law enforcement agency and it’s policies are set at the state level, not at the station level. What you are claiming is absurd, and I suspect you know it. That makes you a liar.

  9. How is the NG supposed to police Fentanyl abuse? What role do they play? The NG doesn’t seem to be the right tool for the mission. It’s like using a lawnmower to paint a house.
