  1. Wow! Pete makes a very bold prediction when he says, “These countries (the German group) will cease to exist by 2050”. That’s one of the things I like about him: he’s not afraid to put it out there in stark terms. He’s thought provoking AF. But it’s the 3rd group I find interesting, the transient workers. He assumes that they won’t have children because they’re not working in their home countries. Is there data to back this up? I can think of examples where transient workers do have children in their country of origin, sending back money (remittances) to support them, and hopefully returning later with a big nest egg (or sometimes being deported with little to show for it). Yes, I’m thinking of Mexico and the U.S., although there are other examples.
