@utubefuku7132 You’re pretty clear eyed for a libertarian. 😉 I’m an old school conservative and I’ve never thought that the libs were socialist. Thanks for your perspective! Although I think Trump was terribly destructive in a variety of ways, he also relied on teams of experts and technocrats to run the economy. The leanings of the teams of different administrations might change, but they mostly stand in the same place. The bureaucratic continuity is even stronger than political continuity when administrations change.

@ Elizabeth: this has been in the works, but I think you’re right that it was timed for effect. These trade restrictions are very robust; it also might have been difficult to get allies on board before this point (and I think the Biden administration is still working on cooperation).

But seriously, he’s such a globe trotter that I admit: I’ve stared carefully at his hair and outline to try and detect a green screen. So far, everything seems legit. 😁
