@KevinJohnson-cv2no Agreed, the publicly available evidence is strong (if not overwhelming) that he was compromised before he hacked and retrieved the secret info. To be fair, he might not have known he was working with the Russians, but he most certainly knew he was working for someone. The most lenient thing one can say in his favor is that he was manipulated by his handlers. The whistleblower cover is complete BS, because there are proper channels for whistleblowing. The “malfeasance” he “stumbled upon” was specific information that he intentionally went looking for and exfiltrated. At least one of his journalist “handlers” (Greenwald) used some sophisticated and coordinated methods to smuggle him out of the West and into Russia. It’s also notable that the other journalists involved have since reported that they retrospectively believe that they were unknowingly taken in by the ruse. I initially believed the whistleblower cover story, but the circumstantial evidence is too strong. Snowden was a spy.
