Your mind is a pretzel, and that’s not a compliment.

For the first time in the history of Microsoft acquisitions, no one will be sad when Microsoft buys a company and drives it into the ground.

@yaqiwang5242 The main difference is that Mao didn’t lose an election before the CR. The Cultural Revolution was, more than anything, a dictator increasing his power over the factions in his party. Trump lost, he’s on his way out, and fomenting insurrection is not going to get him his job back nor lead to civil war. The CR reached high and low into all levels of Chinese Society. This fascist mob will be put down in short order, and they will not get either the war they desire nor Trump installed as dictator.

As a conservative, I find it both funny and mind boggling that self-proclaimed conservatives are pushing for MORE regulation of business. They’ve apparently lost their faith in the free market, in which entrepreneurs can create rival services. They feel that they’re entitled to piggyback on the work of others. It’s mind boggling but not surprising, given these “conservatives” hypocritical stances and actions with regard to the deficit and other issues. They claim that they want fair competition in the marketplace of ideas, but are unwilling to put their money where there mouths are. If their donors can spend billions on political campaigns, surely they can invest in business ventures to give themselves the platform the desire.

Is it pork? Yes. Should we hold up emergency relief for 300 million Americans because the $900 billion price tag contains $89 million in pork? The money you’re concerned about is 0.01% of the total budget. If you include other porkish spending, it still adds up to less than 1%.

Voters do not have the power to consign Mitch McConnell to Hell. Sorry, but even the ballot box has earthly limitations.

Where are you?

They’re understandably upset, but they couldn’t offer a warranty as robust as a military pact.

@Asdfgghhhjj The money is the message.
1
To do that means shooting down Russian aircraft and attacking their ground based air defense. What you want requires attacking Russia. Attacking Russia probably means nuclear war.
1
More deaths also bring down unemployment numbers, so obviously Trump’s strategy is working.
1
They’re not. You’ve become confused and are conflating two different stories.

What everyone else already said . . . I do have an unlikely left field alternative though. What if the misspelling wasn’t break for brake, but was the omission of “–er”. It’s perfectly cromulent to say “pull the breaker” if one is trying to cut a circuit. It’s derived from (pre-breaker) pulling a fuse.
1
It can’t happen soon enough.

Stock manipulation.

They’ve been out of hand ever since Putin ordered this invasion. However, we’ve never seen Putin this visibly desperate. He’s bluffing about the nukes, and his mobilization will not be effective. He sent the troop trainers into battle and most of them are dead and wounded. He has a training bottleneck.

No. For design. Design is more than aesthetics. It encompasses function. Or at the very least overlaps it in a major way. Have you ever used a hand tool like a hammer? You were using a tool that was designed as well as engineered. It was designed to fit in your hand and to perform its functions more easily. Ives’ shop at Apple was known for both making mock-ups and prototypes. They were known for rapid iteration. And while I’m not 100% certain on this, I suspect that Ives is a data-hoarder. The point is that Ives’ company might have been bought because of products they have in the works OR they might have been bought for their design data. (Or both.) Ives might already be designing something for OAI. Or the purchase could have been defensive, to keep both the talent and the data out of the hands of competitors. If OAI wants to design a new product that utilizes AI in a new way, that product might need a new physical interface. To take a silly example, imagine pants that are built around AI. You’d want someone like Ives to combine the traditional functionality with whatever functionality you are adding with your technology to create “smarty pants”.

OK Ivan. I see you joined today. Welcome to YouTube! Maybe you should have your own tea party in St. Petersburg or Moscow, or where ever it is you live, since you suffer from taxation without representation. Here in the U.S. we at least have the representation.
1
Thankfully, it has already failed. It failed the moment they attacked the police and broke into the Capitol, because finally the Trump GOP revealed itself in all of its naked “glory”. Whether you are a liberal, a conservative, or a progressive, if you love democracy you know you saw the face of fascism today. This is the heart of Trump’s base, his most fanatical followers. Many of us saw them for what they were before today, but it’s now abundantly clear to anyone capable of reason.
1
@undeadend That’s a lie. I don’t know why you want to see people suffer. I guess you just hate America.
1
Good luck to her on that. I’ll give her credit for finally finding a line she wouldn’t cross, but I don’t think that credit will get her more than a ham sandwich.

It’s impossible to set up the factories to do it in a reasonable time frame, i.e., while Trump is still in office. Even worse, Trump changes his mind so often that it is impossible for a business to plan its capital investments. Trump is just making it up as he goes along, proclaiming different genius ideas from day to day or week to week. Welcome to the Ad Hocracy.

He’s taking aim at McConnell on his way out. Perdue and Loeffler are just collateral damage; they’ve been loyal to the President and he has no reason to hurt them . . . no reason other than throwing them under the bus removes Mitch McConnell from power. McConnell’s first “sin” against the President was recognizing Biden as President-Elect. This was an ultimate betrayal, a dagger-in-the-back in Trump’s mind. The second was not including section 230 in the defense bill (because it makes no sense that it should be there). The third is McConnell not going along with the objection stunt, and discouraging his caucus from participating. The fourth is overriding Trump’s veto of the defense bill. All of McConnell’s substantial power as Senate Majority Leader hinges on the Georgia election. Trump has been less than 100% helpful to the two GOP Senate candidates since the November election. He has campaigned for them, but his rallies tend to really be about him. He did a lot of fundraising in Georgia . . . for himself! His crack squad of election-overturners have suggested that Republican voters boycott the election. And now, today, he’s come out with a series of tweets claiming that the upcoming election itself is illegal and fraudulent. These are not the actions of a political leader overly concerned about his followers or the well being of his party.
1
It really seems like this is all about putting the screws to the Republican Senators. Punishment for their disloyalty?
1
@eschcal1619 OK, Ivan.
1
@THOMAS Nah. He is a bully making threats, but he won’t go through with it. His threat is pointed at his own people, more than anything else. He’s saying to the Russians, “If you don’t win this war for me, I’m taking you all down with me.”
1
Thanks for covering my share! 👍

First Lady is an official public position, with a staff and budget. Laura Bush and Michele Obama both had staff and both worked to promote initiatives. Ms. Bush used her position as First Lady to promote literacy. Ms. Obama promoted nutrition. Ms. Trump promoted, uh, I’m not sure what she promoted. “Be better”?
1
@eschcal1619 OK Ivan

@Single_moms_suck_at_life LOL, keep trying to undermine democracy, you Russian troll.
1
Wrt to continuous claims, how does one maintain that claim if they’re dead? What’s the process for staying on unemployment if you’re hospitalized and barely able to breathe?
1
My sentiments exactly. Shep is a straight shooter. He’s a conservative who doesn’t compromise his journalistic integrity with partisanship. He is principled without being ideological. He is an example of what conservatives should aspire to be.
1
Look, Putzi, we know you’ve never invested a ruble in the the NYSE, and we know you never will. The stock market fluctuates constantly, which you would know if you weren’t stuck in your troll farm cubicle. You should be more worried about what sanctions are doing to your miserable country.
1
The Senate has not shown any indication that they’ll go along with any deal Trump negotiates. They should pass Trump’s offer to the Democrats as their own bill. Then the differences could be ironed out in committee.
1
Are you not horrified that 80% of Republicans in Congress are RINOs, disloyal to the President? I know I am.
1
You’re part of the state organ that has kept Putin in the dark. Doesn’t this worry you? Or is it only your bosses that will get the hatchet?
1
Finally we’re getting actual negotiations. Dems came down, Mnuchin came up. Will they split the difference? If Mnuchin and Pelosi find a compromise, what will the Senate Republicans do?
1
He’s crowing that the unemployment number for a single month “breaks the streak”, as if it’s proof of a reversal of a trend. And meanwhile every other trend continues to worsen: Deaths, hospitalizations, and infections break records daily. This is cheerleading when your team keeps fumbling the ball, but this time it was for a loss of nine yards, not ten. Rick is giving irrational exuberance a whole new meaning.
1
Small potatoes. Sure, don’t let her get away with it, but the real effort is going to be frying bigger fish.
1
Yup. Talking out of both sides of his mouth.
1
The House passed it. Pelosi and the House Dems are not on the spot. The ball is in the hands of Senate Majority Leader McConnell and Senate Republicans. Chances are, they’re going to fumble it—McConnell couldn’t even get his majority to pass the $500 Billion skinny bill back in October. Too many Republican Senators wanted $0 spent. So it’s accurate to say that Trump has put McConnell in a tough spot.

Comrade Ivan, whoever taught you English failed you.

Circular firing squad.

OK Ivan

Ahahahaha, the CueCat guy that changed his name after losing investors hundreds of millions of dollars.
1
Did he? Link the video.
1
Hey, Ivan. Duolingo or Rosetta or however you tried to learn English. It’s not working. You should demand a refund.
