Let’s give the LAPD their due. Bottom line: No bystanders were shot by the responding officers. Hopefully this represents much needed policy changes and we can look forward to more police responses that don’t injure or kill innocent bystanders.

@DISOPtv The same principle applies, though. The weight of the engine is a lot more than you suppose. That weight and the velocity gives the train great momentum that is not easily slowed or stopped.

If you’re referring to luck running in threes, I’m afraid you miscounted. He survived the air crash, he survived the train crashing into his downed plane, and the LAPD didn’t shoot him after pulling him from the wreckage. And while we (rightfully) praise the responding officers for saving the pilot’s life, I think we should also give props to the LAPD for not accidentally shooting any bystanders. I really did not think they would get the new policy implemented so quickly.
