“Moscow Rules” don’t apply outside of Moscow. But the truth is, despite Russia’s efforts with social media disinformation and with hacking, they just don’t have the massive capacity of the 5-eyes agencies for intercepting communications and analyzing the huge volume of communications that they intercept. We barely have a hint of NSA’s ability to capture data and metadata from communications within Russia and communications outbound from Russia, but this release of information gives a rough idea of the capability. This is why I tell Russian trolls that they are not safe. They aren’t safe. Their activity is being logged and filed away in some immense data warehouse in Utah or Colorado. It’s likely that there is a photo of them in their NSA record. It will be up to some U.S. government functionary whether or not to unmask them or worse.

Yeah, even the position of the person shooting video is unsafe. It’s a low probability that a cooked off round would hit him, but it’s still a possibility. I wonder if this will be another “careless smoking accident” or if it’s saboteurs.

They’re getting shot at and shelled when they leave. USSR, I mean, Russia has agreed to cease fire corridors, but as soon as there are people fleeing in the corridor the Russians break the cease fire and start killing them. Russia can’t win against the Ukraine defense forces, so they’re going to punish Ukraine by murdering the civilians and destroying the cities. The Russians can no longer claim that it’s inadvertent or that they’re softening up military targets before assaulting them, because they’re shooting missiles and bombarding cities not even on any of their routes of advance. They’re trying to terrorize Ukraine and break its will to resist. And if they can’t do that, they’ll destroy the entire country as much as they can.

@lorentzianmanifold718 I want to point out that you’re putting out opinion about NATO as fact, and your opinion is not supported by the facts—in fact, your opinion is in line with official Kremlin propaganda. NATO is not seeking to expand, and membership requirements are quite high. Ukraine has actually been turned down for membership. NATO is a defensive alliance and does not take on defensive obligations haphazardly. Even Sweden and Finland will have to go through a lengthy process if they decide to apply. And the propaganda that Russia applied to join NATO is pure falsehood. Russia never seriously considered doing so and never made the diplomatic steps to start the process of joining. If you truly care about truth, take the time to educate yourself

I was thinking chemical weapons, which would have made it difficult for the crew to fight the fire and cause them to evacuate. I have zero proof, but it’s a question about which I’ve been wondering.
