@sophiliamajestign9303 That was the first week of production, and only later in the day. They stored the mechanically armatured corpse at -25C° overnight to prevent spoilage and would put him back during lunch, but long days under hot lights took their toll. During the weekend turnaround, they solved the problem by giving the interior side of the skin a chemical scrape to remove any remaining lipids (fat), followed by a brine baste, and then kiln dried the skin at 60°C overnight. That did the trick. Twice a day applications of mink oil kept Bradley Cooper’s skin supple through the rest of the shoot.

You’re missing an important detail. It was the reanimated corpse of Jim Henson inside of Bradley Cooper’s skin—it’s actually Henson’s corpse that has been outfitted with precise clockwork machinery for the stop motion. This is cutting edge taxidermy. It’s so advanced it really needs a new name. Calling it taxidermy is like calling an In-and-Out Double Double a mere hamburger.
