  1.  @deepwinter77  GDP can be fudged to a certain degree. If the government pays someone to dig a hole and another person to fill the hole, you’ve added zero productive value to the economy but increased the GDP. So yes, the GDP is the GDP, but you can see how it might be considered “less clean”.
