  3.  @yvonnetomenga5726  To be clear, Russia has seized planes owned by multinational companies headquartered in Ireland, not from Ireland itself. The companies that insure the aircraft owned by these aircraft leasing companies are dragging their feet, so I imagine it will get settled in court to no one’s satisfaction, and it will be more than a few decades before anyone will lease an aircraft to Russia. Even airlines will carefully weigh the risks of reopening routes to service Russia, and there will be lease clauses to prevent some carriers from flying leased planes to Russian airports. Aviation is a global business, and the Kremlin just killed Russian aviation on February 24th of this year. It cannot bootstrap its domestic aircraft industry to supply needed parts to build, repair, or service its own aviation needs. Are there any strategically key economic sectors that aren’t going to crater? I guess fast food will survive, but I’m not sure how key it is to a modern economy.
