  1. I was kind of a McCain watcher, because he was entertaining in a refreshing sort of way. He said a few really stupid things (not unlike Biden’s infamous reputation for gaffes), but I came to realize it was because he often spoke from the heart (or from a twisted sense of humor inappropriate for a respected Senator, haha). The point is that John McCain was not a despicable liar. He was a straight shooter, and that sometimes got him in trouble with members of his own party. He wasn’t a bully who spread the most disgusting lies about his opponent. He didn’t game the system for personal profit. McCain didn’t whine, make excuses, blame others, evade responsibility, nor take undue credit. In short, McCain was everything Trump is not and will never be.
