The question any nation faces in supplying arms is can they spare the equipment that might be crucial to their own self defense? In this case, should Sweden strip itself of its air defenses to help Ukraine defeat Russia? I’m not sure how France enters into Sweden’s decision making. Where did you read that France has veto power over current Swedish military disposition? Sweden exports the Gripen to other countries. Perhaps France has more sway over their military decisions and that is what you are referring to?

Even the majority of Russian ultranationalists and extremists don’t want to go and fight in Ukraine. They’d prefer that other Russians go fight.

@barrylane1055 I’m unfamiliar with Darya Massicot, but I’ve heard Bronk on several different channels. One of the things about evaluating the suitability of aircraft for potential roles is to look at the total package, not just an individual aircraft’s fighting capabilities. Logistics, maintenance, sustainment, and non-combat capabilities are hugely important factors. This is why Gripen has strong advocacy. It ticks a lot of the boxes that sustain an aircraft’s ability to play a decisive role, boxes that the F-16 (for example) does not. I suggest that anyone curious about or concerned with Ukrainian air power look for videos about the Gripen’s suitability for Ukraine. (I assume you’ve already seen these videos and understand all the benefits of the Gripen’s total package.)

@uPtrade No one you would recognize as an expert because you are a Putin supporter. You probably disbelieve that Russia’s airforce has failed to achieve air superiority or that Ukraine still has an airforce.
