  1. It’s gamer spec fetishism. Gamers fixate on weapons and the specs of those weapons, which is never the full story. The stereotypical example is the comparison of tigers to shermans. It’s meaningless to discuss tank specs without considering the multi-level multi-system contexts, from the operating level to doctrine to logistics to manufacturing. One of the reasons I enjoy Bernard’s presentations is that he understands this fundamentally and is always reminding us of the bigger picture and role that equipment plays within that bigger picture.
