  1. Putin isn’t high on the list of moral monsters, but he’s the moral monster of our time. He’s a genocidal maniac, but doesn’t have the power to murder tens of millions like Stalin, Hitler, or Mao. (Assuming he doesn’t use strategic nukes against Western Europe or North America, which is still a small possibility.)
