Hey, Brother. Hope you make it through in good shape. This isn’t the first time the business has changed completely forever. It doesn’t take great insight to know we’re at another inflection. I still think Pete’s take is weird. He focused on one issue that doesn’t even really concern SAG (background actors) and completely missed the main issue: residuals. Maybe I got distracted and missed it, but I’m pretty sure he didn’t mention residuals even once. How do you calculate residuals when streaming is the delivery mechanism? One thing I like about Pete is that he’s not afraid to go out on a limb. He’s not afraid of making a bold prediction or a provocative prediction. But sometimes, he’s out of his depth and this is one of those times. Anyway, good luck. You’ll find something to pull you through. And remember, if you can make it through to retirement age, you can retire in Mexico on just your social security—everything above that is gravy.

Ten years before that, there was Max Headroom.

You got it and Pete doesn’t really know what he’s talking about. He’s off on a minor tangent, not the main issues of the SAG strike. I hate when he does this. He’s not only not in his lane, he took the wrong turnoff and drove straight up his own ass. I enjoy Pete because he’s not afraid to go out on a limb or to make a bold prediction. This video is total facepalm, though.

I don’t think so. First of all, where is the I? The script is completely pulled out of the collective A of some writing room, and I’m not using ‘A’ to mean artificial. I quit watching that show about five minutes into episode 3, and nothing I’ve heard since tells me I didn’t give it a fair chance. There’s got to be at least a simulation of intelligence if you want to call something AI. Rings of Power is the dumbest and worst written p.o.s. I’ve ever seen.
