The DOJ doesn’t need to make an example of Robertson, he did it to himself (and continues doing it to himself). Not content with the hole he dug himself by participating in the riot, he keeps digging himself in deeper. What we have a case of here is a dumb man who thinks he’s smarter than everyone else.

@surelyyoujokemeinfailure7531 I know it’s a common stereotype to call these blind followers of authoritarianism “useful idiots”, but while the evidence of their idiocy is abundant, I’ve yet to see in what way they are useful to ANYONE. They even failed the Great Pumpkin.

Uh, I retroactively invoke my right to not self incriminate. What do you mean it’s not retroactive? 😢

My thoughts are primarily with the families who lost a loved one, but also with the chocolate. This is bittersweet.

It bears mentioning that she appears to be Metro Police, not Capitol Police. The Metro police were called in to assist the Capitol Police. We need to be specific with our criticisms and blame. To do that we need to understand which agencies were involved and their roles in responding to the insurrectionist riot.

@johnkidd1226 Try it. I’m curious if anyone monitors YouTube comments. Do it and tell us how it goes.

@godferbidd6262 English you from teacher maybe not.

@johnkidd1226 No. Chris used the phrase “Stand Down”, which is different from what Trump said. Trump said, “Hold my beer.”

Not completely. There was another type of evil there that day. Supposedly there were also thousands of peaceful protestors there that day, supposed patriots that support the police and believe in law and order. THEY DID NOTHING, they made no attempt to restrain their violent comrades, to protect the police, or withdraw their support for violence by leaving. THEY DID NOTHING. This is the evil of inaction, of standing by while evil is done in your name because you support some cause. These supposedly peaceful protestors, some who later entered the Capitol and some who didn’t, supported the violent mob by adding their voices and presence. They were literally backing the violence while keeping out of harms way. They were cheering the violent ones as they brutally beat the cops.

This is a great idea and you should try it. Let us know how it works out for. 😂

. . . and at that point, they’ve abandoned conservatism for unadulterated power and corruption. Or am I clinging to an outdated definition of conservatism because this fascistic hunger for power is now what the word signifies?

They need to prove they are indigent, unable to pay for their own attorney. If they have property, cars, houses, etc., they won’t qualify.

Hopefully he will get the help he needs and will be prevented from owning a firearm.

@VesperAegis There were ignorant people before the pandemic, and there will be ignorant people afterwards. The afterwards part is just about here as the pandemic winds down. The cause that gives this convoy its purpose is quickly becoming a moot point. So let them have their fools’ parade. It might help them remove the sand from their underpants and we can get back to our lives.

@irvingr.fatback886 It doesn’t work that way. Jesus Christ can’t do anything about free will, nor can He assist and guide our actions if we don’t humbly and sincerely seek it. That said, most self proclaimed Christians won’t heed this guidance because it’s a hard and narrow path and doesn’t pander to their selfishness and desire for comfort. They instead distort Christ’s message to reinforce their convenience, greed, and self serving hate. I’m not even a religious person, lol. You could call me an agnostic and you wouldn’t be wrong.

@CurtisParanormal 😂 And I bet they think their protest is working because mask mandates are coming down.

You’re probably right, but there’s varying degrees of supporting evidence. If the guy’s browser history and social graph shows visits to white supremacist sites, that would support the theory that this guy was a white supremacist. On the other hand, if he had a lot of black friends, that would explain the nickname “White Josh”. (I doubt this is the case, but anything is possible.) Ten or fifteen years ago, we’d be more likely to think this guy was just a psycho. I think it’s a good thing we’re more sensitive to racial, religious, and gender hate, but sometimes the real explanation is that a murderous criminal is just a psychotic asshole.

If they assist federal prosecutors identify and prosecute other cases, that might be grounds for a plea deal. And they really should, because there’s a better than even chance that their friends at the riot will turn on them. The “getting swept up” argument needs to be put to rest quickly. Being part of a mob doesn’t excuse on of responsibility for one’s actions. I do like the “I was following President Trump’s orders” argument, though. No, it is not a good legal argument, but it undermines the GOP’s BIG LIE.

@MakingUsThink Almost all my subcontractor jobs I had to fill out paperwork. Very few were side jobs for cash, and those were one or two day jobs. But we aren’t privy to any contact that investigators have made with the employer, or anything else they might be investigating. I’ll suspend my judgement, but he’s on the hook for a weapons charge in any case. It’s even possible that he’s already been cleared of other possible violations. The fact that he was released means that at least the judge didn’t consider him a threat.
2
Well that’s just your opinion, man.

In exchange for pleading guilty to the most serious charge. This cuts down on the work and allows prosecutors and investigators to move onto the next scumbag. It also looks like he’s going to cooperate with the FBI. Forty one months is still substantial time.

@theresa922 I know, right? Still, let them do their thing if they’re enjoying themselves fighting for a moot point. It’s not like the lefties never demonstrate over absurd things. It’s not like we can stop anyone for protesting for their right to be big babies, no more than we could stop the Beastie Boys fighting for their right to party (although I don’t know why we’d want to stop them). Their moment has passed. They’ve had their Sixties. The actually dangerous extremists are being rounded up. The non-dangerous fringe will continue, as they always have, regardless of their political affiliation. Let them have their Woodstock-with-shitty-music.
2
Is it just me, or does this seem redundant/irrelevant now? I don’t want to stop people from having fun. Go nuts! But the cause is quickly becoming moot as the pandemic winds down.

@AcornSmokes420 Buddhists did this in Vietnam in 1963, but it was in response to persecution of Buddhists by Roman Catholics (the Vietnamese president at the time, Ngo Dinh Diem, was a Catholic). There was a self-immolation in 1948 by a Buddhist monk in China to protest persecution by the Communists. In the U.S., there were two instances of fatal self-immolation in protest of growing U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. There were other non-fatal self immolations to protest the war in the U.S. after these first two. There were also more self-immolations in Vietnam itself as protest to the SVN government. We should also note that there was a similar amount of self immolations in the U.S.S.R. and communist bloc countries to protest Soviet suppression and communism during the same time, as well as others in China.

If I am re-elected, my first act in office will be to pardon all these poor saps, I mean, noble patriots. ~~ Donald Trump, 2024

This might be more of a tactical decision than it is a concealment one. Close shaved or very short hair in a brawl denies your opponent something to grab hold of. If this was the thinking, it’s additional proof that these thugs came to the protests with the intention of fighting.

It looks pretty bad. He really needs his friend or his company to step up. If he is what he says he is, I really hope the FBI investigation comes back clean for his sake. A weapons violation is bad enough. The FBI are arresting 100s for the attack on Congress. It’s possible that one or two of those arrests will be due to a misidentification. This guy wasn’t even at the riot or the preceding protest if I’m understanding the situation correctly.

This video is going to be reeeeeeal helpful.

You’re more than done, you’re overcooked. Ironically, your ideas remain half baked.

He’ll be fine if they let him wear his “true love waits” ring.

Getting to choose your federal prison is a benefit of selling the FBI useful information and is for closers only. Second prize is a set of plastic steak knives.
