But if you were Putin, would you even risk traveling to any signatory country? This really bottles him up. He can’t attend any BRICS summits.

@afridgetoofar1818 you didn’t watch the video, did you.

But there is the practical effect in that Putin is now extremely travel constrained. There are a handful of countries where he isn’t at risk of arrest and extradition to The Hague. This limits his ability to conduct high level diplomacy and meet with other leaders.

It means that if Putin came to the U.S., the U.S. wouldn’t be required to arrest him and extradite him to The Hague. But it doesn’t mean the U.S. can’t or won’t.
5
I think the point is that now there is no way he will travel to SA or any other signatory of the Rome treaty. Excepting a handful of countries, his ability to conduct diplomacy face to face with other world leaders, is severely curtailed. It might even have an affect on his status as leader within the Kremlin, but I doubt that.
4
But he’s not going to travel outside Russia very much. 😂 He is now effectively blocked from most of the world.

The FBI needs to release Dog the Bounty Hunter’s laptop.

@cookiecola5852 He can’t visit most countries in the world, meaning he cannot have meetings with other countries outside of Russia and a handful of countries or he risks arrest. I don’t know if it makes a difference in the Kremlin either way, but I suspect it doesn’t really matter for Russian domestic politics.
2
That is incorrect. As a non-signatory, the U.S. isn’t required to detain and extradite someone. But they can do so at their discretion. Don’t have to, might want to.
2
But why would he risk arrest? Except for a handful of countries, the richest man in the world cannot travel through most of that world. The next time there is a summit of BRICS in Brazil or S.A., he has to stay home, or risk an incident where he is detained.

So Putin’s ability to conduct high level diplomacy in face to face meetings with other leaders is severely curtailed. He’s going to have to pass on the next BRICS conference in SA.

Being thrown out a window would be a kindness to Putin. He deserves what happened to Gadaffi and Mussolini. The mobs literally tore those villains to shreds.
1
Not the same. To be the same, your warrant would have the force of law outside of your neighbor’s house, meaning he would face possible arrest every time he set foot outside his door. Your neighbor would effectively be bottled up in his house.
1
@МихаилЧерников-п2т Potentially any signatory country he visits. Which means he can’t safely visit those countries. How will he attend BRICS summits? He’s out of the club. He can’t conduct face to face diplomacy with many other world leaders outside of Russia. You say, “It’ll never happen.” I say, “It doesn’t have to happen for this to hurt in some way.”

@S.E.O.S statue of limitations, hermanito.

Gaddafi wasn’t just killed by the mob. They murdered him by literally tearing his body apart. For Putin, getting thrown out a window would be a blessing.

As a non-signatory, the U.S. isn’t bound by treaty to arrest and extradite anyone to The Hague. But that doesn’t mean the U.S. can’t do so if it wants to. So, no, Putin isn’t theoretically safe traveling to the U.S.
