There should be a locking box or case on a cart. It should be part of her kit (for which she receives a kit rental). If she doesn’t have one, one should be rented for the duration of the shoot. She should be on set whenever firearms (functional or not) are being used on the set, and the moment they’re finished, she collects the guns and locks them up. The only person she directly answers to is the property master, in the case that someone else makes a request she is uncomfortable with. If she was put into an impossible position, she still shares in the blame for not making firearm safety her priority. (This is also one of the cases where she can tell the property master to F.O.) Honestly, if the terms of the job made it impossible to do the job, she should have turned it down and/or walked.
