  1. I give props to the clerk for another reason. He defended himself but went no farther. Once he saw his assailant escaping, he let him escape instead of running after him. That’s pure self defense, and not a particle more. He even had an opportunity shot as the assailant was running to the door, but he held off. That takes self-control.
