  1.  @KevinWilliams-vm4ip  You’re talking about very costly infrastructure to move water from one aquifer to another. On top of that, it’s very difficult to predict on a local level the ongoing shifts in climate. Third, what’s in it for the Midwestern states? They might prefer that industry moves to them and their water rather than moving their water to Texas and Arizona. And lastly, the politics. How would you get such a mega-project through Congress? The MAGA republicans are against government spending (arguably they’re against governance of any sort). I somehow doubt that the Democrats are willing to deliver such a huge spending project to a state that has declared war on Democrats. Your water pipeline dream is literally a pipe dream. 😊

  3. Yeah, the Jones act encompasses a lot of different aspects of maritime activities, not just Pete’s pet peeves. I think he makes a reasonable criticism of those provisions that no longer make sense and are hurting our ability to compete, but I hope this isn’t just a wedge issue to get rid of the act entirely.
