Congratulations India! The prestige you will gain from this feat of science and engineering is well deserved. Thank you for your ongoing contributions to humanity (that part isn’t new).

So we just got to hang in there for 3 1/2 months and then we can start pulling ourselves out of this nightmare.

As someone else said in a tweet: Musk: If they start taxing billionaires, soon they’ll come after ordinary Americans. Ordinary Americans: Uh . . . who do you think pays taxes now?

It’s very Christian to see that your neighbor is in need and accuse them of eating pets.

@NuclearGameVideos You really ought to watch the video (and listen to the words said) before diving into the comments and asking people to support their statements. I don’t know one way or the other if MTG is undereducated, but if she is educated, her public statements do not showcase her education. However, she is certainly a troll. Source: her tweets. Go read them.

I’ll say this in Bernie’s favor: What you see is what you get. He tells it like it is and doesn’t care if he’s popular or not. I’ve never supported him—in past elections I felt opposed to what I perceived as “overly progressive”. But he’s not afraid to tell uncomfortable truths and he doesn’t pander to people’s worst instincts.

@fynkozari9271 They might not have been told anything about Chernobyl or they might have been told the danger was past. Chernobyl is the story of government corruption and coverup, so the whole saga might get downplayed in Russia.

Why does this man deserve your level of defense? ”His parents are wealthy.”
30
That’s how Mordor rolls.

It’s more of a dredge now, but you’re right, it looks better, more blended in with the river.
29
A nanny state becomes necessary when too many citizens act like misbehaving children.
26
@dahlemmuhammad9353 LOL, you’d have better luck arguing with a goat. With a candle or a rock. With the wind. Delusional people are not susceptible to logic.
22
Like most people, he’s not a hateful guy. He’s been driven to real righteous anger by the evil aggression of Russia. One can come to terms with that sort of anger, and eventually let it go. Not so much the fabricated anger and hate we see generated by “populist” politicians. To process that sort of anger, one must admit they were misled and that they were wrong.
21
@Jim26D The NSA was using ATT’s 5G network to control the mind of the bomber and they planted the suggestion that he should bomb the building to fight against his mind control. Everyone would think that the bomber was just a lunatic conspiracy theorist, giving ATT plausible deniability. See, I can make up laughably ridiculous shit, too.

The poor Finns ran out of munitions and never had a large army (or large population to mobilize). Even though they beat the Russians militarily, they couldn’t have survived another onslaught. So they made a peace deal with Stalin, giving up some land. I don’t think Ukraine is in any danger of running out of ammunition or equipment, nor is there a shortage of soldiers. Russia does not have limitless stores of equipment or soldiers to spare for the time being. Putin would need to declare war, and it would take time to mobilize reserves and equip them. But in terms of naked brutal aggression against a smaller country? Yeah, I can see why you’d make the comparison.

“Give us everything we want or you’re being divisive.”
19
中國擁有比登 Do you get your marching orders from Rodger Stone, Vladimir Putin, or the Grand Ayatollah?
18
I pity the ignorant fools that fall for the Antivaxxer/QAnon bullshit, but my contempt is reserved for the spreaders of disinformation and conspiracy theories for political purposes, like this victim Appleby. He wasn’t just a victim of Covid, he wasn’t just a victim of his own ignorance, he was a victim of his own hate. I don’t feel schadenfreude, but I do feel something similar—that his death was avoidable and entirely of his own choosing. It’s sadly ironic that the family he left behind is now a burden on society.
17
This movie is like a mash up of The Omen and Goodfellas, with a few moments of Benny Hill. Picture the scene of Trump fighting for control of the steering wheel from the backseat, and put it to the music of Yakety Sax.
16
“But where are you really from?”

With the Arctic thaw, Canada is also becoming a front line against worldwide Russian aggression.

I’m surprised all her wine hasn’t turned to vinegar because she is unable to put a cork in it.
16
Or they will blame NATO.

Mutation happened. If you haven’t heard of the Delta variant, you’re not keeping up.
15
They can flip Gaetz to go after the next level. I’d guess the next level is the level insulating Trump. Yes, that would include Stone.
15
It’s worth pointing out that Appleby also infected his infant son “to own the libs”.

Grudge or not, his office is incompetent. They mishandled evidence from the start, and the ongoing problems they had with delivering discovery to the defense was a big red flag. You can believe the worst if you want. I think incompetence and a lack of professionalism is the cause, rather than maliciousness. Even if they had an airtight case against Baldwin, Baldwin was going to get a successful outcome. If he wasn’t acquitted, he would win on appeal because of the Brady violations. I’ll say one thing more. I don’t think the source of the rounds was relevant to the case. But that is up to the defense to decide as they craft a legal strategy. It was the fact that the evidence was buried and not handed over, not the evidence itself, that got it dismissed. If the DA ran a tight ship and everyone on his staff and in the PD respected the rules of evidence and the rules of discovery, they might have won this case. They would have at least gotten a full trial out of it. In the immortal words of John Belushi, “But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
15
Got it, thanks. Now can you give me advice for how to hire a defense lawyer after I land?
15
@jaywalker3087 There’s no such thing as immortality, either, but people behave like they will live forever. That said, the fact that your car can be stolen by a skilled car thief is not a reason to leave your car doors unlocked.
14
I’m a conservative (or I used to be, using the old definition of conservative). Bernie has character, and we’ve seen how important strength of character is over the past 5 years. While I’m not in favor of his overly progressive policies (not in general, anyway), I prefer it to the anti-democracy authoritarianism of GOP populism. I am surprised to say this, but I trust Bernie.
14
President Clinton’s worst crime was perjury, but he is a choirboy compared to Trrump.
14
@t.m5465 <— illiterate Putzi troll
14
But if you were Putin, would you even risk traveling to any signatory country? This really bottles him up. He can’t attend any BRICS summits.
13
Government corruption reaching into the military, incompetence of planners and leaders of men, and treating your soldiers like mushrooms (keep ‘em in the dark and feed ‘em sh¡t).
12
@nickcharles6530 Looking over your other comments, I must urge you to see your doctor and ask him or her for a psychiatric referral.
12
Not so fast! You’re forgetting Trump’s plan C: An online insurrection led by YouTube Trolls who will type ominous but feckless threats.
12
Jan 6 was "Wall Street Putsch" part 2 Get real. There are much more effective means of doing that if Russia wanted.
12
@Ksins1 OK, Ivan. Maybe you Russians should withdraw from Ukraine, and let us worry about whether we withdraw our money.
11
@afridgetoofar1818 you didn’t watch the video, did you.

There should be a locking box or case on a cart. It should be part of her kit (for which she receives a kit rental). If she doesn’t have one, one should be rented for the duration of the shoot. She should be on set whenever firearms (functional or not) are being used on the set, and the moment they’re finished, she collects the guns and locks them up. The only person she directly answers to is the property master, in the case that someone else makes a request she is uncomfortable with. If she was put into an impossible position, she still shares in the blame for not making firearm safety her priority. (This is also one of the cases where she can tell the property master to F.O.) Honestly, if the terms of the job made it impossible to do the job, she should have turned it down and/or walked.

The argument for collusion is that not in picking and not in the advice, but the “banding together” to “stay strong”. I don’t think this argument is morally right. I don’t think it’s the way the law should be interpreted. But it’s how an SEC lawyer might approach it. It’s a sufficient argument for a judge to let a lawsuit proceed. If you and your 1000 co-investors from your financial discord server get swept up, and you see what your legal fees are going to be, you’ll want to settle as quickly as possible. But maybe a crusading lawyer would take the case pro bono or at a reduced rate for the group . Who knows? I could see a young Mark Geragos jumping into something like this. Maybe even the real Mark Geragos.

Trump’s first clue was that his ears started burning, even before he heard or saw Bush’s speech.
10
But you haven’t listened to doctors nor scientists either. In fact, you won’t listen to anyone with any expertise at all.

Terry Hawk Matt Gaetz was involved up to his elbows. ✊

@noface6872 No, you misunderstand. Mexico has its own problems without the threat of fascism spreading down south. You know, America is not sending its best people, etc.

He’s a straight shooter and always has been. When the night time opinion shows were engaged in all sorts of calumny and lying over HRC’s role in a uranium company sale, he devoted a show to setting the record straight. I was glad he quit FNC, but I had already stopped watching it by that point. I’m delighted he got hired at CNBC and has rejoined journalism. We need more like him.

@asynchronicity A much better price and on “ez credit” terms. China and India have Russia over a barrel. They won’t have to buy commodities—they’ll be able to lease mineral and petroleum concessions from Russia. Watch, it’ll happen.

@voiceofreason2674 You have a point. This thing in the U.S. has its own flavor. Our history of ideology based on racist hate also precedes the Nazis. But we can learn from the German experience. There’s differences but there’s also a lot over overlap. To a certain degree we might say that the ideologies are decorative bullshit to flatter and mislead the masses, and it doesn’t matter if you have a Hitlerian world view or a Leninist one. The real philosophy is “might makes right”, the goal is maximum power over others, and that goal justifies whatever means are necessary. Our American fascism uses conservatism as a front. It’s not real conservatism, but it divorces meanings from words to signal conservatism. This is part of the grift. The word “conservative” is essentially meaningless. For example. People who promote Christian Nationalism are not Christian. They use the symbols of Christ to flatter themselves and to flatter others, all the while setting themselves above the rest of us. They want to impose “Christian values”, but the values are not the key values of Christ.

Preston Hanson Happy one week anniversary 🎂 on your account, you flippin’ troll. When Shepard Smith left FNC, a huge chunk of truth-telling left that organization.
8
@terryslaughter1409 They probably won’t collect all the money, but they will collect some, and they will collect more over time. The defendants’ wages can be garnished for example—if they actually work and support themselves. The judge can order that assets be seized. All of which is to say that the plaintiffs are also being awarded the happy knowledge and warm feelings that the defendants actions are now causing dire financial consequences for the defendants. Thanks to case, the defendants’ lives are financially ruined for the long term.
